Forbes are predicting a recession

Ebuka u should've put up the full article or better still, the link, so folks can draw a better inference therein.
Putting up just a small part of the write-up is tantamount to telling someone that a drink is sour, before even serving it to them. ...allow them to drink it 1st, and make their own judgements. wink cheesy grin

Like I said in the past, I agree with some of ur inputs. ...but also disagree with some. Particularly with the quest to time the market.

Na 4% ooooo grin grin

The market still has some downside to make.

FPI go fear sell to us. We go buy and sell to them afterwards.

I wish I was still in PH, I could have shown you what I am looking to draw inferences.

Like i have always discussed with you, na the effect of Contagion dey worry us here. Any time there is a major crisis, FPI go pick race worldwide and they will sell down on all EMs.

You can't see soliders running at Ojuelegba and we civilians remain. You will run and ask questions later grin

And some playing god because of market down turn.Pls post them and ignore any noise from any person. Is a faceless forum with equal opinion.

Bro, I don't think anybody is playing god as u put it.
Even some of the current bear forecasters(like oracle) is making sense with some of his post. ...though relative to what they perceive will play out.
The way to go is to look to sieve from every input here, permute from the ones u need and then relate them to ur market playing strategy to achieve ur goal at any given time.

Like I said before; Both the BULL and BEAR mkt can make u money if u know ur way around it. ...but the latter, can deliver even more !!
The KEY is to look to assign a working STRATEGY to ur PERSONALITY and match it with ur INVESTMENT HORIZON.

...am sure u can decipher what I mean.

Look at the ichimoku chart of Dow. This is how most of the indices in other world markets are.

Oyibos will fake a rise because Dow has entered oversold. Dow will reverse but Nwanne na trap.

Dow just went to Julius Berger to rent a digger! grin grin

I just stumbled on this; I hope you have sorted it out? I did mine through GTBank and it worked. To my surprise, I had outstanding dividends from Red Star Express since around 2007-09!

Thanks. I re-submitted. I don’t know which worked but I now receive for UCAP. Access still proves not easy to process.

Amid the rapid spread of the coronavirus outbreak around the world, Vietnam has announced that all 16 infected patients in the country were discharged from hospital and declared cured.

As of Wednesday, all 16 patients, including the oldest who is 73, had been cured and discharged from the hospital.

For the past 15 days, including on Friday, the government also detected no new cases of infections, the last one having been reported on February 13, even as a village north of Hanoi remains under a 20-day lockdown.

"If fighting COVID-19 has been a war, then we have won the first round

The thing I was thinking aside the divergence in prices was a bank run in China and possibly a global recession as a result of that. I discussed this with my Ogas (Wanaj) and with CP (though recession only) . In 2019, China has had 4 bank runs. I drew a parallel to what happened in 2008 financial crisis where before the crisis started around March 2008, there was a bank run in the UK (Northern Rock). So I asked myself, why is the same thing repeating before 2020. And I ran a check on all indices worldwide. Most of them were at ATH. Most higher than it were in 2008.

I said to myself if January 2020 comes with a bull that I had been waiting for, I will check the volumes. If there is no hoarding of shares (hallmark of bullish stage) but a huge volume, my dear I will run. I watched the volume in the first week, I saw huge volumes. I was not convinced until 2nd week. The volumes were huge. I had to leave the bus. I can't come and go and kee myself.

Instead of bank run, it was Coronavirus. However the problems are still there in China which could trigger a run. Businesses closed. Some are reopening. These took loans for their businesses. What impact will these have on banks. NPLs will grow. Banks will be pressured. If banks are pressured, and state must intervene. Where there is no quick interventions, banks may collapse and a run starts. If there is a run in China, the creditors are in pressure. This becomes global. And oso abiola happens. Everyone straight to his village.

This Virus is making it very likely.
I love that nice research and probability. Truly it's always good to research, I have chose to leave bear related news, because many don't want to hear about it. Then I choose the part of bull, because investors will always win through their dividend irrespective of fall and rise in stock price.

NSE will witness massive bear come 2022 ending/ early part of 2023 election period.

Corona virus will die natural death like Ebola, all these disease outbreak are like 10 Plagues of Egypt; The plagues are: water turning to blood, frogs, lice, flies, livestock pestilence, boils, hail, locusts, darkness and the killing of firstborn children.

Each has their own time and expiring date, once one fulfill it purposes another one takes over, and one taking over will seem to be more deadly than the previous one.

Corona virus will soon come to an end, most companies will likely report bad q1 result this 2020.

Reading from the side line, I can not help but laugh at some input from certain analysts and investors alike. grin grin grin
Its almost natural that in times like these, u tend to see 3 categories of investors;

1) Those who would look to exaggerate RISK by spreading the FEAR gospel, so they can get assets at a cheap in their quest to time the market.
2) Those who would be infested by the 1st group and become so engrossed with too many extrapolations that they end up missing out on some clear opportunities.
AND
3) Those who can manage to alienate FEAR from RISK, avoid timing the market and shrewdly seek REWARD by tapping from any great opportunity in between.

So you expected someone with money to hold it from August 2019 (GTB at 24+) despite GTB hitting 33 in January 2020?

VWAP or whatever you call it will miss some peaks that could have given you good profits.

You forgot he gave a 6-week timeline.

UCAP is Afriprud. Access is United Securities; I know I processed that signature specimen with my stockbroker about a month-2 months before processing the e-dividend with GTBank and it worked. Whether the signature specimen had anything to do with it, I can not tell

I agree. I think I'll just hang in there and chop my Zenith Bank dividend. I'll probably use some of it to buy more shares at low prices, and use some to vacation for a month in the Caribbean and heal from all my NSE
wounds. smiley

Please we need to respect each other's opinion and stop attacking whether or not it favours us. Most people here suffered and are suffering the effect of the bears because they rejected the message and ridiculed the messenger.

If we had asked onifa (Rabbidoracle) what he saw and why he told us to sell he would have explained what he wrote yesterday to us and probable we would not have been this beaten by the market. Rather we attacked him and he went to guest mode and here we are. Also, Mesship said GT will crash to N19 and we attacked him and chased him away. Today, how far is GT from N19? We should have rather pressurised him to explain further. Who knows, he might be an onifa with a shrine somewhere or part of the team that pushed out corona virus. Some will attack and go back to discuss privately with the messenger thus depriving others of vital information only to benefit later from the message.

Please let us be patient with ourselves, the stock market has a mind of its own and highly unpredictable so those who are analytical, observant and experienced should be encouraged. If we want to hear what we want to hear then there is no reason to be here.

Thanks.
