It will be surprising to hear that a contract staff now in NNPC was converted to SS4 or SS3. The usual thing is to convert them to SS6, which is the base of professional staff (GTs)

They can't convert EH automatically to SS5 upwards, it just doesn't make sense. If that is done, that means the contract staff will automatically become the bosses of those who are on SS4 or SS5. Let's hope for the best.

Exactly the point, positions have been identified under cadre SS2 & SS3 so it will be strange to appoint contract/support staff who are just attaching to be full staff and bosses to SS4 & SS5.

It will indeed be logical to hire contract staff into SS5 or SS6 as the case may be.

Just analysing from afar....

Now, will NNPC's full-time staff allow a contract staff to gain a high position automatically and be ahead of them just by compulsory placement? maybe they may allow for SS6 and SS5 grade. The best consolation will be for a contract staff to follow the recruitment process and gain such heights. It may be more tolerable for an external E.H to gain a high position through the recruitment process than for a contract staff to be forcefully placed in a high position ahead of NNPC's full-time staff. It is good some contract staff are considered and placed into full time; but for higher positions, it is better they follow the recruitment process.

The advert clarified the issue. For you to be invited for cbt you have the required qualifications for EH. Secondly, have anyone taken time to ask what criteria do they use in recruiting the contract staff Who vetted there qualifications at the point of entry and what stopped them from not applying when they were asked to do so? Why was there recruitment not subjected to scrutiny? Just thinking aloud

What is the next, item with immediate to be concluded? Is there any thing in the immediate for EH?

Hello all....EH hopefuls...the news is that some senior staffs are disgruntled about employing those who do not grow in the system from scratch to now enter Midway and sometimes get to boss them who have been in the system.one told me 2 weeks ago that the recruitment has been scrapped that previous EHs who do not really understand the system has ruined it in time past,another one told me today again giving the first reason..I know it's all speculations because there's a gap between ss5 and ss3,presently no ss5 in the system the ss4s are moving to ss3 by dis year,hence there will be no ss4 in the system as such,except the ones that probably have grown from the JS Level who would be old by now.
There was rumour on all the SBUs to collate their contract workers and forward to Abuja according to business needs which either signifies a conversion want to take place,but i am hearing again that it's on hold..bit what I do know is that some persons want to be compensated and the remaining available slots which is the EH is under severe contention...

Is not a rumour, the HR have directed the SBUs to submit a comprehensive list of all non-full time employees. The submission should be made to GGM HR by 4th march, 2020.

The GMD cannot retire anyone except such person reach the statutory retirement age.

Before the GTs finally got closure, rumours flew around. Now rumours are beginning to fly around for the EH category. When the list drops, we will know what really transpired. Let's just stay hopeful. Thanks for the info guys, it keeps the thread going.
