Good morning all, please o, i wanted to invest in treasury bills but all the financial institutions i bank with seems not to have any short tenures available, so i did a time deposit(fixed deposit). Now, is this type of investment sufficient for POF? Can i summit d certificates nd documents as POF?.

Yes it is.
Submit the certificate and a statement of account of 4-6mths. Highlight the transfer of the money from your account to the fixed deposit account (not required but helps the blind VOs).

Hi guys,

Please what's the significance of your 'ADR' changing to 'not applicable'? Is this normal, because I see a lot of people getting excited when that changes to the mentioned. My AOR is barely a months old.

Hello all, please I have a little worry and I'd appreciate your inputs.

I'm pre-ITA, my ECA is ongoing and I'm scheduled to write IELTS this weekend. In the meantime, I'm trying to get my profile ready so that I don't forget anything when ITA comes.

While reading PPR stories, I noticed VOs usually check people's LinkedIn profile. Now my worry is that my profile hasn't been updated beyond NYSC, and my current job (since after NYSC, about 2 years) isn't on my profile at all (In a way I kept expecting a better job and didn't want to add my current job). Meanwhile, my place of work doesn't have online presence, and I'm being paid in cash.

Is it necessary for me to update my profile, do VOs actually consider LinkedIn as a major source of information?
And also, won't it be fishy if I go ahead to update my profile? Is there a way to know that a profile was recently updated on LinkedIn?

Thank you all

Landing Gist- (Lone Traveller)

So after all the struggle of getting ITA, submitting application, the emotionally draining experience of waiting for PPR/COPR, the joy of that followed after all came through (that feeling of achievement and satisfaction), the booking of flight and then realising that there is life after all of this and that going to Canada is just a means to an end

27th of February, 2020 was the day I decided to leave 9ja and my flight leaves 1.45pm. I struggled to get my things packed and ready because even after resigning from my Job, my Oga was still asking me to help out with some work just to assist the team I left behind (we needed more hands and my leaving did not make things any easy for them). I moved my things to my brother in-laws house the day before my departure because he wanted to drop me off at the airport.

Got to the airport early that morning and I prepared to pay for excess luggage (mumsi packed things for me and insisted I go with them all- 9kg excess=23k approx.). Did the necessary check-ins which was kind of a breeze and went on to the boarding gate after saying farewell to friends who came to see me off at the airport (parted with N800 in all, 500 for the immigration lady who let my guy in and 300 to the “bros we dey chop breakfast for here crew”, every other person I told “nothing dey” or I pretended not to hear their begging)

I flew with ET and had a good experience generally on both legs of the trip but before the good experience I was very scared because looking out the window I felt like “shey this thing no go fit just fall like this ni” (It was my first time flying o, so I was very nervous but I relaxed much later into the flight and I also took time to observe people so that I wont embarrass my life grin grin). However, during my flight I was restless all through because I felt my guy who I was supposed to stop by at his place before getting an Airbnb went MIA on me (so was trying also to make alternative arrangement for accommodation while flying) but apparently na work cause the whole not being able to reach him wahala. I also got news mid-air that COVID 19 don enter 9ja through an Italian man via Lagos airport and this did not make me feel good at all (Thoughts of -shey the people that searched me at the airport did not touch this man sha plus I was scared for my family and 9ja knowing how helpless and vulnerable the masses are).

We got to Addis Ababa and layover was kind of short, the airport was beautiful and was nothing compared to the one I saw in 9ja before leaving. We boarded and flew to Dublin, refuelled and finally got to the famous Toronto Pearson Airport. By the way, I dint carry any cooked food to eat, so I made sure I ate and drank all that passed by me even though almost all the edibles looked alien to me (I no sabi select food ni grin). It took approx. 6hrs for me to clear myself at the airport because a whole lot of people was on the cue and the cue dint move fast at immigration where my COPR was signed. I was tired and exhausted and from too much standing. I am here now and I have slept only about 2.3hrs in all slept by 12am and woke about 2:37am (can’t say I know what it feels to be jet-lagged). Did my SIN at the airport and will still get to open a bank account, get PRESTO card and SIM too.

Las Las I reached my friend and he told me about an arrangement for a week stay @200 CAD so I just went there straight up and paid cash. He came in to see me later and we decided to grab coffee together then go to his place for food. This dude set me up and made us run like 4mins straight to catch a bus. Come and see me panting and gasping for breath, I started breathing like someone who was asthmatic shocked shocked, knowledge of the symptoms of COVID 19 come even make fear catch me small but after the coffee I was good tongue tongue

First day here
I took my first bus ride and I dint loss (testimony 1). From my friends place to where I stay after he explained to me how to get home after getting PRESTO card.
Got home and decided to I go get my SIM and after doing it my ba3 died (see panic attack na- fear of how do I go home), I sha pleaded with the attendant to help me use google map and I copied the stops and points where I need to take bus home. I still did not loss (Testimony 2)
I now felt confident going anywhere, I went to the bank and opened my account ( my account manager was nice and shared some of her experience when she moved in 2011 and also gave me some tips and advice)

Moving around was not easy bcs sometimes I will start looking something that I am holding in my hand o (The cold dey touch brain sometimes and also makes my nose run sometimes)
I always use the map and sometimes I get to turn around in circles to make sure I am on the right track before I move (those that see me will sha know this one is a JJC plus I no send) and I always ask the bus driver to confirm once I get into the bus.

Day2 here
It's a Sunday and I am preparing to go to a catholic church that google said is closest to me smiley

I have come oo and its time to face what is facing me here and I go conquer with God and putting in the needed work. Just like king Solomon, I pray for wisdom.

Una don see as my waka take be.

Gracias smiley cool

No you don't. WES does not require NECO/WAEC anymore. Your highest qualification, MSc, is the only document to be evaluated.

With your Age and degree, you should be at 465. There is really nothing much that can be done except french or masters..: a miracle draw can happen also

Vavi:
Hi All

I'm a newbie on this thread. Learnt a lot from you all.

I'm 31, married with 2/more degrees. I've written IELTS and gotten a 8.5,8,7.5,6.5 LRSW. Awaiting remark on the writing. If the remark plays out favourably, i will be at 460+.

I've imagined various scenarios using the CRS tool to attain 470+ but it requires that I have Canadian experience, have a Canadian sibling, a job or provincial nomination which I don't have. Elders in the house, how does one attain a 470+ score in this day?

I read where someone mentioned he suspected the IRCC viewing his LinkedIn profile and all that.

Is LinkedIn compulsory or necessary? - Because I don't have my profile updated or even used it since I created it long ago.

It is not necessary, so far the information on your linkedin profile and your info with ircc is not conflicting... if not remove it

Hello all,

There’s a single mom who’s interested in this PR journey but her only concern is how to scale through any difficulty arising from being a single parent. Her child’s bears her family name because the baby daddy was never in the picture from day one.

So question is, can she apply anyway, and what does she need to do to avoid issues with her application?
