dipoolowoo:The price of Union bank has been unusually high, I believe the market markers have this info in hand before the main market participants and priced this in.......................Union bank has been tracking the price of UBA all through 2019 and I keep wondering how It should be priced as UBA, Ive finally got my answer...............IS this dividend sustainable? |

Ibrahim505: No chance. I believe you need a T+3 for the shares to settle. If you buy tomorrow, your name would not be on the register as at the COB 2moro. My humble advice based in the questions you've been asking is to go back to NSE 101. Get the fundamentals of stock investments right before committing a penny. 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Mcy56(f): 9:19pm On Mar 05, 2020 |
bigjay01:Thought T+3 applies to fund settlement? Anyone that buy shares on the qualification date before COB will qualify. Someone will advice that he shouldn't buy again but wait to enter after qualification date cos the price may go lower or something......there could be exception to this if market is stable I think. @Ibrahim505 you can only buy if you want to keep it for long ..... difficult to advice anyone during this period self. 1 Like |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by nna777: 10:28pm On Mar 05, 2020 |
bigjay01:. Exactly. It applies to both funds settlement as well as share settlement. T + 3 = 4days. anyone who didn't buy before Wednesday will not qualify for dividend. 1 Like |

Ibrahim505:Sir, why run after a departing bus? If you miss this, just be calm and watch market reaction post markdown, then you buy at a good entry price based on what you feel is its fair price. Always remember that no matter how fundamentally sound a stock is, nothing beats a good entry price. 4 Likes |

bigjay01: Not at all bro !! ...Anyone who keys into UCAP today, WILL definitely qualify for the 50k dividend !!(I already gave enough guide to this qualification thing in times past) The T+3 day period is basically for funds settlement. ...but even then, there are brokers who'd remit ur funds to u even earlier than the 3 days circle. In retrospect, it can be T+X days(where x can be 0, 1 or 2 days). This, though depends on the brokerage firm, ur portfolio size and ur relationship with them. The only exception is if u had applied for funds remittances via the DCS(direct cash settlement), then it'll have to be T+2 days with proceeds remitted on the 2nd day if it falls within a working day,(btw mon-fri) or otherwise, the next closest working day. If T+3 days were used for security/share lodgement, then it would be impossible to buy and sell ur shares in coys on the same day. An investor who buys today, is simply added to the register while the seller is removed prior to mark down on Monday 9th Feb. So YES, he qualifies !! Hope its clearer now. 2 Likes |

nna777:You guys are getting this whole thing twisted. We're no more in analogue era. Why is it that you sell a stock and can use the fund to buy another one almost immediately? Anyone that buys today will be qualified, reason for the qualification date. List of qualified investors wouldn't even be drawn on same date, could be much later, only that the last date will be used for drawing the list. OK. I can see that OGG addressed this already. 1 Like |

onegentleguy: I have shared my experience on this before. I bought a stock 2 days to qualification date and I was not paid the dividend. The explanation giving by my broker was this nonsense T+3 days settlement thing. I will like others to share their experience. |
