Do you have to destroy the wall this much just to install the tank? Bad workmanship.

Let me come into this, This project looks like renovation project and for this type of WC to be installed the cistern must be buried or concealed in the wall. The tiles must be remove and a dwarf wall must be introduce to conceal the tank.

on this. type of WC there is no major maintenance . Only thing to change is the control

Conceal tank don't use to have issues one you buy original product e.g ...vitra products or Geberit products it serve long and easy to Maintain and once the installer know how to install it without allowed any sand to enter inside the tank and the advantage is that it beautiful your house, it saves water too sir e.t.c

The closet ( conceal design)has its advantages and disadvantages same as wall hung wc.

Conceal wc merit.
1. It save space than wall hung or close couple wc. (At least it same about 300-450mm space)

2. Yes it. save water than others common type ( the conceal system is designed to use just 4-6ltrs of water to flush, while the wall hung or close couple uses about 7-10lts of water to flush.

3 very easy and take lesser time to clean bcs you only need to clean the seat only ( bcs the tank is already seal inside the wall)


Demerits
1. More costly to get than the regular types.

2. It’s quite difficult to carry out any repair to the conceal tank Incase of any leakage.

3. It’s not easy to quickly short off the supply valve in case of any emergency leakage.

Actually you are right but never say never,.. when it comes to repair it do gives a lot of work and stress to carry out repair on it. Although Geberit product usually do water leakage test on there product before they roll it out for sale.
But that doesn’t mean leakage doesn’t comes up once in a while ( forget the 25yrs warranty written on there product.)
