Brodapounds: Nice to know you had your N.D from Auchi Polytension I'm gonna give you two options as stated below: Relocate to the States and establish yourself but have this in mind that their lifestyle is more better than Nigeria. THERE IS NO PARADISE IN AMERICA. Start a exportation business in Nigeria (Exporting of Charcoal, Bitter Kola, Cashew Nuts E.T.C) You will make profits in millions within a couple of months. |

Brodapounds: Please and please do not travel to america better use that money to start up a business go to china and import goods and resell it here in nigeria. if was in your shoes i would not be talking about travelling out. As of now a business trip to china with 20 million to buy goods will fetch you not less than 28 to 30 million within three to five months after you must have sold off your goods i am sure of what i am talking about. i have friends that are importers with lower amount but the profit they make is mind blowing. please dont travel to america. 2 Likes |

BryanG: Even if he has excess money there are better, more productive things to do with the excess than build a wasting asset in a hometown. How about renovating his primary school, secondary school etc in the hometown? Clinic, hospital, library? Won't they add more value to his life and the lives of everyone in the hometown than a building that will be used maybe 10% (37 days) in a year at most? The too much uncertainty here is promoted by people wasting money on hometown houses they will hardly use while there are more beneficial things to spend "excess" money on. 3 Likes |

With that type of money you are king in Nigeria. Look for a good and reliable business. Use your Brian and think of a good business you can handle. Eg, phone business, laptops, food business or transpiration business. Just look for a good and profitable business you can invest In. You can always travel to USA anytime once you double your money. For example, here at computer village. My boss is making is money here in Nigeria and he travels to any part of the world for holiday but is business is here in Nigeria. Once you start your own biz and you start buying goods from China, USA and UK na them go dey find you because they know you also contribute to their economy......... I don't know if this my comment make sense. 2 Likes 1 Share |

I like you guts. Keep it up. My 'if I were you advise' below 1. I will not use any agent, I will rather try to sort out the travel stuff myself by reading through the appropriate sections here on NL 2. I will either apply to go study in the US a 4 year course by which time when I graduate, I will have the opportunity to remain behind to follow my dreams after the ban must have been lifted. I stand better chance if I schooled in the US 3. I will also look at the Canada option to relocate and get my residency there and passport. This will give me unfettered access to the US in the future 4. I can also look at going to the UK to further my education and gain residency + passport then move to the US. 5. I will ensure that the source of cash flow is well documented in my bank statements to avoid stories that touches the heart. 6. I will not invest in any Nigerian shares or stocks. I will look to invest in shares abroad to maintain the cash. 7. I will not be distracted to start business of a y sort in Nigeria. I may set up my parents to do business for their sustenance though. 8. I will not gamble part of it or be deceived into using proxies 9. I will not hesitate to begin the process to relocate in earnest All the best to you. Feel free to reach out to me. 5 Likes |

[ quote author=Brodapounds post=86853347]Hello dear nairalanders. Please I'm going through a state of mental confusion. Currently i have approximately 20 million and 300 thousand naira in my bank account. I have two thoughts. 1) I am 25 years old but I'm not a university graduate, i only have ND (National deploma) from a polytechnic In Edo state, Auchi precisely. I would have become a graduate years ago but after my "ND" years ago, i refused to go back to school and i decided to hustle for money. Most of my classmates in school back then are all graduates but all the same, looking at my bank account now, i have no regrets. So this is what i plan on doing. 1) Can i further my Education In any university in the United States with the money and plan on staying back after my degree, for the fact that I'm 25. Will that be advisable? 2) should i stay back in Nigeria and use part of the money to build a house In my hometown in Benin and use the rest for business? 3) Is there a chance of going to USA and start all over again, look for job. Will the money be enough to rent a house, foot some bills untill i see a job in the USA. Note i choose USA only because it's my dream country, I'm not scared of the traveling ban because I'm 100% confident that it will be taken away few months from now. Please i won't be replying any mention or questions. All i want is to take note of good advice. I already know a reliable traveling agent. Please other suggestions are welcomed apart from mine. Please help[/quote] Use part of the money and invest here in Nigeria,by building House and Renting it for tenant or you can Acquired 2 plot of land and keep it.The rest of the money you can use it to relocate to any country of your choice. |

Stay in Nigeria. Join politics. You have good startup capital OR start giving loans to market people. It will cost you between 1-3m with an office and 2 staff that know the biz. |

Brodapounds: Get a land in lagos or Benin where you will settle down after marriage Put up a self contain or mini flat building upto 5 flats at the rear and the will have their own entrance Put it for rent use the money and build a main building for your family and you will have your own entrance where you will settle As you make more money, you will be thinking of how to complete your education and you make more efforts so thst when you want you go abroad for holidays and your wife will have her children abroad Keep that amount of money away from the eyes of your family, even friends considering your age, it's a big amount of money |

A lot of guys outside the country will run to Nigeria with that amount of money. It also good to travel as a young man. Split the money in half and travel. If you make it to the US, forget entertainment, the competition is cutthroat, it can even take you 3 year just to get your accent in check. Learn a trade 1_2 years Auto or HVAC you will be alright. Most importantly dno rush into marriage, study the system before you marry. 3 Likes |

Do you have interest in aviation? You could apply to any of the pilot training schools in the usa(as that is your prefared destination). To get you private pilot license will cost you around $10k. You do not need a degree for that. On the alternative (which I feel is better), apply to any university in Canada for any course. You are entitled to apply for residency after 6 months. While as a student too you are entitled to bring your spouse or dependance once you can show prove that you can sustain them. This you have with 20m. You ma wish to gamble your 20m in naija, but if na me despite my age, I go japa! |
