Dam5reey: I also thought 20watts panel is too small. But I don't need 24/7 fan. Only as need arises which can't be more than 10hrs daily. |

For those who followed my queries. How do I connect 80-100 panel to the fan? It is rechargeable ac/fc fan with solar charging port. Should I use a charge controller and drop in via the battery terminals or connect the panels directly to the fan via the charging port( would it have its inbuilt charge controller? |

Topmost11:Maybe 80 watts panel, but not 100 watts panel. The QASA DC fan I use, though non-rechargeable, says 80 watts panel can be tolerated directly into the DC in port of the fan. I assume the charge controllers in those ones with batteries is not likely to tolerate anything above 60watts. If you want to go higher, then you may need an external CC and the big battery that you wanna use to power the fan. 1 Like |

Experts ln the house I want to set up a solar power system, please I need to get the best brand(s) of the following The total load iS 700watt It will run for 8 hours daily 1. Lithium ion battery 200maH 2. Pure sine wave inverter(pls what power rating would fit?) 3. Mppt Charge controller 4. Solar pannel, 300w 1 Like |

BetaTechnicians: Yes, sir plus their datasheet are available online, all cells were fully charge, discharge and recharge before assemble |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by zeanslim(m): 11:24am On Mar 06, 2020 |
BetaTechnicians: Direct DC, there will be more power loss if used via inverter. |

stokfrick: MaH?? you mean, I guess you meant “Ah” Would you rather chat us up on whatsapp? 08031138665 Ok but to run 8 hrs daily with 700 watts load, I don’t see 300 watts solar array getting you that And again in case of no sunlight and per adventure your 200 ah battery is full, with 700watts Load you can only get abt 3hrs backup Planing your power needs is the best step to take and avoid regret in solar arraying www.jekitech.com 1 Like |

zeanslim:I could see different colors of cells, does that mean all strings aren't equal and individual capacity of the cells would differ, how do they balance up and doesn't it affect anything? |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by BetaTechnicians: 5:30pm On Mar 06, 2020 |
zeanslim: True, so do you take the supply from the load contacts of the pwm cc or you take it straight from the battery? 1 Like |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ewizard1: 5:50pm On Mar 06, 2020 |
BetaTechnicians: Each cell has gone through "Capacity test" and the figures used to make 3 identical Capacity sets which then connected in series to make up the voltage. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by zeanslim(m): 6:36pm On Mar 06, 2020 |
BetaTechnicians: I take load straight from the battery, I don't really trust does controller, so to avoid stress and heat. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by zeanslim(m): 6:40pm On Mar 06, 2020 |
BetaTechnicians: Yes, the cells are selected base on their closeness to capacity and resistance after the test, also a BMS is installed to monitor the battery discharge and charge rates |

zeanslim: Ok, but how do you deal with cases when a device e.g. a bulb requires strictly 12V while the battery can go as high as 14V during charging? |

Please i need a good 200Ah battery in Ibadan. i used Sukam battery since 2016. 4 years now. but it has gone weak. someone recommended the Amaron quanta battery. is it also good? if yes. i would need one for immediate purchase in Ibadan..... Thank you |

BetaTechnicians: You can take from the cc or use a DC stepdown or better still modify the cc charge voltage. |

SO still on the solar pump matter, saw this rated 12v 5amps, . this is 60watts abi?. the flow isnt so great, but should serve fine, for a single household https://www.ebay.com/itm/12V-Submersible-Deep-DC-Solar-Well-Water-Pump-Battery-Alternate-Energy-4-230Ft-/174025798481?_trksid=p5731.m3795&shqty=1&isGTR=1#shId @ojeysky, have you bought? 2 Likes 1 Share |

stokfrick: Is it 8 sun hours or night hours? 1. Assuming your Lifepo4 is full and you do 90% DoD is won't serve you for 8 hours @700w. A 400AH would be fine 2. Any 2 to 3kva would fit. Even a 1.5kva will do 3. Me I use hybrid but you can use any good standalone MPPT, a couple of them has been posted in previous pages on this thread 4. To charge a 200ah from almost empty to full with no load you will need to have at least 4x300w panels (this assumes that you will consistently hervest 40A for 5sun hours from the panel) That's rough estimates, the gurus may add details but I hope it gives you an idea of what your budget will look like. 1 Like |

earthrealm: No I have not, looking to ride on your experience first ni o I took a quick look on the spec, it says 4A max current yet on the description it says maximum power 750w. That does not seem to add up. |
