Are you a trader or an investor? How long do you intend to hold this stock? Sincerly speaking, nobody here is sure of what will happen after markdown and also performance of UCAP this year. I don't know much about UCAP but I read a report saying that drop in T-Bills and its likes will affect their revenue going forward.

But if you are trader, buying into UCAP for the sole purpose of getting dividends and then japaa after that might be a wrong move. It might be possible for UCAP to gain 10% before markdown and traders usually benefit from such (if 10% shows up and they sell before markdown) but with the present condition of our market, nothing is certain.

Thanks Mendes for your succinct analysis.
I’m actually a trader.
And my sole aim was jump in for the dividend and jump out immediately after the qualification date.
It seems the dividends for this year will be a bone in our throats.
Let’s continue to watch keenly.

This one is going too. I wonder how much they will be paying minority shareholders to buy out and delist.

Market opened calmly, looks like it's going to react to the positive news, investors still cautious.
Let's remember what Oga Onifa said, if it recovers a little for few days, we should not be carried away. smiley
Bids are higher than offer in some stocks.....
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by rebekah2011(m): 10:24am On Mar 03, 2020
UCAP traded for 1.79 just last year. Is it possible to trade at this level in the coming months? The possibility is very strong. However, companies will always devise new ways of making money. But like you have been told JIJO may surely set you back a bit but the dividend can help you to buy back later when the price crashes if it will because no one is sure that it will.

Market really looking up this morning. Well, I guess the bloodletting has gone on for too long long, so it is time for the market to make adjustments.

Meanwhile, these mushroom banks will always delay filings and dividend declaration.

I attempted same with UCAP.
Bought at N3.35 with the hope of selling before mark down in anticipation of a 10% gain.
I am out with a nice head cut.
The market is not smiling and things might get worse after the earning season I.e post mark down.

What does 90% mean ma? That remaining 10% is the likelihood that he won't break his waist and the decision is all his to make.

I have ONLY explained what I myself will do. I have never seen a trader that buys a stock with the intention of selling after markdown!

Boss, you know that if not for the present condition of markets, you woudn't have seen UCAP to buy at N4.00. Once a good result is released (Zenith no follow here ooo), it usually rallies immediately, does a small pullback and then do another small rally when dividend hunters surfaces towards markdown date.

Corona don change am for us this year.

I swear, this rally is very highly needed. At least this will assist to create lower lows afterwards and we come in again after a day of panic. Merry go round.

BTW, if I am after dividends, why should I leave Zen and go for GTB? Just thinking out loud.
