Where do we go from here? Is there respite insight? Given the events at the global level, things may likely get worse before they get better. Is NSE ready for the blow that will be dealt the economy? I don't think so. At this rate that dollar scarcity is hitting hard, expect more harsh fiscal policies from CBN. Dorm account owners will be first hit. Then, importers will face all kind of duties just to discourage dollar based import. Then, inflation will hit harder. Prices of goods and services will go up. Then, funding for projects will be cut by govt. Then, there won't be enough money in circulation.

Brace up people.

Its worrisome

360 to 420 will be 14.2% devaluation.

DY is over 25%.

So I have beat devaluation. No capital appreciation yet o.

Before the oyinbos will bring in their USD, doors don lock. They will meet us in space. grin

We don’t know how much will be declared as dividend yet? And we don’t know what earnings will look like? This is just human presumption grin

Nigerian banks have mastered the art and science of making money in the country no matter the direction of the economy.

The dividend paids by Zenith bank increased by 56% between the last recession of 2016 and 2020

That was because NAIRA was devalued from N165 to N365 and their shareholders will be jumping at dividend yield forgotting that their purchasing power has been halved.

See another devaluation coming soonest that will stimulate the economy then banks will discount their Forex gain to up their PAT to thw delight of their shareholders..

The circle goes on and on

The USD hoarding has started in earnest.

Bitcoin is getting crushed. We will reload it again below $3K lol

They want to take BTC to 3,400.

So if the crash continues tomorrow and Monday it trades below 3,400, then that is the trigger.

I no know who dey do this thing worldwide. But we don catch them. Everything is accelerating downwards very fast. This can't be a chance happening.

This is a wonderful time for wealth transfer. I remember the ride from $550 to $20k. History must repeat itself...By force by fire, money must be made

There should be excess liquidity supplied.

There’s joy in cherry-picking in bear market. It makes you richer when you’re patient. Oracle $ to Naira devaluation prediction is around 420. Please this is just my own rumor ooooo not from CBN.

Note: Don’t throw stone at me, I’m just trading my own facts not hope (emotions)

You are really hell bent on selling those dollars that you bought last time at #500.00.

Jisike Sir. You will recover some of them.

In as much as devaluation is expected (long over due), you are over-dwelling on it and missing the big cake that's baked overly.

You are absolutely right. I’m thinking around $2,700/2,400 and they will ride it up from there. That’s my target price and let’s see how it goes. By force by fire, money shall be made

Continue to buy low. Zenith cannot trade at N1.

Now, the kind of scenario I dreaded most is what is happening in market now.......buying pieces of 2, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 units. This better be the tail end of the dangerous games they're playing. undecided

The motherf*@king BAT himself! The guy na warrior! He deserves some accolades regardless of how he destroyed his firm's shareholder value. Oando time is coming esp when devaluation takes place. One of the few NSE companies that would likely benefit from devaluation effects. Still on my watchlist! cool

Yes. Read about Spanish flu.

You reduce the impact of the virus by holding it down where you notice it. That way it either dies with the people or people's immune system resist it.

China has reduced. SOUTH Korea has reduced. I believe Iran should be redu

It is US and EU we are waiting for.

It is the economic impact that we are waiting for. The EU was already going into recession even without the virus. So that same medicine that they would have used then, they will triple it and supply to prevent a recession or reduce the effect.

Now it is the contrarian approach we are apply.
gadam it! U know I have not been following the news. They have reduced from 2b to how many?

Rumour has it that Firstbank is about to merge with Heritage and Polaris bank

https://www.independent.ng/firstbank-set-to-merge-with-heritage-bank-polaris-bank/

Probably! Both Heritage and Polaris banks are already highly indebted to First Bank from their inter-bank lending transactions (cos for a while now First Bank have been their major backer/guarantor re. inter-bank deals and cheque clearing etc); and no other feasible way out than for First Bank to acquire them. Still a fluid situation though according to the industry feelers!
