i think the coaches game plan and flow of the game might also determine who should be played. like tbaba rightly said if we are adopting a more expansive attacking approach ehizibue and aina might be the best suited. however if we are under the kush and we need to defend then guys like awaziem would step in

Icon4s:

You said Awaziem should just make way without considering if the new Natural Right back is better or not.

Until we get a natural right back who can play better in that role we will continue to use make-shift right backs. This is not an issue of they making way for any natural right back player.

Aina isn't enough ?
Ezhibue nko?

Aina has been moved to the LB position. Ehizibue is untested in the National colors.

Irrespective of the approach, I doubt Ehizibue will start.

It is not my fault, Gernot Rohr did not look my way. Surely with me in the team, the semis would have been sure. I am a hybrid of Buffon and
Lev Yashin (the black spider) as a goalie. grin

Tbaba...this one that u are showing your comedic side .
Hope all is well ?

Aina still owns the RB position.. Collins owns the LB position.
Yes,Ehizubue is untested at national team level, but at least he is a natural right back..he has been playing the role for long.

My concern is that Awazeim didn't play the RB role for his club, hence his development in the role may be limited...

Aina plays both RB and LB and has recently been playing the LB (since the AFCON)

And Ehizibue, he first has to prove he is better than Awaziem in that RB position before the later will be asked to "make way".

These are mondern day Professionals. Switching of positions is not a big deal. If a "make-shift" player is better than a player in his natural position then let that make-shift player feature there. The national team has very limited games to play so every game is a must win. You have to feature ur best in every position.

He does .. he is a regular there...

Because u don't fancy him doesn't mean Rohr will drop him.... He came back from injury to retake the spot from Aina at the AFCON... ....Rohr rates him...

Yet he was dropped from the role immediately Collins returned from injury....

Let's see Ezibhue play for the team, then we can decide whether or not he is good enough...

Shehu was playing well heading to the world cup and he was selected ahead of a natural RB like Ebuehi.. It didn't end well..

Jamilu Collins vs Kingsley Ehizibue

The Nigerian Battle of the Fullbacks.... cool

In about 2 hours and 18 mins from now, Paderborn and Koln will slug it out in a Bundesliga match up and sure to feature the Two Nigerian Fullbacks: Collins and the newly invited Ehizibue.

Stay tuned. wink

Dean of Defence, Leon Balogun on his NT recall

Leon Balogun:

“I kept in touch with Rohr.

“He assured me as soon I get back to playing and he can see I'm in form and back to my old self, then I 'd expect him to call at one point or another.

“I didn’t expect it fast,it shows they didn't forget about me & still value me.”

It seems like Nigeria has submitted a bid to host the 2020 AWCON ..

Congo who were the original host apparently don't have the funds to host the tournament...

If Rohr doesn't rate Collins,he won't have dropped Aina for him during the AFCON.. especially when you consider that Aina was doing very well..

Collins still own the LB position... Aina and Ezhibue for RB.. let Awazeim fight for his spot at CB.. he was once ahead of Omeruo and Ajayi in the pecking order..

Collins was rated, he disappointed, hence, forcing Rohr to revert to a makeshift, in Aina. Aina did pretty well there, even way better than the so called owner of the LB. Aina has bossed it more and better than Collins, so I wonder what informed that statement "Collins owns the LB", when a makeshift(Aina) does the job better. Right now no one owns that position, and should anyone be considered the owner, that would be no other, than Aina

Aina isn't a makeshift left back... What are u even saying ?
Was the left back role not the first role he was given when he joined the team ? Did he impress there? No! He was rightly dropped from the world cup squad for a washed up Echijele..now he has gotten another chance and is performing well there. . Why can't u give Collins time too? How long has he even been in the team? How many times has he cost us a game ?

Collins came back from injury at the AFCON and immediately assumed Aina's role in the team, and u say Rohr doesn't rate him? Rohr didn't even bother to give Aina the RB role. He left Awazeim there...

Collins still own the left back role until Rohr decides not to play him there again!
