Dear NL, I bought a HP new laptop about a week ago, window 10 operating environment, I usually connect with wireless spark 3 Techno, but I discovered that within a few minutes whatever bundles of data package I load will soon go away. Upon inquiry, I was told to change the window setting which I did, but the problem still persisted, I loaded 2G of data package last night, I woke up to work with my system only to receive alert that I'm having 500MB remaining. I only opened one site. I have to disconnect in order to type this message. Please what else can I do? I have not had this kind of experience working with my previous laptops and I usually do wireless connection. I wait to hear from you.

Disable windows updates from services.msc but note that your system won't be able to pick future patches from Microsoft when you do so.

I did that exactly. The window has been showing unable to install new updates, showing red notice. I equally disabled map updates as well.

If you don't know you don't know, pay someone who knows. Abi you don't want us to chop?

All those live backgrounds, disable if any
If possible, tell cortana not to search the web

Thanks for the information. Getting someone to do it for me around here for a fee is not the problem, it is important to know the problems and know how to fix it.

1.Set your connection to metered
Do you do this from the laptop or from the cell phone?
2. Tell cortana not to search the web
How does one handle the cortana case, I believe the problem is from there
This is what I did in that area.
My device history has been turned off.
Safe search: I clicked off button which says "" Off- Don't filter adult content from my web result.
I don't know if I did the right thing.

I was faced with this problem when I installed windows 10 late last year.

I did airtel night sub and with about 2 minutes of putting on my hotspot I received a message that my plan has been exhausted.

Had to call airtel customer and only God knows what I said to the representative that night.

Windows 10 is a beast when it comes to data consumption. Fortunately it can be tamed.

First of all, download Netlimiter. Netlimiter is an application that allows you to select the apps that you want to access your internet connection.

It will show you all the current apps zapping your connection and you can choose to block their access totally, limit their speed size or give them data quota which upon exhaustion, they will stop connecting to the internet.

Go to getintopc.com to download the crack version of netlimiter. Please don't forget to download the video on how to install it from the website.

Also set your data to metered network. Windows 10 will not download updates on metered network.
