Commentor:U be fool by comparing Buhari actions on boko haram to the Trump plan. Are talibans living in the US? Is the agreement going to favour Trump or Afghanistan? Reason with your brain. Don't let ur stupid love u have for Buhari affects the way you reason. 1 Like |

gaetano: But the Taliban is precisely like Boko Haram: 1. They were brutal and murderous to the Afghans who don't follow their strict islamist rules 2. They forbade western education (exactly what "boko haram" means), and have murdered school children and bombed schools 3. They instituted shari'a punishments, including stoning to death and flogging and cutting off limbs 4. They suppressed women 5. They terrorized the civilian population 6. They attack the Afghan military and police 7. They seize goods and properties of people 8. They harbored al qaeda In fact the last point is the reason the US invaded Afghanistan, after they asked the Taliban to kick out osama and his merry band of terrorists. The Taliban want to return to their "caliphate" and resume their terrible and terrorist ideology of islamist suppression. |

Sodiquinone: not a defeat for the US but a victory for common sense. the Afghan war was just a means for the hawks and neo-cons to enrich their buddies - in the military industrial complex and contractors at lockheed martin. why do you think Trump fell out with John Bolton? that is why the deep state are after him - some powerful men in America want the US to be in endless conflicts and war because it means there will be billions of dollars lining their pockets each year- without war these powerful men can’t make money so think- this is why they are fighting Trump!! it’s not about the US surrendering - it’s about cutting off the cash cow of these powerful individuals osama was killed almost 9 years ago and he was the main reason Afghanistan was invaded so why is the US still there? this war ending is 9 years overdue 3 Likes |

Sodiquinone: I've said it somewhere that the last war the US played a part in winning was world war 2, since then it's been s string of losses. But their propaganda machine would have people believe they're some cosmic superpower. |

Baba read the article again. The Talibans have always asked for it. Again, the statement said "we will come back like never before if things go bad again " |
Re: US Signs Peace Deal With Afghanistan's Taliban After 18 Years Of War by Openbusiness: 8:14am On Mar 01, 2020 |
Malcolm123:Losing 2400 soldiers in 18 years = 134 soldiers (approx) per year = 11 soldiers per month. That is still a very good statistics military wise fighting on enemy soil, and enemy territory. And considering that the Taliban has suffered heavier casualties on their side, probably over a hundred thousand but trust the western governments to downplay the figures. How many Nigerian soldiers has bokoharam killed in Nigeria (their own country and territory) in the past one year? Going by all the news on the media etc, it is definitely more that 2400, being slaughtered back to back in their own backyard. Yet you are worried about the US military losses, no please, worry about Nigerian troops and may God help them and save them from the incompetent government directing their affairs. |

imam07: Hindsight is always 20/20 The truth is, from past experience, countries fighting insurgency like the US did in foreign lands either fight a total war of genocidal destruction, or end up negotiating and withdrawing 1.US went to Vietnam...in 1956...and in 1973...withdrew with a peace deal that in essence handed the country to the enemies they were fighting. 2.UK fought a war with Kenyan revolutioaries from 1953-60..they 'won',...and then granted Kenya independence by 1962...which meant the fighting was in vain... 3.France successfully beat the FLN in 1958...and then granted independence in 1962..and handed over...to the same FLN. 4.Russia fought in the same Afghanistan from 1979-89...and then left their weak puppet government to be beaten by the same Muhajjiden they were fighting (the Taliban were part of that Muhajjideen then). 5.The UK fought two wasted wars in that same Afghanistan in the 19th century. and ended up leaving the Afghnas alone. So, IMHO...the US had no business in Afghanistan. At the end of the day, Afghanistan is not called 'the graveyard of empries' for nothing. They should have learned from the Russians and the UK, and their own past mistakes in Vietnam. (And no, I don't back or excuse the Taliban, or Al Qaeda.) 2 Likes |

Sheriman: Really? Weren't they the government before the US invaded them in 2001? Don't they practice the same excesses and brutality in suppressing human rights and women, and banning democracy and education at the pain of death? Weren't they running a repressive society that promoted archaic laws such as stoning to death, public execution for adultery, killing students, etc? Didn't they host Osama and Al Aqaeda, who planned and executed 9-11 from Afghanistan, and that was why they were invaded? The Taliban is the very definition of a terrorist organization and the US considers them as such. 1 Like |

Neoteny: Look there's no difference between them and Northern Nigeria. We know how the North operates so we let them be, if they want sharia, they should restrict it to their territory and not on all Nigerians. This is same with most Muslim countries so the world should let them be. After all UAE and Saudi have embraced change now. So it's best not to interfere. As for AL qaeda, it's USA created and trained, headed by Osama. Osama was working for the CIA then later went rogue, that's when the terrorists tag came. So USA created alqaeda. |

itsme01:Does the bolded make sense to you? Why don't you just support Biafra then if you think breaking up Nigeria for shekau is not a bad idea. Or is it because Nnamdi Kanu and his boys have not been blowing stuff up? I hope with that misstatement you can agree that there's a fundamental difference between what US did and what it will mean if Nigeria were to do same with BH |

Rebelutionary: It depends on how you understand th word negotiations. Did you read anything like repentant Taliban? But you read where Trump said " if anything bad thing happens again they will see force like no other one. Since 2001 did you read or hear the US treats them with Kids gloves? Don't compare our attitudes towards Boko Haram with the US. Support Buhari and APC but look at Boko Haram as your forever enemies. Mark my words today, Boko Haram will never finish with the type of attitudes we are showing. Have you ever hard Afghan sending repentant Taliban to school abroad? By so doing you are inviting the youths to go and join, afterall, their life will be better off. The difference is that, Buhari sees it as helping the Northern youths. |

Commentor:Just state it clearly that you support the implementation of sharia throughout Nigeria. You don't need to hide under US. We know most of you buharideens are closet supporters of shekau. There's no need lamenting on his behalf, or drumming up support for efforts to normalise him as an everyday thing either. He's richer and well recognised more than you by this govt. So off with the mask!! Let's see your real face. |

Agboriotejoye: No one is stopping Ipob from becoming a republic, what we are telling them is to get their senators and reps to negotiate the deal, rather than constituiting nuisance all around cyber space.. the deal for Bokoharam, sambisa is a virgin land outside our territory just like bakassi and quite frankly nobody gives two fvccks about sambisa.. unlike Biafra which is within current Nigerian territory with Nigerian assets currently in the zone, so dialogue and negotiation is needed for biafraexit and not noise , chestbeating, podcast and broadcast insulting Yoruba and Fulani, or kanu sayin yorubas are working with facebook to undermine his Biafra, when in fact we are busy with our own amotekun 2 Likes 2 Shares

Commentor:The zombie is the one that compares a terrorist on his own soil to an insurgent in another land all in a bid to canonise the terrorists. Assuming that US does negotiate with terrorists, does that mean we should too? Especially on our own land? Where then is our sense of national pride and patriotism if a group that seeks to change our system of governance by violence is embraced? What is the difference between that and treason? Shekau is a Nigerian, fighting a religious war to change the constitution of Nigeria. His victims are also Nigerians. Let that sink into your head. 1 Like |
