Farming, like every other business requires more than passion to thrive. You need to have deep knowledge and understanding of the challenges, not the profits.
You are blessed bro.
Its not just about profit but passion, knowledge and understanding is the key.
Its not a 1+1 business like ehailing.
Just like sexylassie earlier said. flu can visit and kill all the birds if its poultry. While crops can die as a result of pests, climate conditions etc.
Farming is beyond all these 2 -4 weeks vocstional trainings people advertise.
It requires deep knowledge to succeed in it. Though, it still remain one of d best business in the country.

Eveything career in life requires passion. If that is missen trust me success will never come.
If you dont have passion for something don't border going into it because you'll fail and get frustrated outta it.

This is the main reason most farmers are poor.

Ask dru23 how often her calls his drivers to know how their daily work is going and how the car is performing and what is needed to be fix and where can he get top notch service and repairs for his cars. Every business is like a baby, a flower and if you dont nurse it will fall sick and die later. You don't open your shop and then go home and sleep expecting ur customer to buy drop the money at the counter and leave without their change. You need to monitor it to the very last breath u take.
Absolutely correct here. Farming business needs ur time more than urself, if truely u want to succeed in it. Just as every other business

Like you rightly mention, "some farmers", "local farmers". The reason theyre poor is because they still apply the old system.

Farming has gone digital now and capital intensive. Give an experience farmer with great prospect like me N3/4m(i.e like d cost of 2 Corolla in equivalent) today and see how he turns that money into multiple millions in 5years.

I'm not sugar talking neither am I trying to deceive you or anyone, farming is one thing that has great prospect and has the capacity make somebody who knows what h/s is doing multi rich in the space of time.

Two years ago I spent about 300k on watermelon, ROI after 3-4months was about 200%. That was my first time and first experience . last year I did likewise but on cucumbers, my returns was also good.

We africans have this natural mindset farming is a poverty venture probably because we don't know any rich farmer apart from the once we read on SM. But the truth is not far fetch, farming has great prospect BUT CAPITAL INTENSIVE but great wealth in it.

I've about 25acres of casava right now somewhere, buyers are casing me around begging to buy one acre at 100k. Now ask me how much I take do the 25acre last year? Chicken feed money.
You are not a learner. U sabi the biz

Fam, pls c d offer a friend of mine got from a company that sells cars.. he wanted tokumbo 2010 Corolla for Uber in Abuja and he had up to 1.4m wyt him .... but my advice was for him to get Nigeria use at 1.8m instead for the below pic
They wants to sell d car 2.5m but if he will be asked to pay for 24month at a total of 3.59m (after all d calculation I did).... I don’t know which is better

Why would your friend have 1.4m and still decide to enslave himself to someone else for 24months servicing a 3.59m HP car when he can own his own car with that 1.4m

Tell him to go buy civic 03-05 or elantra with that 1.4m. He can even get big daddy for the same amount with good search.

You friend should be a car owner with that amount. For the sake of anything good, advise him to drop the HP thought and buy himself a car. What does he need 10 corolla for?

True talk. I learnt this the hard way. I jumped into poultry farming with out any knowledge of it. I only had the assurance of a brother who promised to guide me through it. But your personal knowledge is required also. The whole venture collapsed before my eyes like film trick. But I've known better. In the words of dru master "never go into a business you know nothing about".

Then if that should be the case. Let him use the 1.4m to buy civic, elantra or big daddy.
One year or one and half max savings is enough to buy corolla of his choice, and still has his camry, civic or elantra as savage value.

The craziness with corolla is annoying. The young man will be remitting close to 40k weekly to complete the 3.59m in 24 months, all in a bid to buy Coro when he can own his car with 1.4m

Must it be Corolla? Source for beta deals. The options I've got aren't for HP, na why. Nonetheless, you'll get beta deals I'm sure. And my civic neva come, I for reason you.

Nice analysis, but probably you either neglected or couldn't comprehend part which says the 3m is in 78 weeks ie. 1½ years which is around 40k weekly. Cost of repairs nko? Maintenance will still be expect to be done by the driver abi? Which HP driver will be willing to continue comprehensive insurance once it expires?
Business is business but we need to be realistic with our demands to make life easy for both parties.
Dbossmanager:

lol...too outrageous........let me break it down for you just incase:
You need at least 1.5million naira to get a toks Toyota Corolla 2005 if you are bringing it in yourself...
If you are buying it here...you need at least 1.7million naira....

comprehensive insurance..... around 65000 (axamansard)
Tracker.....25 to 30k....
Car registration......45 to 50k....
miscellaneous.....5k
Total......around 130k......for the first year...
For the second year....
renewal.......around 15k......
comprehensive insurance.....around 65k.....axamansard.....
Total around 80k....

Sum total......if you bring it in yourself....around 1.7million...
If not.....then around 2million....

See....he is not even making up to 50 percent annually for his investment.....and the truth is he will not get back his money at the stipulated time....

So please before some peeps start cursing out investors....you need to fantom the amount of risk they are taking in investing their capitals in this venture....

3million naira might be high but not outrageous...people make more than triple of that investing in less risky businesses....

Forget the hype bro corolla is a damn strong car.

Fuvking hell that car can take a beating.

Wasted my money before buying a kia until I couldn’t take it and sold that shi.t.

You see this corolla, even with all the many many faults still dey move. Don’t try it with any other brand. You’d be frustrated. The car is a fucking beast.

Best part is the spare parts are cheap!

The deal is not a good one though. 24 months of paying salary is not gonn be easy. He doesn’t need to get an 010 corolla, the regular 03-06 is the best for the job because the car go collect walahi.

Every car is super good as long as it's healthy... If you buy a Kia that has been over used and abuse you will get what you paid for, same with Corolla. The secret is not buying corolla but buying a healthy car and also avoid buying cars that are way cheaper than the average price.

Car are usually not cheap for no reason, in most cases cars that has done close to 300k miles are bought cheaper and also avoid most of this cars with 80k mileage, 90% of them have high mileage except if you are able to run a carfax report to know if the mileage has been tempered.

I don't believe in Toyota I belive in a healthy car.

Fam

I gave this rider grace of a week but he is proving stubborn

I picked him on a surge of 1.6 from Maryland and to lekki phase 1 and we suffled 4 different destinations...he was acting rich and let's go let's go geng...after the whole moving lekki..trip ended at 8000 and I showed him and he said he needs the receipt to confirm on his own side and I explained to him that his receipt will be generated only if I confirm his payment...long story short..he invited one of his friends and that one start threating this and that...after long delay he parted with 5k that if he gets the receipt he will send the balance.. I swiped confirm and the receipt wasnt sent same time to him. But he got it the next day I confirmed from our call...I sent my acc det...and just to call through to let him know I have sent my details...he has already blocked me, used my second number he blocked that as well..I was on the verge of even leaving the balance..so I called with one of my friend phone the next day....he picked and he said I should do my worse that he won't pay one naira extra.

My plan was type his number before in A4 paper as a fast loan giver and paste around Lagos...

His phone number is +2348177149451
