Good morning guys, i am in a bit of a dilemma and need your help. I buy and sell clothes and receive inflow amounting to about 350k give or take monthly and hardly ever leave in a any serious acc balance (current bal is 25k).

I also have an investment that pays about N1.3m monthly into a savings account (half of which belongs to my mum and dad as they also deposited sums to help them invest. When i receive payment i disburse to them individually). It is from this savings account i run my everyday expenses and it is also from this savings account that i transfer to another account that i use as my actual savings account (balance 1.3m).
Note that: I have not paid tax on my business before, i do not have any receipts to show. I had a UK refusal about 2 years ago (i took it for granted that I’d be issued a visa as i schooled in the UK, have a good travel history, and had a US Visa - still do- but was careless with my application).

My questions are: Do i need to print all 3 statements?
Is there anything i need to change from how my affairs are currently run?
Gurus in the house please help

Hello everyone,

Nairaland has helped me in the past while trying to get a UK student visa for myself, so I'm here for an advise concerning my brother who wants to come to the UK with a visiting visa to attend my wedding.

Here is the background of the whole situation.

My brother first applied for UK visiting visa in 2008 to visit our mother (who is a British Citizen) and he was refused even though he was studying at the time in Nigeria.

He applied again for UK visiting visa in 2012, and he was again refused stating reasons for the refusal was because he does not have any ties back in Nigeria but then he was doing his Youth Service.

In 2017, our mother thought it was best for him to come for his Masters in the UK. Unfortunately, he was again refused on grounds that he was not a genuine student.
We challenged the UKVI's decision via a Judicial Review through a dodgy Nigerian lawyer and the appeal was refused.

So back to my main reason for coming to this great forum.
My wedding will be in April 2020 and I will like my brother to be at my wedding in the UK. I will also be providing my wedding invite to him for his application.

He had started working in November 2019 and by the time he will be applying he would have only spent 5 Months in his present employment.
Either my mum or myself will be sending him an invitation letter and accommodation will not be a problem for him likewise financial sustainability.

So I just want an advise from the good people in this forum what are my brother's chances of getting a visiting visa if he put in an application around 2nd of April 2020.

Can someone please advice me on this.

@justwise

You just have to be very careful and Sure the UK embassy is very much aware you are just looking for a way to bring in ur brother by all means , reasom why you need to Calm down and get some things right.

Ask your brother to work on the following-

* Travel History... Let him visit other countries for now.
* Improve his financial status... Get a good job paying above 200k
* Ties in Nigeria... Father, Siblings, Wife, Children, investments and properties.

Finally, . All these things listed above may not be easily achieved in within 6months - 1year...Just ask him to take his time, get it right and avoid using any fake documents...

Good morning house,

I submitted my passport since 31 Dec and I have not heard from them till date. I will like to ask if I should recall my passport since travel date has passed or I should just wait for the outcome.
Thanks.

Any one with a response on this

He needs to apply this month or early March

What is his take home income from the job?

He currently earns #200,500 monthly and he saves at least #100,000 each month.

Is current salary is #200,500 and also my dad is still in Nigeria with him. Also definitely I am not in support of him using fake documents as that could lead to a 10 years ban.

@afroman how much is your brother’s salary and how much does he have as account balance? Any investment/property:asset.? Any wife or children?
Try and answer us.
Your greatest hurdle is proving that this is not an avenue for him to settle in the uk as his ties to Nigeria are lesser. The visa denials history shud already give you an idea as to how the ECOs have been thinking

Is current salary is #200,500 and he has been trying to save #100,000 at least each month. He has no wife nor children and also no investment property. I believe based on what everyone is saying his chances are very slim.

This thing happened to my brother in law. All his siblings and parent are in the UK.

He has been refused visa nearly 7 times because the eco believes he will stay back in the UK if granted a visit visa.

My advise....stop trying to help your brother visit the UK. He currently has too many refusal. The more he applies...the more the UK eco thinks he is too desperate.

