Hi All. I'm relatively new in dealing with stocks, but I've been following the current economic trends with keen interest. I'd like to invest in some of the dropping banking stocks. Someone here mentioned Zenith Bank will be a good deal. Can anyone please point me in the direction of verified and efficient stockbrokers? Please respond publicly. Thanks in advance. |

You should rather look for money (not loan) to buy more cos eventually, the market would reverse or you earn dividends at a rate better than any REIT or fixed deposit. These are awesome times! We should give an award to the guy selling eventually; EFFECTIVE WEALTH "TRANSFERER" OF 2020. locodemy: |

locodemy: What if the end does not come tomorrow and Zenith touches less than N10.00. You are only exhibiting the fears hidden in you. Investment is not a do or die affairs, it is a great game which you can use to ease tension. Please invest and cash fun, does not matter if the market is flat , bullish or bearish . Try and make the best use of the opportunities different cycles of the market presents. Hope you are buying, this opportunities should be well utilised. Sold some of my money market fund investment last week Friday to take position in equity, sold more today and will be invested tomorrow by God's grace . Instead of lamenting trying and turn the current event to your favour by doing the needful. Everything will be alright for those who are prepared emotionally, spiritually, financially, mentally and physically. 10 Likes |

I fear non-performing loan in banks book this year will increase. The above fear may limit banks in meeting their profit target for 2020. In my opinion, discounting year 2019 profit for the banks when projecting 2020 profit will be more realistic. |

RabbiDoracle: This is just a short term pump...it is going to get worst because everything settled. Remember this is not a liquidity problem...we are talking about Coronavirus pandemic |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by tunene66: 8:52pm On Mar 12, 2020 |
gloriousdawn: That's why the prices are dropping. It is glaring that the 2020 profits will be considerably lower than that of 2019 hence the considerable drop in value of the shares. |

gloriousdawn: In Nigeria, what will make the NPL rise? Just airliners that go abroad and Petroleum marketing companies will take more hit in Lagos. Businesses are not stopped in Lagos like the type seen in China, Italy. For the oil crisis, most of them have taken their hit in 2014 till 2018. The fall in oil price will reverse with time. If you are buying foreign stocks, I can tell you to avoid banks, tourism and hospitality stocks because of the economic fallout. EU was teethering on Recession even before the virus. So all hands will be on deck to prevent it. Hence, I am betting on reversal by buying good companies at very low prices. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Nobody: 8:02am On Mar 13, 2020 |
Godisfaithful: Read about Spanish Flu pandemic. At a point, they wrote that the virus goes from places to places and stays there for 1 month and if successfully contained, it kills all it wants or the people resist it. After that it is gone. Now China and South Korean cases are drastically reduced. They have started closing all those makeshift hospitals. EU problem was their free border policy. Now they are closing borders to contain it. The fall is stocks worldwide is to price in the effect of the economic damage the virus will cause on companies books. After that government will support them and distribute me. Na that one my eye dey and not all these virus stories. Once you start seeing reduction of cases on EU and US probably end of this March, market will look up. And those who I bought from will come and buy from me Please tell the seller to come out today. and place at 10% offer. All I know is that if Zenith gets to N5, UBA will trade at 50kobo. 3 Likes |

tunene66: If CBN devalues, banks will have more gains due to revaluation of their net forex assets. And you will not see any effect. It is in April that the major stimulus will come when some EU states and Japan declare technical recession. Dem go knock for your house and say come out, take cash and spend 1 Like |

Godisfaithful: Market will calm soon. But before it calms, let NSE dig small hole today and Monday abeg. Hong Kong announced in February that there will be cash payout to spend their way out of recession. The worst bubble is the one that will come next when they have shared the whole money, bidded the whole world assets very high just to get out of recessions. By that time, I will be in my village watching people as I was watching then in January. 1 Like |
