Four more people have died in the US state of
Washington after being infected with the
coronavirus, bringing the death toll in the state and country to six, authorities said on Monday.
Dr Jeff Duchin, chief health officer for the Seattle and King County Public Health agency, announced the increase in fatalities from COVID-19 at a news conference on Monday, as authorities across the country scrambled to prepare for more infections with an emphasis on ratcheting up the number of available test kits.
Researchers had previously said that the virus may have been circulating undetected for weeks in Washington state. After the first death, Governor Jay Inslee declared a state of emergency.

Four of the people who died were residents at the Life Care Center nursing care facility in Kirkland, in suburban Seattle, King County health officer Jeffrey Duchin said Monday. Four other coronavirus cases are also linked to the Life Care Center.

So far, every death from novel coronavirus in the United States has been in Washington state.

Yes, Health ministry did move fast, and do the basics.

But it is still very very early days yet...plus we still get a lot of people coming in via land and sea and air....many of whom have passed through a COVID 19 country. Of course, it doesn't mean they were exposed (the US has over 300million people...so one's chances of contacting a COVID 19 infected american are very low).