He needs to let the UK rest for at least 2-3 years. Instead....he should visit other countries.

I.e.you can all plan a family holiday to dubai and he meet you there.

Wirhin2-3 years..he should save aggressively. Buy investment in Nigeria e.g. A business. Landed property. Share holdings etc.

If he gets married...have kids....That's also ties to Nigeria too. His job...once he's been there for at least a year is also ties to Nigeria.

Then he can package his application again in 2-3yrs...and he will get it.

Now I know your instinct would be to ignore this advice and sentimental invite him for your wedding.

Trust me...if you do...he may get refused again...and his chances will slim down the more.

I've been there done that. I've seen it happen first hand. Please learn from my inlaws mistakes.

Think you got good travel history with UK and US, reapplying and getting the visa shouldn’t be a problem. Ukno wat u did wrong last time so don’t repeat it, take every document important.

Important Safeguarding points
Don’t spend 3times your disposable income
No lump sum payments in your account and if there is, make sure you explain the source with proof
I believe you are a traveller and know other things to do.

Well it’s possible either he or she wants to help you to fill and submit the form online or give it to an agent, either way you have to be the one to still submit your completed application and docs yourself

TBH you need more than BC/passport copy to apply, guess he or she trying to arrange docs for u though.

In conclusion, you are at great risk.

Tell your friend to send her supporting docs and invite to you, gather your own docs here, fill the form online and book appointment to submit.

Gurus here can help you to go through everything [/quote pls what do you mean by my collect application and documents again,I just stated he wants to do everything

It means whoever is gonna help you can only fill the form and get documents for u but you have to submit yourself.

What I referred to as risk is someone or agent tends to wanna help you and forge documents for you which could lead to 10yrs ban if caught.

You stated he’s your bf I believe you trust him though

Please whatever they gonna fill in that form pls don’t state you have bf or fiancé in UK ooo

So what’s your tie to Nigeria if you can be in the UK for 5 months, leave to dubai as decoy for 2 weeks then come back again to reenter...
evaluate what you are thinking of doing.
my dear you know the answer... or maybe you dont have plans on renewing.
I will be surprised if your visa is not cancelled at the border after you do that 2 week return.

If you do that, your visa will be cancelled right away when you try to reenter the UK the second time.

Even if you stay for 5 months, then go away for another 5 or 6 months and reappear again, they will still likely cancel your visa - unless you are retired and elderly, it will be assumed that you are taking up some form of employment.

Bottom line - don't spend more than a month if you have a tourist visa, so you appear to be one, not a shadow economy worker.

Of course you can apply for a visa with two years' validity. These are very commonly issued.

The rule your friend is probably referring to says you cannot be in the UK for more than 180 days out of one year. It is not 180 days max per visit. And one year is 365 consecutive days, not a calendar year. Any length of visit that demonstrates that you are not busy/needed in your home country is frowned at.

Best to visit according to the plan you indicated in your visa application form.

It is normal to be granted, especially if you have demonstrated that you are a good tourist/visitor. (Hope none of the "travelled twice" was for months?).
However, I suggest you put at least four months between your last visit and your next one. (To be on vacation every three months is exceptional.)
Lastly, do not take anything for granted. Prepare and apply well, as you must have done for the 6-months visa. (Don't omit any document thinking they should have it on record.)

Is Hubby a british citizen? IF yes, why don't he file for you a spousal visa? It's risky what you are doing and may end up being banned from entry. If hubby is well off, why not look at enrolling in one of the institutions over there?

You will ruin your immigration records and make it almost impossible to get another visa.

If your is British or have permanent stay then go for spouse visa after marriage.

Your husband legally or by mouth in African way ? Reason I asked is gurus will start questioning you why can’t you do spouse visa ooo I understand some do not meet minimum income requirement to apply for spouse visa, different challenges and not everyone wants to give full details.

One important question, did you state in your application you got hubby in UK ?
