Hello dear nairalanders.

Please I'm going through a state of mental confusion.

Currently i have approximately 20 million and 300 thousand naira in my bank account.

I have two thoughts.

1) I am 25 years old but I'm not a university graduate, i only have ND (National deploma) from a polytechnic In Edo state, Auchi precisely.

I would have become a graduate years ago but after my "ND" years ago, i refused to go back to school and i decided to hustle for money.

Most of my classmates in school back then are all graduates but all the same, looking at my bank account now, i have no regrets.

So this is what i plan on doing.

1) Can i further my Education In any university in the United States with the money and plan on staying back after my degree, for the fact that I'm 25.
Will that be advisable?

2) should i stay back in Nigeria and use part of the money to build a house In my hometown in Benin and use the rest for business?

3) Is there a chance of going to USA and start all over again, look for job.
Will the money be enough to rent a house, foot some bills untill i see a job in the USA.

Note i choose USA only because it's my dream country, I'm not scared of the traveling ban because I'm 100% confident that it will be taken away few months from now.

Please i won't be replying any mention or questions.

All i want is to take note of good advice.

I already know a reliable traveling agent.

Please other suggestions are welcomed apart from mine.

Please help

I'm surprised no one on the first page asked this question. Our values are gradually eroding away.

The first question any sane person should ask is how did a 25 year old acquire a huge sum of 20 million.
shut up joor, ode oshi.. if he was broke, would you ask him what made him broke?? That your life is miserable, no mean say make other people's life be like your own na... bone of contention here is, what he can do with the money..... una go dey find loopholes where there is none... no sensible person will ask question out of context

How did you make the 20m? Why can't you continue the same thing that gave you 20m? Settling down in USA is not as easy as you make it to look. If you must come to US, make sure you come as a student. Anything, short of that, you are on your own! Good luck and don't allow agents to swindle you of your hard earned money!

Move to Ontario or British Columbia for your children’s sake. With the political space we are in, this country leaders seem to have no vision. The country’s future doesn’t seem bright. You can split the money. It’s better you let your unborn kids grow up in saner climes. 10m to migrate while the other part can be used to start up importing business from Canada to Nigeria. Just look for what they have thats somewhat scarce here. Consider buying land too.

Apart from the leaders, do the people of Nigeria, all of us have vision?

Listen man, I don't own a business nor do I have such money saved, ever.

What I want to advice you on is very specific and straight to the point, you said USA is your dream country and if you should go you'd be fulfilled, I find that admirable a lot.

Now in life it is better to be flexible with your plans so you do not break when things don't go according to plan, I have read multiple advice on this thread and God willing I will be referring back to it in a few years, make a proper plan as this opportunity might not come twice, racism, policies, securing visa and cost of living quite differ from region to region so think about that and think or 2years from now, will those policies affect you and your family, will it give you an enabling environment to thrive?

Like I said I am not one to give advice but I'd like you to think really hard about this points I made in the second paragraph.

May God continue to be your driving force.

Whatever you are doing that gave you 20m at 25years old, keep doing it. Start slowly, and do it in a large way.

Your siblings can travel abroad as long as you have money no matter where you reside. You can always send your parents to vacation abroad

Forget USA.... Split the money into 2...save the first part in a fixed account... Then the split the second part into 2, buy landed properties with the first part and work on Canada visa with the second part.... Approximately 2.5m

..... Nigeria is not worth it my guy, forget the yeye business they are advising you.

I have noticed from your responses.. u always make negative comments in posts.. even in my past thread.. I pray for you and if you are married I join your hubby in the prayer too

There's nothing negative about my statement, save your prayers and use it for your own destiny, you need it. I repeat, if the N20 million he said he has was gotten by fraud he will squander it but if it's through hard work, nobody will tell him what to do with it because he will know automatically.

America might not be a promise land. Your success is in Nigeria. You made the money here in Nigeria. Don't ever think about where your mates are or what they are doing. Focus on your life.

My boss worth over 7 billion naira but started real estate business with just 10m 3 years ago. I know everything when it comes to real estate business/investment. We are in real estate driven economy. Investment in Real Estate wisely can make you a billionaire within a year. Think of what you are passionate about and invest in it. The level you are now, you don't need a certificate to work for anyone so your education can be pursued later. That's what I think!

Your mind is made up on travelling and I support your view. You also sound like the money came from keyboard pressing. I advise you put N3-N5m in a business with fast turnover. Look for what you're most comfortable with. At the same time make your street connect stronger. Use N1m to travel build travel history, go to UAE, SA, Kenya.

Finally, look for strong connect to enter USA, buy confirmed job or use admission. Do not build house because you will exhaust that money. You be Benin boy, use your brain. If USA fail, pay school fees for Sweden and leave. Sweden 100% sure.

Also avoid beggars in whatever form they come in. Them go beg that money finish. Still first laugh you when you broke.
you have said it all

Bro stay in Nigeria. We can make it everywhere.
All you needs to do is to sit down and think of good business you can create for yourself.
Nigeria is not so bad like that. We have many people making a lot of money here in Nigeria everywhere. Going to America won't solve anything and if you wish to go there that's Fine. But I can are sure you that if you stay in Nigeria and think of good thing you can use your money to establish you will make a lot of money in Nigeria.
Prosperity is not from abroad bro prosperity is from above.

Re: With N20M, Should I Travel To USA Or Stay In Nigeria? by BryanG: 8:50am On Feb 22, 2020
1. Hold your 20m very well, and continue doing your business if it’s genuine business.
2. Enroll to start a part-time degree program immediately at a university closes to your business
3. But if you have the time and brain, enroll to start an external degree program at a university abroad. That way u don’t have to leave Nigeria and your business for school .
4. When u have the degree, you can decide whether u wanna relocate to the USA maybe for masters. If u get a foreign degree, u could land a job with it when you relocate.
5. Building a house in your hometown is not the best idea, except you have excess money.
6. Leaving your biz for USA to start afresh is a bit risky, except your absolutely sure. Having trusted relatives who can help you with accommodation until you find your feet can help.
7. Always a good idea to have an option of staying abroad in case Nigeria fails. There too much uncertainty here.

If I had 20 million right now, I'd stay in Nigeria. If I had 1 billion, I'd even stay more in Nigeria. The level of placement 20 mill will give you in 9ja can give you 100 mill in 2 years or less. Those of us in construction know this. So, personally, I'd stay.
If I don't even know what to do which 20 million, an easier way to double that is to just go to a big market in any part of the country and ... Anyway, no need to waste ideas. Make una dey move make more space d turn up. With the right capital, Nigeria's biggest assets is it's corrupt system and huge population. If you know, you know.
wait till you get 20 mill and start your business then we can talk.
