You said it well, Honestly when I watch the video, i was so sorry for Lingard, that he is not performing on the pitch is absolutely not what he wants, I am sure he wished he was doing very well. The verbal attack on him nevertheless was at the extreme, especially the racist abuse (Although I dont bloody care if you call me black for that is what I am). It quite unfortunate that Lingard has to take care of his Sick grandmother, take care of his young Kids/Siblings etc. Life can be so cruel.

BUT...
I have come across millions of people that have to do less paying and demanding jobs, Yet their Wife, Husband, Child, Brother,Sister or even Parents will be very sick. Still they are not making wild excuses, they are still working hard to cater for their sick relatives, Yes some good organisations might be given day-offs, less working time or time off, with full pay. But it has limits. I did not subscribe to abuses and insults, but If Lingard knew his Mental and personal issues are affecting him, he should have asked the manager for a time off and his pay is still not affected. Ronaldo is now in Portugal for the death of his mum, she might be suffering from some illness, we might not know, Mourinho's dad was terminally ill, although he was moody but that did not affect his Job. I can go on and on. All of us have problems, even in this united team, just dig deep, you will discover that their are people who have bigger problems than Lingard.
Its not out of place for lingard to request that with the level of competition in Man United, coupled with the size of the club, that he didn't think he can cope with the pressure of consistent performance at the top level, in the light of his personal issue. Therefore he is demanding for a transfer. The club can even give him some severance, he can move to a championship or a league one side to conclude his career, who knows he might bounce back.
Afterall,, Same Lingard was caught on Camera few months ago, wanking and the video was leaked mistakenly on social media. I dont think, the person who has a sick parents and Kids to take care of should have such time for useless and immature frivolities. People advised Rashford to stay away from him due to things like this. Lingard is a bad example of professionalism and work ethics.
Someone with mental issues cannot be advertising clothing lines, he negotiated his jumbo contract without any fuse, so If he can do those things, why not perform on the pitch. So please we sympathise with Lingard for his issues and does not subscribe to racist abuse, however, he has to leave the club now, the fans cannot put up with poor performance, he is being paid to do a job, if he cant do it he should not be collecting any pay

Adriano's father death turned his life, most of these players are dealing with a lot.
Dier was forced to engage a fan, xhaka had to do something too, mustafi was made miserable grin
Most of these players can't deal with insults

So basically as long as the maid in the house is getting paid the owner can treat her anyhow they like. Spillo actually made sense. Criticism and abuse are too different things entirely.

What do you mean "can treat her any how they like"? How was Lingard treated anyhow? If the maid in the house is constantly over salting the food, leaving stains on washed clothes, not cleaning the house properly and generally not doing well very obviously. And its understood that it was because her parent in the Village is sick. The best thing is it not to resign and go and take care of the sick mother? She can even be paid extra pay off. What do you mean by abuse? He is paid to do a job, if he cant do it, by all means he should resign, that was even one of what the fans who accosted him were demanding. None of them insulted his family or even him. They shouted about his performance. I was only pitying him on a personal ground, but on a professional level, i dont pity him.

I don't care about lingard. I am only answering base on the example you gave in your post because you keep referencing 100k meaning as long as you are well paid by your employer you can be insulted then no problem hence my maid example.

Yes he is in Portugal now. Even me, I have personal issues too, and I school and do tough assignments and work too to carter for my family and parents too. The school on some occasions do extend submission time for me, and wave class attendance issues for me, but when you submit your essays and write exams, you have to actually pass, nobody will pass you due to your personal issues. You can even defer your study till you are stable. I work too, I do get days off(without pay), I just dont get punished for cancellations, I can be allowed to go home early, come to work a bit late, take longer breaks. But your performance even if its not top notch, it shouldn't affect the progress of your institution, if it does, you must either take time off or resign. In my case stop picking shifts. So Lingard should not be hounded, but he must develop thick skin or resign. Man United have shareholders, i dont think they are interested in Lingards personal issues, Points will not be added to United on the league table because lingard has issues

If you fail to meet the expectations of your employer and he "insults" you about it, and you are not comfortable with the insult of your, you resign and press charges if there is a ground for that. Not remaining on the Job, receiving your wages and crying.

That example of the maid is a stupid example. Is it Man u as a club that is/was insulting Lingard?

Seems the football has faded already. He should go take care of his mental issues and then he could start modelling his clothing line.

He shouldn't frustrate the fans with his regular abysmal performances while flexing on Instagram and expect cuddles and hugs from the fans.

I agree the abuses were quite extreme but Lingard needs to look at himself.

It is you that have chosen to be frustrated. We have about 30 players. Linagrd hardly starts these days, I see no way he frustrates anyone.

I watched the clip. Though the abuse was harsh. I dont see any abuse on PERSONAL LEVEL there. I only heard things, "you are shit Lingard"......F...ck off Lingard" .... "0 goals, 0 assists in 2019". The racist abuse is not yet confirmed even. So i dont see any personal thing their. To me this is Criticism though in a harsh and invasive manner. Go to banks, business/Corporate organisations and companies and see how employees are reprimanded you wont be talking like this. Or have you forgotten that he (Lingard) is an employee? How many times have you insulted Buhari just this year? Do you know the level of insults and abuses Trump and Boris Johnson recieve from Americans and British people? Lingard is paid 100k a week, thats the Annual pay of an experience Medical consultant in NHS. So he need to develop tough skin and soldier on, or he resign. Simple. People pay north of 100 pounds on match days to watch the team play well, most people even travel on away games from Manchester to say Southampton, do you know how much that cost? I sometimes rearrange a work shift just to watch United matches, or do you think the fans too dont have personal issues? Ronaldo's mum was also sick you know. if you give your car to a mechanic to repair, and he collects his wages upfront from you. I dont think you will take it lightly him, if he damage you vehicle beyond repairs and come up with a story that he couldn't concentrate because his wife was in the hospital, or he want to do school run for his children. I know you will be asking for a refund at the minimum.

But a bank employee is reprimanded by his boss, not just a random person insulting him.
