As at my last appointment on Wednesday 26th Feb, I was scheduled to remove the cerclage on Tuesday 3rd March.
On Saturday morning, I woke up noticing that I had started losing my mucus plug so I got mildly excited that it was happening. I made vegetable soup and okro soup for the house, even unripe plantain porridge for myself lol.
Pre-labour contractions began on/off at about 2pm, and at 9pm we arrived at the hospital.....at least so they can remove the cerclage.
About 9.30pm, I was quickly moved into the theatre room and they started looking for cerclage but no way...it had grown into my skin and was not easily seen. So the doc decided to wait for labour to progress so she can push it downwards with labour pressure.
I was moved back to my room to continue labour. Contractions came back to back and I asked for epidural but the Specialist was not around and will not be coming in till the morning.
I was in A LOT of pain. I laid down, stood up, went to the restroom, vomited my breakfast lol. All these...they didn't want to keep checking how far gone so they don't trigger anything.
However, a few mins to 2am when they could see the amount of pain I was in, they checked and I was at 8cm. They quickly moved me back to the theatre to remove the cerclage.
That's when the main labour kicked off! No pain med oooooo....just a drip to keep me hydrated! I was shouting, sweating, getting tired. The doc had removed the cerclage at this point and just encouraged me to push whenever the contractions came.
It felt like a looooooong time of pushing but at about 2.15am, she came through by Gods grace.
They put her on my chest for me to see while the doc continued with the removal of placenta and his suture of the mild cut he had given me, still with no meds! Another episode of bare screaming.
Baby has been sleeping a lot. Apart from the suture pain, I'm fine by Gods grace and I give glory to God for the entire episode.
Best wishes to all the Mums incoming, may it be far easier for you. Amen

Pls I need help interpreting this result. I did blood and urine test and tested positive. I went for abdominal and vagina scan and this was the result. You'll need to do another scan from a different centre and please do it quick. In your next scan, if they don't find the baby in your uterus, ask them to check your tubes. One of his references say extra uterine which could mean an ectopic pregnancy. (I'm not saying this with certainty but if it's ectopic, you might want to act very fast) Kindly note that abdominopelvic scans hardly pick up pregnancy very early. A transvaginal scan is much more likely to see your uterus clearly in those early weeks. Good luck! Rofemiguwa can shed more light on this. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Just as was mentioned earlier, maybe because you're a first timer that's why but don't worry you'll start feeling the movement soon and it also feels like a bubble close to your waist then increases thereafter as baby grows. Happy bumpy to us. okay ma'am, I can't wait the anxiety is too much |

Probably because you are a first time mum thats why you re yet to feel those kicks but dont worry very soon you will start feeling it.d kicks be like flutters. As the baby grows, the kicks grow stronger more like gentle jabs/punches but it doesnt hurt. If you are having trouble stomaching food then u just have to force yourself ni o,try eating small meals in btw,eat fruits too, stay hydrated also take your prenatals religiously. kpele Thank you màami. I appreciate. I'm 19weeks now and will look forward to those Signs, maybe the baby is too gentel like me 1 Like |

Awesomemama: What can I do to reduce postpartum feet swelling ? Take plenty water, reduce salt intake and always raise your leg up with something. I hope this helps. |
