Like Circa said, it all depends on the individual motives and intentions. I have friends who got US visitors visa, sold their properties in Nigeria and Jappa in US. There is a statistics out there that out of 10 Nigerians entering US with visit visa, 8 do not return. The US immigration knows that their laws have lope holes that enable many visitors to change their status and settled with time. The best they can do under the circumstances is to restrict the number of visitor visa they issue to Nigerian from Nigeria. However the Nija spirit and motivation to emigrate to greener pastures, will force many to also adopt other ways to beat the system. I know of a man and his wife, who went to the US on visit visa, enroll in a school and change status to student visa. On every occasion that I have visited the US, I have been begged to stay back by friends and family with promise of assistance to legalize my stay. The only reason why I have not jappa too is that I am too old to live illegally in another country. Or maybe the Orisha in Nigeria have always pull me back to Nigeria. Note I have renewed my US visa 4 times since 2008 and the current one will expire in November 2020.

Sir/ma, the guy has issues. I have been here for long and have seen what unintelligent his arguments and contributions are. Pls don't let the guy give u fits. He talks like his president. He calls people dog and tells them to travel and find a better life else where.

Pls ignore the guy. I hope his children learn of what a stupid and childish their supposed father is. I hear he's a us citizen and he just acts like a baby. Last time I read his moronic comments, he couldn't highlight what significance the status brings him and his kids. He says he could vote. Ode

Something strange happened to me at JFK this morning. The APC receipt printed an X over my profile information. Thereafter I proceeded to the CBP desk and was admitted for 6 months. Thereafter the CBP officer who admitted me locked up her closet and asked me to come with her to get my checked in bag. We picked it up and she took me near the exit door of terminal 4 and handed my passport over to her colleagues there (though none of them were putting on a CBP uniform). The colleague searched my bag and put it through a scanner. Then searched my body and asked for the names of people I plan to visit on this trip. After that he handed me my passport and said I can go.

I would have called this secondary inspection but I was admitted for 6 months prior to this search and they initiated no phone call or got any approval prior to letting me go. They also didnt ask for any documentation aside from counting the amount of cash I had on me. The whole delay took about 15 mins. Is this something new ? Havent been to USA since September 2019.

.

Maybe your luggage got flagged earlier and they just needed to conduct a cautionary check.
I don't think it's a big deal.
The X was probably an instruction for the CBP to check.
If they wanted to secondary inspect you, they would.

ESCORT! Because you declared having foodstuffs or at least ticked some of those stuff positive, which is normal. Routine

Anything discovered that you didn't declare means fine for you....

Data from dhs.gov Overstay report for FY 2018 puts overstay rate at 15.18% for Nigeria for NIV, that corresponds to 29000 plus out of just over 195000 entries to the US. We have never had 8 out of 10 people overstay NEVER. Your supposed statistical evidence is misinformed.
Overstay rate includes both incountry overstays and out country overstays.

I have 2 friends that won the DV Lottery.

You can't view DV lottery wins like that.
For each DV lottery winner they are a pipeline for each family member and extended family.
So 3500 winners can bring in all their spouses and children (adult married children can on that same ticket bring in their spouses and children) as well as siblings with corresponding spouses and children. So over a period of time multiple generations can come from one ticket.

Nigeria has already exceeded 50,000 number hence the end of the program, when you consider our numbers in the US, DV lotteries contribution to that is appreciable

Few things happened;

1) you had a muslim name
2) you traveled with raw food
3) the airline randomly flagged you
4) they suspected you to be a drug mule
5) CBP system flagged you because you visited U.S twice within 6 months.
etc

Only God can judge...even our Supreme Court go review this injustice tire...

Albeit said in jest, I am of the opinion that there is 100% veracity to your post. I have said it a couple of times here that a workman is "worthy of his hire" according to incorporeal laws that govern our existence. Our forefathers put in an honest days work for which their descendants will collect their just recompense. Whether America likes it or not, that pay day is coming. The day is coming that they will share this thing they call visa like gala.

Who sold the slave to them? we've been enslaving ourselves before European set foot on Africa. Not saying slavery is good, in short Africa should be compensated.
N.B For your information, most slave trade transaction were made between European and an African Chief before they ship the slave to the New World, Brazil and the Caribbean and sold them for profit to the Americas (North & South)
