All your points make sense. They are very sensible. But in a real world, this world which is full of bastards, your points are just theoretically correct.Practically, its impossible to mind your own affairs in this type of world we are living.Just check these examples..

Zimbabwe had leadership disaster,South Africa chose not to mind Zim affairs. You ended up hosting over a million zimbos. If you had interfered, may be you could have averted that crisis.

Africa lacked infrastructure. You had all the know how, but you chose to ignore the rest of Africa, you chose to focus inward, but as we speak Chinese are reaping billions of cash which you SAns should have taken it since you had all the capabilities to do that. All those projects which are constructed by chinese companies, they were naturally yours! You could have reaped billions of dollars.

Foreigners came into SA.You decided not to mind their affairs. What is happening now is just chaos and blame game.Actually, the whole world don't understand you SAns,because you decided not to interfere, your reputation as a nation have been tarnished.

The idea of not interfering doesn't work. What works is trying to interfere wisely.Yes,poking your nose smartly. That's why we interfered when apartheid was ruling SA,if we couldn't, more souls were going to perish. That's why even now,we still talk when we see some stuff don't go well in SA.We do that to avert hosting for the second time SA refugees as we did during apartheid. The same way we do to Kenya. We always teach them to end tribalism. If we don't do that, they might fight again, and we might end up hosting them again as refugees.
That's why we trained Kagame to go and take over in Rwanda so that he can use TZ systems to end tribalism and insecurity. As you can see,our boy is doing wonders in Rwanda

Oh lord...

Kaz! the Zim situation for us was a "damned if you do and damned if you don't" kind of thing.Zimbabwean people were always gonna come to South Africa whether we got involved or not, hell they would have used our involvement as an excuse for why they jump our borders. They would have accused us of causing unrest in their nation.Sometimes mingling in internal affairs of other nations just isn't a smart thing to do.btw the Zim situation is beyond any African country. They forcibly took the lands from white farmers and the West put trade embargo on Zim.

I'm a bit confused here.I thought black South Africans were the most useless people in Africa that never built anything and the infrastructure we're enjoying now was built for us by whites. And here I'm being told we had the architectures that should have built cities in African countries.Again, who African leaders dish out their billions to is totally their business.South Africa does build malls for her neighbouring countries by the way.

Foreigners came to SA.We offered them shelter and gave them food. Now that to me is about far as our helping hand could extend, anything beyond that is looking for trouble.

I'm gonna stay out Kenyan tribalism and Rowanda affairs and address the part where you talk about South African refugees during Apartheid.I have learned that most of these African countries are overplaying their so-called hospitality they offered South Africans during that time. Many exiled South Africans have given details of bad treatment they had while on refugee camps in Africa. Now contrast that with the life foreigners enjoy in South Africa and tell me what fùck more do we owe these people.

@Acawhatever, on American sites there are topics already that discuss the fact that Holland born Verwoed brainwashed Boers into believing Anglo Saxon Supremacy (Germanic/Nordic supremacy) in reality history and DNA Boers are bastards mixture of Europe, Asian, Malagasy ....that race isn't whites. I have posted photos of a Boer historian who openly admits theyr not white as Nazis in the 1940s thought. Note Nazism was brought to SA, Argentina and Brazil by Hitlers followers. shocked shocked

That is a Pseudo-science/history. First of all People in the world are mixtures of different dna groups. From the age of Neanderthal to the current age of Homo sapiens.

For instance your imaginative true whites Scandinavians have dna from North Africa, Middle East, different parts of Europe etc from those places that their Vikings ancestor did raid and took slaves. Most of Europeans have Hunnic, Kurgan and Turkic dna also. Why are you bitter of Boers being white, is it because you are not white? I don't see the problem of being African if you are.

Manufacturing declines as 2.27% GDP growth surpasses IMF projection

The National Bureau of Statistics on Monday released the Gross Domestic Product report for the 2019 fiscal year with the economy growing by 2.27 per cent in 2019.

The annual GDP growth rate of 2.27 per cent, according to the NBS, represents an increase of 360 basis points over the growth rate of 1.91 per cent recorded in 2018.

The International Monetary Fund had projected that the nation’s economy would grow by 2.1% in 2019.

