OBAGADAFFI:

The board of directors of 11 Plc. (formerly Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc.) has approved the voluntary delisting of the oil firm from the Nigerian Stock Exchange. This followed the resolution of the company to restructure its business by expanding into the real estate sector. However, its real estate unit will be transferred to a new subsidiary; 11 Hospitality, while 11 Plc. will focus more on the downstream sector of the business.

The decision to delist will be subject to shareholders’ approval at the Annual General Meeting, scheduled for June 3 2020. The shareholders’ also have a 90-day window to decide the exit plan on offer to shareholders.

Currently has 2.3M BIDS, no offers.

For the sake of our fellow readers (new/old), how should a newbie interpret this scenario:

a) The sellers are about to dump and run on them shortly- it's a trap
b) There are no sellers as the stock is 'too good' to be sold
c) Something is wrong with your broker's portal
d) None of the above

BTW: Same scenario with FBNH right now. 23M BIDs, no offers.

When a company is desisting, the core investors are going to buyout majority of the shares at an attractive price.

b) There are no sellers as the stock is 'too good' to be sold

I don't know how to feel anymore. I'm still in the market bigly but I wanted prices of some banking stocks to drop further so I could use dividend cash and buy more. We await the day of salvation.

Nigeria is now the biggest economy in Africa as South Africa falls into recession: this fundamental may guarantee extension of bullish run tomorrow, while those that enters the dip on Friday and Monday may take their profit on friday.

The core Investor is not a father Christmas.

When Newrest ASL delisted, I did not sell my shares to the core investors. But I was surprised that the dividend paid in a year when the company was delisted was about 5 times what the company paid as a listed company.

I can't explain the miracle and turnaround which took place in the company after it was delisted.

I hope the core Investors of 11 plc can offer up to N300 per share

The Group strategist Dangote Refinery has been awash the media preparing for the eventual starting of operations of Dangote Refinery.........There is a new Trade war looming ahead If Dangote Refinery dont buy up operators of service stations , There is now a new bench mark come DEC 2020 for petroleum products, it will be Dangote price..................I forsee Dangote Refinery buying up service stations of major operators in the country hence this move by major petroleum marketers......Everyone smells that the margin from the business will get even smaller.......................................

The margins in the marketing business will become razor thin, almost unsustainable for those in the downstream business. It's why Otedola bailed out. Sharp guy. In the end, Nigerians will eat from Dangote's palms. Dangote is going to steal a lot of people's lunch money - not just the oil marketing coys, but also those folks who enjoy sweetheart crude lifting deals from the NNPC at ridiculous margins. NNPC will have to be selling their production to Alhaji.

Silly question: Is there any possibility that there will be no markdown on stocks this year? Because everything is ridiculously undervalued - especially the banks. Marking down shares at these prices would be wickedness. How a healthy bank that made N208 billion in 2019 (and has more than N900 billion in retained earnings), is trading at a N600 billion market cap (barely 3X earnings), is perplexing.
