kokanepyramid: The matter tire me bro. That was how everybody was forming patriotism on top Tammy Abraham head too. Wetin vex me pass be say most people wey dey codedly process PR to cross enter Canada sef follow join the talk. Anybody who follows what's happening in the Nigerian Sporting circle sef will know it just doesn't make sense having oneself enmeshed in all the politicking and power play between sports ministry, NFF and waht have you. Sports administration for one is shiiit in this country.....Recently there is a case of Daniel Amokachi being appointed director of Football and then denial of the same appointment by NFF. Then there is a case of Joseph Yobo being imposed on Gernot Rohr to join his team as an assistant coach. The question is why will a player leave England where things are sane and come down here to play in such toxic environment where off the field activities and politicking can affect your game play? |

sod09: As in I tire. Word on the street had it that most of the super Eagles share their match bonus finish at the airport anytime they are back from an international match. From the point they touch down in naija, the immigration officers( Those damn beggers), steward, FAAN officials etc will make demands on them and before you know it the money is exhausted. Even some NFF officals sef follow dey beg dem money o. That is why they usually insist on being paid cash at the venue of the match before even leaving for their hotels because they use the money to settle at the airport or else ur luggage go just miss ![]() Anyways, I heard only Okocha in his days (and even till now) was adjudged to be very stingy and usually refuses to part with any dime. Baba will just carry face up and use zobo face rough am. ![]() Just Imagine ! 1 Like |

Jodera:Under the month of review Aubameyang should win it. In fact it's Auba's superior positioning that makes Saka thrive this much not to talk of his goals. I Even though I would vote Saka because he is so young and promising I know Aubameyang merits it. |

Kbs468:What are the prospects? That's the fundamental question. England are very segregative when it comes to choosing adopted Africans into having long careers in their NT. They may colonise the player by giving him a 'debut' but I am yet to see or think of a black with an African name doing it long term for England. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by BlueRayDick: 12:15pm On Feb 27, 2020 |
Spy360: That is because those players don't stay at the top level for that long. No serious national team will guarantee a player(Irrespective of his form) permanent spot in the team even when he dips in form. At least not England that has enough talents being discovered yearly. Let a blackman stay on the top scene for long at the club level and let's see if he won't keep his place in the team. Most people only think opting for African teams will be the best because we kind of celebrate mediocrity and enjoy living on past glory in this part of the world 2 Likes 1 Share |

BlueRayDick:not supporting saka playing for Nigeria or not, but I feel your opinion doesn't give a clearer pictures of the gulf in quality between the 2 teams. Now you talk of emenike and the likes not called up. So I ask, what club were they playing for, and why are they not called up?. Most of these guys, Nigerians don't Even know their club sef, and if you check well, dem still dey chop bench for that club. Lol. Mikel was a chronic benchwarmer in Chelsea, yet he sees shirt anytime Nigeria have a match. Why because, he is in Chelsea. As long as you're in a top club in in any of the top 5 leagues, even if you dey warm bench steady, you go surely play for naija. That can't be said if you're an England interest. Even the muller wey dey see shirt small small sef still dey Bayern. Most of the guys you called no dey any big club at all. Or you think say if Ahmed Musa dey England, dem go still dey call am by now? Wen him dey Saudi? Lolzzz |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Spy360(m): 1:52pm On Feb 27, 2020 |
BlueRayDick:There are guys in the England NT that still play despite dropping form. Eg Chiwell but because he isn't adopted, he can play on. I am not saying they are racist, but if you're gonna play for England for long, you either change your African name from Bukayo to Bucks. Lol Also blacks have their problems and so do whites. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by BlueRayDick: 1:55pm On Feb 27, 2020 |
Jodera: I really do not understand you, but what I said was clear. Most people think if players like Tomori, Tammy and Saka opt for naija, they stand a chance of winning AFCON, playing longer on the international scene and other assumptions. What I've only done is to mention Nigerian players who won AFCON 7 years ago but less than 2 years after the feat a whole lot of them couldn't make the team. Why ? because of their dip in form in their respective clubs, moving to a lower/less lucrative league etc. These factors will make you lose you place in the English national team as well whether you are green, blue, white or black. Mikel getting called is an absurdity that shouldn't have happened but this is Nigeria and that is how we do things. All I'm saying is if a player stays top of his game for long, he will surely see more playing time for his national team England or any other country. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by BlueRayDick: 2:09pm On Feb 27, 2020 |
Spy360: This is mere fallacy jare Chilwell was called to the national team in september 2018, between that period and now they have played 15 matches while Chilwell has only featured in 11 of those. If things were to be the way you put it, then maybe he should've started all 15 matches na. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Jodera: 3:02pm On Feb 27, 2020 |
BlueRayDick:The bolded is what I'm talking about, which I agree with. Summary of what I'm saying is.. If someone like saka drops his form to 50%(god forbid tho), he might lose his England shirt but will be guaranteed shirts 100% in Nigerian color. Even if he's loaned out to any EPL team. As long as he's still in EPL, he will always see shirt unlike if he played in England NT. Those 7 guys you gave as example are people whom have gone into obscurity in clubs. Clubs wey sometimes nfpl better pass, so you don't expect naija to call them. The long and short of it is that, it depends on your form. While England NT, you need a high standard. But in Nigeria, even 50% of your form guarantees your longevity in the national team.... As long as you're still in a known club. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by BlueRayDick: 3:36pm On Feb 27, 2020 |
Jodera: A player who is sure of himself will opt for England ahead of Nigeria 100 times. A player like Pogba with self confidence has world cup to show for his choice toaday. He is by far better than any other player of African descent that opted to play for their country of origin. |

