Abagworo if I slap you now with back hand, you go remove that wikipedia concoction from here. Useless old man. Imo state is at the bottom when it comes to real GDP released by NBS.

Does prostitution grow GDP? No

Do you have industrial presence? No

Do you have commercial presence? No

Does brothels for your Imo prostitutes grow GDP? No

What's it that you have in Imo state except prostitution that can generate revenue or grow GDP? Nothing.

Bruv Economics

High cost of living does not mean the people living in an area has higher disposable income, especially when wages are not different. It simply means people spend more on less.

I don't think a factory worker or state government worker in Anambra earns more than those in Oyo state. The current Minimum wage is 30k across the federation.

If you buy bread for N200 in Anambra and I buy the same bread or N100 in ibadan out of my own minimum wage. Please can you tell me who is actually living better?

The issue of North does not hold water because of the high rate poverty due to lack of education and skilled workforce majority of the wealth is concentrated in the hands of the few.

Abuja has a lot of Government workers than earns in millions

Lagos has a lot multinations and also serves as headquarters of many businesses in Nigeria with executive that earns in millions

Rivers has a lot of oil mogul and petroleum related industries

Please do not compare Anambra to this states.

States in the East are better positioned because we control trade and commerce in Nigeria. Here in the East, we see civil servants as broke people while in the west they are seen as rich. Majority of the populace here are into commerce and trade as well as service industry, and they can afford to pay higher rent.

If you build expensive houses in a place like Ibadan, lack of patronage will force the owner to lower the rents. Price is determined by the forces of demand and supply. In the long run, it will deter other investors from building such. That's why we have lots of dilapidated buildings all over Ibadan. Such decrepit buildings are in high demand because they are what the locals can afford to pay.

You mean the majority of the west with just a stone throw away from the hub of trade and commerce in Nigeria(Lagos) are not even involved in trade or commerce.

Wonderful!

And What makes a house expensive?

It's like you have never built a house before, the cost of land pushes the cost of building to an incredible amount.

Land is not at premium in ibadan even though there are lands that are quite expensive, although I won't get into the details here.

We have many buildings in ibadan, if only you travel often you would have been able to make an informed analysis.

The old houses you love to masturbate over serves as villages to most indigenous people in ibadan and some of those buildings are over 200 years old.

And those houses are not up to 20% of the building in ibadan.

I don't understand why people just argue for arguing sake....Ibadan from Bidija to Challenge to Molete is a dead beat city ..it's a city that is made up of mostly old dilapidated houses and mind you it was a regional capital

Onitsha has never been a state capital or regional capital and Onitsha has evolved and merged with many towns ...it's called conurbation.

Cities merge to give a greater city....eastern cities are merging and growing in leaps and bounds same with Owerri

conurbation
/ˌkɒnəˈbeɪʃ(ə)n/
Learn to pronounce
noun
an extended urban area, typically consisting of several towns merging with the suburbs of a central city.
"the major

Onitsha is the third largest city today in Nigeria and the first built up city in Nigeria and west Africa

Why argue the obvious

The urban agglomeration of Onitsha in Nigeria officially has a population of 1.1 million but Africapolis estimates that in reality the urban agglomeration spreads over an area 80 times larger than the city itself with a population of 8.5 million.

An update will be provided in 2020 with new census data, improved methodology and tools.

Go to NBS website, search for latest NBS states nominal GDP, it's five years computation, what you posted isn't reliable, Nigeria economy was rebased in April 2014 to be able to get reliable and accurate GDP, Nigeria government are now trying to make states GDP available, 22 states are out it still remaining Lagos and others, only Anambra and Ebonyi are out from east

GDP figures are meant to change and there's nothing to suggest Anambra and Abia contributes more financial transaction than Ogun state like you earlier suggested.
