The phone is inside a leather case( Its INSULATED) The USB Cable itself is INSULATED and not burnt anywhere, the man didn't die from Phone electrocution but other means! Lets stop causing fear unnecessarily!!!

chargers give out 1 to 3 amp which is not enough to even shock let alone kill....shock starts from 30 amp
grin..do u know current as little as 0.2A can kill..bro next time talk about the voltage not current, most times its the voltage that causes electrocution ok..

I have said this before and I will repeat it again;

This man may have murdered and maybe a lighter used to burn and char his hand to make it look like a charger accident.

Research has proven it over and over again that the volts contained in a phone charger cannot kill a human being. Even, how many times have we seen were an electric current killed someone? Our impulses are designed in such a way that a single shock will jolt you away in a split second to keep you safe.

If not that Nigeria is a very useless country and an irredeemable zoo filled with very hopeless people in large proportions, a forensic department of the police will be able to discover many fingerprints on this man's body.

What am I even talking about. Do we even have a police force not to talk of the forensic department? They are busy running after yahoo boys who brings money! Hopeless nation who their criminal, irresponsible politicians have stolen away there past, present and future.

Put the Country in your prayers

For your information a killer voltage is just 0.5v AC. So small breach from the circuit of the charger can kill person.
bullshit

A breach in the circuit will burn and destroy the charger. It won't increase its voltage that will turn around and kill you.

Its like saying some breach in car engine can make the engine run 1000km/h when the maximum speed of the engine is 230km/h.

I though am the only one thinking in this way... if truly the usb was the caused of his death why the USB did not burnt too...

someone is connected to his death

I suspect murder or suicide here. How can a 5v USB electrocute a grown up human being, something I even put in my mouth. Even if the charger goes bad such wound looks out of it. Waiting for professionals to throw more light on the matter.

I'm sorry to say this but it baffles me how that USB charger cable can electrocute someone...There is something else the public is not being told concerning this sad thing, i think the law have to step in and do a professional investigation. It could be suicide or murder.

when will Nigerians stop been stupid?
it's only 5v that goes through your phone charger.
how can 5volts kill?
220 volts can't kill you at once when mistakenly held or handled.
how come 5volts?
Re: Man Electrocuted While Charging Phone In Port-Harcourt, Rivers (Graphic Photos) by MartinsD12(m): 12:22pm On Mar 11, 2020
jabolo:

Where you plug the charger into the socket is a transformer that steps down 220v to 5v AC, then other electronics covert that AC to DC for your phone. In sub-standard chargers, the insulation is easily breached between the cables conveying the transformer primary (220V) and secondary (5V) so you could effectively have 220V AC all along the entire charger right up to the cable, which can kill.

Ordinarily, the electrical circuit should trip quickly at the fuse or distribution board when it detects a large inrush current upon the insulation breach, or when the victim is shocked. This has not happened means the electrical system was not professionally installed.

These two failings being present could have contributed to the electrocution but the victim could also have had underlying heart problems which made him succumb quicker.
What could have caused it is it substandard charge or power surge I thought if their is power cuttage the current stops to flow through the USB 5v once the head charger is burned by power surge

in yoruba when someone gets electrocuted they say 'o ti gan pa', you know why? the body gets stiffed in the same position it was at the time of the electric shock that's why he's neck is that way.

any how you die, you get stiff in that position

THIS IS A CLEAR SIGN OF MURDER. THE MAXIMUM VOLTAGE A MOBILE PHONE CHARGER WILL CARRY IS 7Volts DC and not AC. THERE ARE ZENER DIODES THAT CONTROLS VOLTAGE RISING ABOVE THAT. THE AC (PART (alternate current) OF THE CHARGER HAD BEEN STEPPED DOWN TO harmless DC(direct current) THROUGH A SMALL TRANSFORMER RIGHT WITHIN THE CHARGER. IN CASE OF HIGH VOLTAGE THE CHARGER WILL BURN INSIDE AND NOT EVEN THE WIRE THEN CUT OFF SUPPLY. The issue must be well investigated.

Let me say it again for the benefit of the so called "educated guys" shouting 5V from usb can't kill you, ignorance can kill you.

Don't assume 5V can't kill you, a faulty charger can kill you in seconds. Don't play ludo with your life.

A good charger should not kill but a faulty charger can!

It could be possible, I am sure the adapter must have been a counterfeit that didn't meet all the safety standards. It looks like the rectifiers failed thereby allowing the full fledged AC (230v 50hz) to pass through the wire. That ultimately burnt the wire and electrocuted him. cool cool
