panch001:bullshit A breach in the circuit will burn and destroy the charger. It won't increase its voltage that will turn around and kill you. Its like saying some breach in car engine can make the engine run 1000km/h when the maximum speed of the engine is 230km/h. |

I'm sorry to say this but it baffles me how that USB charger cable can electrocute someone...There is something else the public is not being told concerning this sad thing, i think the law have to step in and do a professional investigation. It could be suicide or murder. |

ExAngel007: when will Nigerians stop been stupid? it's only 5v that goes through your phone charger. how can 5volts kill? 220 volts can't kill you at once when mistakenly held or handled. how come 5volts? |
Re: Man Electrocuted While Charging Phone In Port-Harcourt, Rivers (Graphic Photos) by MartinsD12(m): 12:22pm On Mar 11, 2020 |
jabolo:What could have caused it is it substandard charge or power surge I thought if their is power cuttage the current stops to flow through the USB 5v once the head charger is burned by power surge |

THIS IS A CLEAR SIGN OF MURDER. THE MAXIMUM VOLTAGE A MOBILE PHONE CHARGER WILL CARRY IS 7Volts DC and not AC. THERE ARE ZENER DIODES THAT CONTROLS VOLTAGE RISING ABOVE THAT. THE AC (PART (alternate current) OF THE CHARGER HAD BEEN STEPPED DOWN TO harmless DC(direct current) THROUGH A SMALL TRANSFORMER RIGHT WITHIN THE CHARGER. IN CASE OF HIGH VOLTAGE THE CHARGER WILL BURN INSIDE AND NOT EVEN THE WIRE THEN CUT OFF SUPPLY. The issue must be well investigated. 2 Likes |

Let me say it again for the benefit of the so called "educated guys" shouting 5V from usb can't kill you, ignorance can kill you. Don't assume 5V can't kill you, a faulty charger can kill you in seconds. Don't play ludo with your life. A good charger should not kill but a faulty charger can! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_cWTWB-N_I |

SUPERPACK:It could be possible, I am sure the adapter must have been a counterfeit that didn't meet all the safety standards. It looks like the rectifiers failed thereby allowing the full fledged AC (230v 50hz) to pass through the wire. That ultimately burnt the wire and electrocuted him. ![]() ![]() 1 Like |
