Kenya is among of those countries that are behind in Metropolitan development projects. In Kenya, Nairobi is the first largest city followed by
2. Mombasa - City 1,200,000
3. Nakuru- Municipality 570000
4. Ruiru - Municipality 490000
5. Eldoret - Municipality 470000
6. Kisumu- City 390000

What's the policy used here to give a city status to Kisumu. Why Nakuru is not a city?

Incase you don't know kisumu became legally a city in 2018 it was just a city just by name
You need to meet certain infrastructure criteria to become a city
And lastly kisumu elevation to a city was more political rather than economically

mwanza is clean because of its landscape to the sea. , But when infrastructure is factored in, Nakuru beats it ten nil.

What's infrastructure? That single Flyover in Nakuru doesn't make it more developed than Mwanza. I know Kenyans like skyscrapers and Mwanza has skyscrapers while Nakuru don't have those.

1.Mwanza have good hospital compare to Mombasa and Nakuru.
2. Good roads.
3. Better transport system compare to Nakuru

@68whatever, Yoruba house nigger I said am coming back. I have the whole of tomorrow morning to reply to your empty claims. For now am enjoying beautiful Kenyan developments. Fact Aboonja is inferior to Nairobi, Luanda, dar es Salam and all SA cities not to mention north African Arab states.

List your cities. As for Kenya, we know they have only one city, Nairobi. The rest can't enter the top 10 cities in Nigeria. grin

That is corruption. How is it a city when doesn't reach Kenyan population threshold of 500000 of being a city and Nakuru is even more richer than Kisumu.

Kazi i wish I could like your post 100 times really on point.

Every country in Africa has a responsibility to each other. When South Africa was under the apartheid regime african countries rightly united together to tackle that draconian regime. Africans should partner more to develop and uplift each other's countries instead of standing aloof allowing europeans, arabs, chinese, indians etc to eat the fattest bones.

I'm no hypocrite i know Nigeria too can do better but in our little way we help out especially in West Africa. the liberia, sierra leone, gambia, sao tome examples show this. Tanzania like you rightly said intervened by proxy through kagame. even in the past you helped museveni and his ugandan rebels chase out idi amin's regime.

South Africa is uniquely placed to offer that needed leadership on critical issues for Africa due to their economic technological and political power but how has their obvious advantage helped their immediate neighbours? apart from one military intervention in lesotho can't really remember any major issue regarding african policy pushed by pretoria. Even Gaddafi as bad as he was recognised the need for african independence and pushed strongly for it.

We need to come together more often to uplift each others countries. hopefully the AFCTA trade deal will point to more intra-contine collaboration

You started well but that's where I stopped reading.

That is not corruption
Nakuru is even richer than Mombasa
Kisumu has an international airport Nakuru has none
Kisumu is strategically placed than Nakuru

Kisumu was an administrative centre for the then Nyanza province. It also had better infrastructure like an international airport etc. Like tylan said it was a political necessity since Kisumu was the opposition's home base for decades. The same way Dodoma is your capital but it has only two buildings and a helipad.

you are really dumb

how did Ghana become a one party state when the opposition party participated in every single election and even won parliamentary seats?

grin grin

There was no election during the time when Ghana was a one party state. How hard is it to figure grin Claiming that there was no one party state because there was elections is like saying a tree that fell in the forest didnt make a sound since nobody was there grin

Just30:
the man was opposed to capitalism because capitalism was highly destructive

Nkrumah was a socialist and all of his socialist policies worked perfectly well and made Ghana economically prosperous.

If you read his books, you will know that who really he was.
In a speech to the Indian Council on World Affairs, December 26, 1958, Nkrumah said: "We, in Africa, will evolve forms of government, rather different from the traditional Western pattern, but no less democratic in their protection of the individual and his inalienable rights."

That is a democratic man.
In Nkrumah's book Africa Must Unite, he wrote: "If the will of the people is democratically expressed in an overwhelming majority for the governing party, and thereby creates a weakening of the accepted two party system, the government is obliged to respect the will of the people so expressed. We have no right to divide our mandate in defiance of the popular will of the people."

That is a democratic man speaking
To what good was multi party presidential system when the opposition will only get 1% in an election because they couldnt find trust with the people?
This was why Nkrumah was advocating for a different system whereby the parliament had more power and the president get to be choosen from there.

This is a man who knew the dangers of a one-party system and already had a plan against it so that it doesnt lead to perpetuating of insanity

Nkrumah warned with great alarm: "A one-party system of government is an effective and safe instrument only when it operates in a socialist society. In other words, it must be a political expression of the will of the masses working for the ultimate good and welfare of the people as a whole. On the other hand, a one-party system of government in a neo-colonial client state, subject to external pressures and control, can quickly develop into the most dangerous form of tyranny, despotism, and oppression. It can become, in the hands of a few privileged rascally-minded and selfish individuals in a neo-colonialist state, a weapon and a tool for suppressing the legitimate aspirations of the people in the interest of foreign powers, and their agents. I repeat that a one-party state can only function for the good of the people within the framework of a socialist state or in a developing state with a socialist programme. The government governs through the people, and not through the class cleavages and interests. In other words, the basis of government is the will of the people."

Even the US was a socialist state when that nation first formed.

Nation-building is for the wise only, Nkrumah built a strong groud for the multi party democracy that is free of tribalism for Ghana.
See Kenya today, Moi was a dumb man who was only interested in pleasing the Americans and Brits and today Kenya has a disfunctional political system.

Socialism destroyed Ghana and made you paupers. Remember when you lots were refugees in Nigeria. If not for IMF Ghana today would be like Chad or Niger.

Excuse me DRC South Sudan Burundi and car are all experiencing one crisis after the other so I don't know how you have helped them. I did mention Lesotho Malawi truth be told I don't know much about as for Mozambique I haven't seen how your influence has rubbed off them

Political influence and power goes beyond contributing peacekeepers. If the number of peacekeepers is what you use to judge how influential a country is then I guess Bangladesh would be one of the most powerful countries in the world.
