Arguments without facts!

How do we know that they haven't married legally? They only need two witnesses plus the Registry official who can do it for them privately at a cost. Not everyone queues up at Ikoyi Registry. That doesn't mean he shouldn't do the right thing traditionally. He already took an initial step on that anyway.

There's tradition and there's the law. Both are valid in our society.

what a wretched tradition.
It only depict that your tradition means selling daughter from father to husband (buyer) . so like we do for property. and after you pay for it, everything of the property become your own.
sad

I understand you don't know that men made your tradition and it is only men that are keeping it. it is also men that could modify it. Don't forget.

I have to remind you, they didn't fall from the sky.

With all I have read so far ignorance will continue to kill you people. Take it anywhere in the court of law Davido been the father is undisputed. Maybe na Chioma papa pour sperm inside. I pity for our mentality. In the name of tradition and religion most of you throw away your sanity.

Exactly, that is the idea behind all the marriage stunt. Many who are salivating, don't know Davido nor chioma from anywhere.

Everything you said might be true in Yoruba land, Davido should stretch his luck and see what happens.
no need to give this any tribal coloration....courts are there to uphold the laws of the land-Nigeria not the laws of yoruba culture or any other tribe.

He thinks women are incubators owned by the father and then sold to her husband so any offspring before the "sale" means the father has the right.

These misogynist should go try their luck before a Judge and be shocked
Matters haven't gotten serious yet until another man marries the chioma girl. Davido has no Legal basis to claim the child of a girl who still lives under her parents. If he does that then that is not different from a rapist coming back to claim the fruit of his rape. funny you're rather the person who see women as incubators for random men. the same thing Igbo tradition protects them from.

- As an adult, Chioma willingly cohabited with Davido.
- Davido openly declares his love for Chioma in a song titled "Assurance", asking water to carry him away if he jilts her. Eventually, Chioma became pregnant for Chioma.
- Subsequently, both Davido and Chioma's families have formally met and are fully aware that their children intend to marry.
- Davido not only witnessed the birth of Ifeanyi but signed his birth certificate as his father.
- Davido, in the presence of members of both his and Chioma's families, named his son David Ifeanyi Adeleke at a public event.
- Ever since the birth of Ifeanyi, Davido has assumed and performed all necessary paternal duties.
- Currently, Chioma still lives with Davido and gives her body freely to him.

In view of foregoing and given that since the birth of Ifeanyi, no man has surfaced to make any paternity claim, I hereby insist and affirm that Ifeanyi Adeleke is biologically and legally Davido Adeleke's son.

As your Lordship pleases! Court!!

Islam is the best. Islam does not permit a man and woman to bear children without marriage Christianity is fake

That's why you people always end up with the wrong persons and start maltreatment.
Before 3 months, the women stab them because they go for their real girlfriends and abandon the women at home.
How many men have been stabbed of late by the wrong women they marry because of pregnancies? What if eventually DNA shows you after years that the child doesn't belong to you?

How does Christianity come in here? Use your brain just for once.
This is just February but you are Mooron of the year 2020 already!

You're joking right? Please remove the term "legal"! If we are talking legally, your quote is entirely rubbish! Better review the 9ja Constitution so that you don't land in trouble one day with this your comical tribal beliefs grin grin grin

I don't know how these guys used to think..

Davido as it stands now is not the rightful owner of that child.

How can you claim a child you've not done anything on the mothers' head.

Chioma's father has greater and 100 percent claim on the child than Davido...........Thats just the fact.

But Davido has paid her bride price abi we didn't see the pics? You know Igbos don't do engagement. Traditional wedding is marriage.

Traditions were made by men, carried along by men. Just have to remind you. Our forefathers don't have the intelligence we possess now, we can't have to live by their ignorance.
We should modify out those part that was made out of blindness.
