We read in the bible that Jesus, supposed son of the Supposed creator of the universe , came to Earth some 2000yrs ago, walked among humans and cured some diseases, many of them epidemic diseases like Leprosy, Polio, etc. Though He supposedly cured a few people of their personal ailments, the son of God, with the sum of all knowledge in the universe, failed or should we say, forgot to eradicate those diseases permanently.
After Jesus supposedly left the Earth , nothing changed in terms how humanity dealt with diseases and epidemics. Nothing changed at all.

2000yrs later , it took the scientific curiosity and endeavors of puny mortals(whose names you may not have even heard of ) in 1873 to discover that Leprosy was not caused by demons nor was it a punishment from Jesus's father. No, it was caused by a certain Bacterium. The first treatment became available in 1940. Halleluja !!

Ever since, there have been many different disease epidemics. And always, the scientific ingenuity of mortal humans have risen to the challenges and saved mankind.
Science ( When humankind speaks in one Tongue) has not cured all the diseases in the imperfect world that the perfect God supposedly created, but it has made tremendous progress in extending our lives and helping us manage a better quality of life.

So, when God goes Awol, Science stands up for humankind.