But the 2.27 per cent growth rate recorded by the economy in 2019 surpassed the growth projection of 2.1 per cent by the IMF.

The NBS report said that during the fourth quarter of 2019, Nigeria’s GDP grew by 2.55 per cent year-on-year in real terms.

Compared to the fourth quarter of 2018 which recorded a growth rate of 2.38 per cent, it said this represented an increase of 0.17 percentage points and an increase of 0.27 percentage points when compared with the third quarter of 2019.

The fourth quarter 2019 growth rate, the NBS noted, also represented the highest quarterly growth performance since the 2016 recession.

The report reads in part, “Nigeria’s GDP grew by 2.55 per cent year-on-year in real terms in the fourth quarter of 2019.

“Compared to the fourth quarter of 2018 which recorded a growth rate of 2.38 per cent, this represents an increase of 0.17 per cent points and an increase of 0.27 per cent points when compared with the third quarter of 2019.”

The report stated that in the fourth quarter of last year, the aggregate GDP stood at N39.57tn in nominal terms.

This, it added, was higher than the fourth quarter of 2018 nominal GDP which stood at N35.23tn.

The NBS report stated that during the fourth quarter of 2019, average daily oil production of two million barrels per day was recorded.

This indicated an increase of 0.09 mbpd over the daily average production of 1.91 mbpd recorded in the same quarter of 2018.

However, it said the two million barrels per day was 0.04 mbpd lower than the production volume of 2.04 mbpd recorded in the third quarter of 2019.

Nevertheless, the report explained that oil production remained consistently at above 2.0mbpd all throughout 2019.

It put the real growth of the oil sector at 6.36 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2019, indicating an increase of 7.98 percentage points relative to the rate recorded in the corresponding quarter of last year.

The NBS report stated that growth decreased by 0.13 percentage points when compared to the 2019 third quarter figure of 6.49 per cent.

Quarter-on-Quarter, the report stated that the oil sector recorded a growth rate of –20.87 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2019.

On an annual basis, it said oil recorded 4.59 per cent growth in 2019, when compared to 0.97 per cent recorded in 2018.

The report said the oil sector contributed 7.32 per cent to total real GDP in Q4 2019.

For the mining and quarry sector, the NBS report explained that it grew nominally by 12.75 per cent year-on-year in the fourth quarter 2019.

The report stated, “Quarrying and other minerals exhibited the highest growth rate of all the sub-activities at 72.11 per cent followed by metal ore activity at 10.98 per cent.

“However, crude petroleum and natural gas was the main contributor to the sector with a weight of 94.59 per cent in Q4 2019 and 97.11 per cent for annual 2019.

Good lord Nigeria needs prayers
Your economy is greatly underperfoming
2019 was a horrible year for kenya with all the droughts and floods but our economy managed 5.9% growth

Kazi i wish I could like your post 100 times really on point.

Every country in Africa has a responsibility to each other. When South Africa was under the apartheid regime african countries rightly united together to tackle that draconian regime. Africans should partner more to develop and uplift each other's countries instead of standing aloof allowing europeans, arabs, chinese, indians etc to eat the fattest bones.

I'm no hypocrite i know Nigeria too can do better but in our little way we help out especially in West Africa. the liberia, sierra leone, gambia, sao tome examples show this. Tanzania like you rightly said intervened by proxy through kagame. even in the past you helped museveni and his ugandan rebels chase out idi amin's regime.

South Africa is uniquely placed to offer that needed leadership on critical issues for Africa due to their economic technological and political power but how has their obvious advantage helped their immediate neighbours? apart from one military intervention in lesotho can't really remember any major issue regarding african policy pushed by pretoria. Even Gaddafi as bad as he was recognised the need for african independence and pushed strongly for it.

We need to come together more often to uplift each others countries. hopefully the AFCTA trade deal will point to more intra-contine collaboration

Kenya is among of those countries that are behind in Metropolitan development projects. In Kenya, Nairobi is the first largest city followed by
2. Mombasa - City 1,200,000
3. Nakuru- Municipality 570000
4. Ruiru - Municipality 490000
5. Eldoret - Municipality 470000
6. Kisumu- City 390000

What's the policy used here to give a city status to Kisumu. Why Nakuru is not a city?