Spy360: U mention one african player that stayed in the limelight for so long but was dropped by cause of his black skin ![]() I already told u the reason why the players don't get to play for the NT on a long term basis; it's simply because they fizzle out along the line and sometimes they even become non-starters in their club. U mentioned chilwell earlier, if tomorrow Leicester gets a record signing left back and Chilwell is relegated to the bench, do u think England will call him like u are claiming? |

The £159m Arsenal windfall that could fund summer deals for Thomas Partey and Dayot Upamecano Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta will undoubtedly be busy in the summer transfer market, but he may have to sell players to raise the necessary funds to sign key targets Arsenal appear to be on the right track under Mikel Arteta, with three wins in a week highlighting the improvement which has taken place on the pitch. There still much to play for this season, despite the turmoil of Unai Emery's sacking and Arteta's delayed appointment as his replacement. On the domestic front, a winnable tie against Portsmouth stands between the Gunners and a FA Cup quarter-final, while the Europa League campaign remains on track. But Arteta will know that a big summer lies ahead, with a potential squad overhaul needed to maximise what Arsenal can achieve in his first full season in charge. Despite remaining unbeaten since the turn of the year, there are still major areas in need of improvement, including central midfield and centre-back. There is no doubt that several players are likely to be sold in the summer, with some not part of Arteta's plans or already out on loan. We're not positive about Kolasinac injury - Arteta Shkodran Mustafi was close to leaving the club in January, but the Arsenal boss decided to keep the World Cup winner until the end of the campaign. The decision has paid off, with Mustafi much improved in recent weeks in the heart of defence alongside David Luiz. But there has been interest in the centre-back from Italy and Turkey, and it would not be a surprise if he is sold, especially given the loan arrival of Pablo Mari from Flamengo, and return of William Saliba. The 27-year-old German could command a fee of around £13.5million, according to his valuation on TransferMarkt, which would be added to any funds given to Arteta in the summer. Fellow centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos is also a potential candidate to be moved on, given his age. The Greece international turns 32 in June, and if his valuation of £16.2million were to be met, a bid is unlikely to be rejected by the Arsenal hierarchy. Elsewhere, Sead Kolasinac has enjoyed a brief renaissance under Arteta, but with his injury problems and high wages taken in consideration, plus the options of Kieran Tierney and emergence of Bukayo Saka, a sale would not be a surprise in the slightest. Mohamed Elneny and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are both currently on loan at Besiktas and Roma respectively, and look certain to be moved on if buyers can be found. Indeed, Roma want to turn Mkhitaryan's loan deal into a permanent one, head coach Paulo Fonseca has confirmed. A deal taking the former Manchester United playmaker to the Stadio Olimpico could see the Gunners pocket a fee in the region of £10m. That was the figure which Forza Roma reported was rejected during the January transfer window. The big conundrum for Arsenal lies with the future of captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The striker's contract expires in the summer of 2021, but Head of Football Raul Sanllehi has previously warned that key players will not be allowed to leave the club for free. If a new deal cannot be agreed with Aubameyang, the Gunners could cash in on their prized asset to fund a replacement, rather than lose him for nothing. Barcelona are reportedly interested in a summer move, and there will not be a lack of interest in last season's Premier League Golden Boot winner. If all those players were to be sold, that is a projected amount of around £158.87million, based on their total valuations. The fees would fund new arrivals to supplement a squad boasting young, exciting talent like William Saliba, Gabriel Martinelli, Saka and Emile Smith Rowe, while talented players yet to reach their peak like Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira and Nicolas Pepe will also likely make up Arteta's strongest first XI next year. RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano remains a long-term target and a summer bid could be on the cards, although the Gunners will reportedly face competition from Barcelona, Manchester City and Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, reports in Spain claim Arsenal are interested in activating the £42m release clause of Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey. It could be one of the most exciting, and crucial, summer transfer windows for Arsenal in recent history. |

Kbs468:Yes Nigeria is that bad! What do you expect him to achieve playing for Nigeria? He has a better chance at winning international awards and laurels playing for England even if he doesn’t win any trophy with England. Atleast England can take him as far as semifinal of the euros and World Cup. Nigeria will hold him back, that’s the simple truth. 1 Like |

mostob:What do you mean by better treatment? I guess better treatment to you is: Not being provided with good training facilities, having to transport yourself to match locations with your own money, generally being under-appreciated etc. If Saka is the best in his position in the squad then he will start, the fact that there are many people who can take his place in the squad will make him work harder to get into the first team and Arsenal will reap from this as well because as he gets better for England, he gets better for Arsenal. What’s there to challenge him in Nigeria? That corruption ridden country? I love Nigeria because it’s my fatherland but I will never advice anyone to play for Nigeria when you have a better option in England. If Tomori deserves to start, he’ll start. Will you even start Tomori for Nigeria with this his current form? The fact that England will drop him if he drops form should be a motivator for him to work harder. Do you expect them to keep playing him if he loses form and there are other players who are doing better. If he doesn’t want to be dropped, then he’ll work extra hard. |
