The Economic and financial crime commission (EFCC) has announced via the commission’s verified Twitter Account that it has arrested a blogger identified Mr Dikeocha Chukwuebuka who published a fake tweet purported to be the commission’s cell in Portharcourt.

The Port Harcourt Zonal Head of the Commission, Mr Usman Imam who announced the arrest while briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt today, February 27, 2020 said the suspect was picked up at about 4pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 .

Describing the report as most embarrassing he said “I want to assure the suspect and indeed the media, that the Commission will follow through this investigation and ensure that justice is served in accordance with the law,”

He also urged social media influence’s to be weary of fake news.

Recall that EFCC had on February 12, 2020 vowed to apprehend the promoter of a report in the social media, which falsely claimed that the Commission’s holding facility is overcrowded, while detainees are allegedly subjected to mistreatment.

In the photo that went viral on social media, Mr Dikeocha Chukwuebuka with Twitter handle @TheRealDayne claimed that the photo was EFCC’s detention center and that suspects were treated with contempt

Whether it is EFCC P.H holding facility or not, we Nigerians are still interested in knowing the source of that image. The image needs to be investigated and it is a good one that the source has been invited arrested by the authorities. Anyways, the benefits of having your business registered are quite many. For CAC Company or Business Name registration, Foundation, Schools, Church, NGO, Trademark, TIN, SCUML, NAFDAC number etc, talk to us at www. Lawlab. Com. Ng

How is the guy's crime if indeed true even related to economic or financial crimes?

So, the EFCC will play both judge and jury in her own case.

It is well.

Oppression!!!

The tweet is not fake until EFCC disproves it by showing us their facilities in Port Harcourt and South South as a whole

Why didn't they tell us which other agency the detention center belongs to? EFCC be bold come out clean.

Nigerians are just too gullible, imagine an entire agency of government with guns, manpower and connection arrests a poor nobody what do you expect he will say? Or do? Of cos he will be reading their script.

Efcc's duty is financial crimes and advance fee fraud not fake news read the Act that established EFCC it didn't give them such powers to arrest just anybody especially for fake news.

What I am finding so interesting is the fact that the building in said tweet is acknowledged to belong to another agency. So the basic fact of something not looking quite all right with the way the security apparatus treats Nigerian citizens remains glaringly unanswered.

The internet is anonymous, abi? Trolls should continue deceiving themselves. Those who believe hacking into the pentagon is as easy as mashing buttons very fast on keyboards will believe they are untraceable online. Get on a selected authority’s wrong side and they’ll flush you out of your village. This is just a local example. If it was the CIA he wronged based on Yahoo Yahoo they’ll capture and extradite him in the cover of night, even his immediate family will have no idea what happened.

That picture is sad. See humans crammed like sardines. My God, the African is an animal.
