Subzero047: We are talking about playing games indoors. The latest trend is games being played indoors, that is what you want to follow, which is laughable, because, it will still do little to nothing. How many people will watch a game in the Asaba stadium? Can you compare that to the people who will gather at viewing centres to watch the same game? UEFA has Valencia playing their UCL game indoors, but thousands of fans have gathered on the streets to support the team, making the point of the indoor games useless. The people that caught coronavirus in Italy, how many of them caught it after watching a game at a stadium? I repeat, it is not every trend you must follow. There is currently no basis upon which games should be played indoors in any part of Africa, and CAF/NFF will certainly not pass up on an opportunity to sell tickets because 2 people have tested positive for corona virus in Nigeria, neither of whom have died. |

safarigirl: Firstly taking precautions like playing games indoors is not an 'European thing' it is a common sense thing. Common sense should tell you that taking steps not to aggravate the situation is what is most important in situations like this Secondly you can't authoritatively tell the number of people with the Corona Virus in Nigeria, and preventing congregating in large numbers like that Afcon qualifier would save thousands of lives if there are undetected cases of the Coronavirus Lastly you can't tell me that CAF/NFF value the 1000 Naira per ticket more than the lives of Nigerian citizens. 5 Likes |

Subzero047: Before you make decisions like denying fans chance to watch their teams play, you must provide a damning reason, and two Corona virus cases in Lagos, will sadly, not count as sufficient, to close off the stadium in Asaba. They should kuku scrap the game off, than deny fans entry based on a corona virus scare, because that one won't even work in Nigeria Your thoughtfulness is appreciated though, but it is far too early for this suggestion. The match is in three weeks, in three weeks, there might be zero cases of the virus in Nigeria, or ten. No need to get ahead of yourself, except you have plans to import the virus into the country. Some of you are so eager to join in the count of corona ravaged countries, it seems |

Match that is on the 27th, somebody is already suggesting the stadium be closed off, the way some people want to identify with this Corona virus sha. Other countries are calculating the timely end of the virus, Nigerians are looking forward to more patients in their country |

Subzero047: Sounds like you're calculating the spread of the virus in Nigeria, which is still a negative thing. Others are saying it will be gone, you are implying otherwise. They call such things, doomsday predicitions. Anyway, save your calculation for later, when It will matter. For now, there is no need for you to calculate or watch anything, especially as, you are not a member of any of the concerned bodies. In two weeks, the situation on ground will determine what decisions will be taken. No dey wish us bad in advance. 1 Like |

As far as I'm concerned the two guys from Italy (Ola Aina and Ekong) should be excused from the game. They could pick up the virus while travelling and infect the whole players. 1 Like |

andrewbaba44:Right in what ways? The people at the helms of affairs are already taking precautionary measures, what else do you guys want? Seems like Nigerians likes it when they get associated with everything that happens in the rest of the world. Corona is not an epidemic here, yet you guys wants the system to shutdown as if we are China or Italy 1 Like |

Subzero047:You are the one with fake sense of “ wokeness” have you been to ogbogonogo market in Asaba? Are you going to shut that too since you don’t want people to contact the virus? the same people that goes to that market will be the ones to come watch the match, the ones coming in from abroad will be checked at the border......markets,churches, mosque and other businesses in Asaba has been operating in full capacity, yet you want them to play the match behind closed doors, because it was done somewhere else. Now ask yourself, me and you, who dey reason well? 2 Likes |

andrewbaba44: It is not one match that will make it spread Kuku tell people to stop going to church and close down the schools. You are more likely to get corona virus in those places, than at a football game anyway. So, if you want to exercise caution, target the right places first, anything else looks more like an attempt to identify with Europe. Even when Ebola ravaged Lagos state and reached Port-Harcourt, nobody closed down anything, it is now 2 Corona cases that will make government or CAF play a game behind closed doors? Unu amaro ka ha sikwa do. |
