eyinola: Gala to hold stomach that they will litter on the mat, with the crumbs everywhere. One woman wanted to feed her baby inside my car and I wanted to stop her but then, it's a baby. The woman smeared pap on my seat, mat and door handle. When I've ended the trip, she wanted to get down and go, I called her back and told her clean up after her. She wanted to use the baby as excuse but after looking at my face and noticed that I wasn't having none of it, she grudgingly cleaned up. If you allow them, they will litter the whole place. I don't want to generalize but most of them are like that. You'll be seeing cans of soft drinks or wraps of plantain chips at the back of your car as if we are running a waste disposal service. Bunch of lazy and dirty people. 19 Likes |

Honestly, I don’t see any big deal with transfers. If all businesses accept transfer, I won’t ever walk around with cash. It’s really no big deal, just be smart about it. A gt acct works real good because the transactions are really fast. While picking up a rider, observe the environment and also your rider in case of ‘failed transfer’. Don’t just drive your car, be a DRIVER. 1 Like |

Wow!!! I joined this thread to see how this rideshare thing works. I was hoping I can buy a few cars to try it out but the ways and manner some owners here are complaining about some drivers not remitting money in time is scary. This is still sounding like the same Danfo business I did many years back. Everyday story! I will probably have to discuss business like this with my doctor to know if my blood pressure medication can handle this. 3 Likes |

kodred: Businesses can not accept transfers because they have a better option Have you heard of CARD PAYMENTS? Yes, card is much more better and safer than transfers. It is because it is Uber where the fare is not huge. Some car dealers will never accept transfers unless the person buying the vehicle has the same name as the account that is transferring Transfers have been used to receive ransoms with the suspect not knowing. There's nothing safe about a transfer in business. You can be scammed, set up, implicated..... That's why businesses settle for CARD through POS or integrating systems like Paystack or Flutterwave Even Uber and Bolt have repeatedly warned drivers to stay off it 5 Likes |

Combination of many things, from partners not putting their cars in order ,from drivers feeling entitled , wickedness, keep in mind this is Lagos, many are mad and few are roaming.... Since we import everything. And we depend on oil as the main foreign exchange earner. And with the currant oil clash between Russia and Saudi Arabia ,and now add coronavirus join am , sh*t is about to get real for the Nigerian economy |

dru23:I don't think there there will be much ripple effect on transportation in Nigeria and in some other sectors; In regards to the dropped prices of oil by Saudi Arabia to spite Russia. Drop prices would only affect the oil companies by shrinking productivity hence, which might result to laying off some staffs; Now if there will be any ripple effect in Nigeria economy - The banks who loans these oil companies will take a hit not the transportation sector of the economy - On the contrary; These soon to be laid off oil workers might even convert their cars to Ehailing cars flooding the market or some might turn drivers which isn't bad at all. My future prediction - Russia is just being greedy and opportunist, Saudi is just being protective of their main source of income and business interests and the U.S is looking at both them so funny because in the end they still will trade with the almight Dollar. Once these Coronavirus pandemic dies down which I believe (half the time is causing this overreaction), Russia would suck it up not having to be greedy and Saudi will sheath thier sword - But for Nigeria we would take advantage of this whole situation to purposely make our economy unstable so lots of corruption would be committed in the political level, economical level etc due to a little unstability of naira to the dollar. 1 Like |

izzou: Very true. Card payments are the safest But we are a peculiar people and it’s because of drivers complains that made uber introduce cash payments. Think about the scenario of someone forgetting their debit card or maybe it’s someone else that’s paying the fare or crazily, you park for your rider to use the atm and them hoodlums decide to try their luck etc Carrying cash gan is not safe for the driver so what are we on about? Let’s not mask our ego with professionalism. Politely tell your riders they have to wait for confirmation because it’s not even an acceptable means of payment in the first place. I’m speaking in the context of ride-sharing bro, which one concern ransom again lol |

A305: Nigeria basically imports everything. So cars coming in either for personal use or business use will be affected. The dollar has gone up now ,meaning for me to buy USA is at the rate of 375 naira. The cost of spare parts is also going to go up . Importers need dollars to buy parts from abroad, basically the cost of imported items is about to increase no matter how you look am ... There is a recession coming soon , it has started showing signs in Europe and USA .. And Nigeria that depends on oil and goods from China, will feel it the worse |

dru23: There were days when I will get jittery when I hear this predictions, but not anymore. Recession, global meltdown, oil boom and oil down turn makes no impart negative or positive whats ever in Nigeria. What ever stage it is the same things are still happening in Nigeria. Bad roads, ASSU strike, looting of public funds, politicians jumbo pay, rainy season flood, epidermic power etc they've always been here. Even corona pandemic has not made any impart on this country 2 months now. I'm not saying we should be care free but at the same time stop worrying yourself silly. And stop throwing panic statements, some peoples BP may not handle it. The fear of death is as dangerous as death itself. 7 Likes |

kodred: Masking our ego with professionalism? Even the people you are partnering with have strongly warned you to desist from it. The app is very simple to use. You can do cash now, and change to card immediately. I can't even remember the last time I paid cash for a ride. It's very simple And you're just making excuses for transfers.Rider forgot debit card and blah blah blah The same rider that forgot his debit card will pay cash when he gets tomatoes, pepper and yam from the market...No transfers I can keep counting various transactions that you have to pay cash. Yet, when it gets to Uber drivers, they have to be peculiar and understanding 99.9% of scam stories here all emancipated from transfers. If you know you don't have money before requesting, change it to card and request. What's the rocket science in that? Anyways, its just my opinion sha. 7 Likes |

izzou: Nigerian people are a doubtful bunch. They don’t want their cards on apps. I personally pay with cash and transfer and have never had any issue with drivers. If a rider decides to be funny with transfer, you go show am say you ride the streets all day long. Literally! Bro I’m not for or against. All I’m saying is, it’s business and it comes with all sort of challenges. |

Why can't the same rider speaking grammar for you to understand, go and speak it there? Let's enjoy the thread bro. To each, his own 8 Likes |
