Who's this fellow? So if I decided to have my whole roof covered with solar panels is it anyone's business but mine? |

Dam5reey: You need comfortably 4-5 thousand watt solar panel array 16 nos of 200ah batteries To secure 14hrs backup without sunlight And the day hrs are covered So 24/7 over covered Dm me at my signature whatsapp no for the break down. Jekitech.com |

emyfine08: You start with Analysis & Design. Analyse the loads, existing electrical infrastructure, potential sites of installation, power demand patterns, energy time of use. Design from the batteries, to solar production, to the power control & conversion hardware, and the monitoring software.. You want 3000W for 24 hours, whatever it costs?! With respect to truthbetold2, we will accept that you have prior needful for energy efficiency measures. On to the mathematics! 3000W x 24hours = 72000Wh/day or 72kWh that must come from energy storage and or solar power, via the inverters. "Come rain or shine (kongo?)" means prepare for 2-3 days autonomy, so minimum of 2x72kWh = 144kWh of storage batteries. To save space, money and complexity, you will likely want lithium-based storage, rather than lead-acid storage. Assuming 5kWh-usable LiFePO4 ESS packs that you can pre-order from RITILITY, 144/5 = 28-30 units. If you go with Pylontech 2.4kWh ESS, you will need 60. If BYD 13.8kWh, you will need 10-12. You will probably prefer high-voltage (HV) DC storage and inverters rather than 48v (51.2v/56v) which is low voltage (LV) DC. A single RITILITY 60kW/180kWh ESS would be sufficient. But HV inverter systems prefer to be not on Nigeria’s bad-grid. So its back to three-phase 48VDC and you are effectively paying for a micro-grid solution. You then need enough solar PV panels and charge converters to BOTH carry your daytime loads during average 5 sunlight hours per day. For your size, a combination of DC-coupling AND AC-coupling should be in the design. Your solar needs to produce 77kwh / 5 PSH/day, or about 15-16kW per day. Allow for clouds and birds, You are now in NiyiOmolyunade’s territory. Solar components vary greatly in the quality of build and efficiency. Assuming a solid, conservative brand such as JASolar or TrinaSolar, and using the 330W panel as example. Do you have enough space on your roof, or in your compound to fit the panels?! Next, you pick your inverters: LV, HV, All-in-one, off-grid, on-grid, hybrid? Control and monitoring software? Battery Cell-level? Remote monitoring? Remote support? Mounting and cable routing? Back-up gensets, with automatic start-stop? AC electrical distribution? Maintenance and repair care plan? Strongly recommended! Contact me for an Audit and Design, and Quotation for your project. The cost is fully deductible if you retain us to do your EPC. 7 Likes 1 Share |

dear solasola and truthbetold, what the both of you said is unfair. never has anyone on this forum with a large array questioned or insulted anyone's small array/system. these older guys are usually very willing to help others. if you haven't seen houses that need such systems, I have, but still, that is not sufficient reason to basically insult their choice of an electricity system. please do not drive these men away from this thread with your bad attitude. they try out new innovation with their system which gives us the courage to try it out on our smaller systems. And please, truthbetold, stop with the foul language, it makes you look bad 2 Likes |

solasola: That AE thingy is somehow. An order that I've placed for over 3 weeks has remained unshipped till now. I've had to open trade dispute for some other items that have not arrived and the purchase protection had ran out. I understand their constraint, really and even I myself will wanna be careful about getting stuffs from there after I experienced some episode of flu around early January when I took delivery of some (like 12 large parcels) items. I didn't have a face mask on or used gloves. The only conscious IPC protocol I observed was to avoid touching my face with my hands thru and also made sure to wash my hands when I was thru with opening the parcels. But a week later, I experienced the type of sore throat and catarrh that I haven't had in a long time, even with serious headaches. I was scared and literarily avoided families and friends for the 10 days that I had that flu. It may just be the ordinary flu that comes with the hash harmattan but hey, I had reasons to link the parcels to the flu one week after, in my own mind o. I read that parcels from China being a vehicle for the transmision of the Covid-19 is very remote, but I won't take chances either. |

truthbetold22:Eskiss sah, can you outline your daily energy requirements that subsist on your 3000 watts and peeps will help you to analyse if your 3kw is good enough. You shouldn't really talk that way about someone who decides to power air conditioners, deep freezers, pumping machine, heaters and much more on solar. Abi is it possible for someone to power all that on 3kw array? Please sah, tell me if it's possible o and how I can go about it because me too want to learn so that you won't call me "dense and proud" with big solar installation. 1 Like |

Dkev: Why d'you think they'd be driven away by that comment? They are part of veterans that have manned and kept this thread alive for hundreds of pages and you think they'd be rattled by a newcomer? Haba. Dem Niyi and co are comrades on this forum and I am sure they'll see things as the Yorubas will put it - Ìtì ògèdè ni, kò tó ohun à ñ yo àdá sí Translated - It's an incosequential matter that does not require losing sleep over. And honestly, I'm just catching my fun reading truthbetold's diatribes. 2 Likes |

ceaser: Most y'all are simply getting Truthbetold wrong. The 3000w thing is just an example he gave. Just like someone said up there... "about the mansion and room self contained thing" In Truthbetold's argument, why should you build a mansion with several furnished/equipped rooms when you can only be in one room at a time and enjoy whatever you need. The other rooms remain locked and starts gathering dust. It's always good to do more to leave room for eases but he thinks its overdone. 3 Likes |

ceaser: Even sellers are super slow to respond to questions asked. The COVID-19 has really dealt a heavy blow to China's commerce and industry. You'll be lucky to have goods bought shipped under a week. I have one pending for the last 15 days, I can't cancel as there is no other store selling it. Shopping now is now for the extreme patient people. Things now move at a snail's pace. But if your country is under quarantine, that is to be expected |

Again, Niyi can simply prove me wrong by providing a list of all his appliances. I ll happily do an energy audit.. As is normal with the black man, waste is a way of life.. |

I had quite some catching up to do. Lets put all the rant of this fellow to rest. This poverty mentality is mind boggling . How does it affect anyone what others spend their money on? An empty drum they say..... This guy is searching for cheap popularity. We all have history on nairaland, when you check some peeps own. Then you understand where they are coming from. Am off to sleep with my lovely family in my 12 hectares mansion. lol. Ehnn Some will be sad that i live in a mansion like that o. 2 Likes |

truthbetold22:O fe gbo bebe Oro abi? silence they say is golden, do not reply a fool, but you might need to reply to show him his foolishness. Our histories in nairaland and other forums says it all. I do not have to brag here with a faceless moniker but atimes it is good to set matters straight. If i look for a 5k or 20k business to start means nothing at all and does not affect anyone. You should ask when was that and what i have made of it. That you went to med school in germany does not mean you should have no iota of common sense. Spilling trash all over nairaland and causing commotion up and down in various sections. Or is that what they thought you in med school? Referring to another as making stupid purchases? You obviously have low self esteem and have terrible language manners. If i have a 20k business and it helped my get married with wonderful kids, have a house and other investments, and can also make 1/2 a million purchase in renewable energy, while my bsc degree from oba awon university rots in a file there. Its been a wonderful 20k business then. Grow up boy. 8 Likes |
