Abuja Female Mechanic In Tears As FCTA Demolishes Her Shop, Seize Cars by calabardick(m): 11:34am On Mar 15, 2020
Yesterday afternoon, at about 3:15pm, I was getting ready to leave for Female Entrepreneurship and Employment Network Int’l (FEENI) INT’L WOMEN’S DAY 2020 EVENT

Immediately, i saw 3 Hilux parked in front of my workshop with Men from Development Control and FCDA to survey a building opposite us not knowing it was our workshop they were actually targeting and they left
But few minutes later, I saw an Hiab in VIO colour Parked in front of our gate and another behind it, then 3 bulldozer and started seeing different Hilux with troop of Civil Defence,Tax Force, SSS,VIO, Police and others without uniform they were more than 100.

They forced their way in, slapped my employees, beat me and began destroying my workshop, towed away Six (6) customer’s, Vehicle and all effort to make them stop was futile. They didn’t stop until they destroyed a large part of my workshop and almost injured a woman and her child.

Everything I have worked for years was brought down in less than an 30minutes.

My 7years old daughter who just returned from school with her sisters started crying and was asking me that “Mummy are the going to kill us”?

I was crying and said no, She asked again, did they Shoot you?

Unfortunately, other mechanic garages around were left untouched

Is this what a women who is encouraging other women through her capacity training in automotive and create employment opportunities to eradicate social vices should received rather than been encouraged?

This is what I get for Creating Jobs for Nigerian Youth, This is what I get for Empowering Women to be Self Reliance all in the name of the place is not designed for Mechanic workshop except Residential, Will I build and live a comfortable life when I don’t have a Job?

Will I build on my Land when Nigeria youth are Suffering?

Thank you FCT for Distroying what I have laboured for

Thank you Nigeria Government for taking back the grant you gave me to Establish my business

Thank you for bringing me back to Zero

Thank you for sending us back home

Thank you for beating me up for being a female Mechanic and an Entrepreneur

Iam calling the attention of the Nigerians to this Injustice

Women and their gender games. What happened to gender equality? El rufai demolished many properties of Men back then in Abuja, no one complained about gender, Why now? You were served papers severally before the demolition.
Stop crying and pray to God to touch the heart of Government to compensate you. You’ll be fine.

Have they not been warned before to relocate?

.

Just like that?

We should stop attaching unnecessary emotions to things

Quit with the unecessary whipping up of sentiments.

That you are a female and a mechanic isn't enough for you to flout laws without aby regard.

If indeed you sighted your workshop in a residential zone, that you are a female mechanic who is empowering the youths shouldn't grant you a license to break the laws or do as you wish.

Na one my sisters be the first female mechanic for Nigeria but she know her boundary.

Lets learn to always do that which is right before crying blue murder where there isn't one.

Its true, but u still believe they're aren't of level to men bah, U said yes.

So since you know that, u should consider her, its not easy being like that, do you know how many challenges she would have faced to be a mechanic, Haba , she tried , just pity her and don't talk like that.

No matter how the stubborn child behaves, her parents will never reject her.

most Nigerians living abroad wouldn't want to invest in Nigeria after reading this news. The foreign direct investments flowing into Nigeria have been dwindling very fast because nobody wants to invest in a shithole without respect for rule of law. I expect more foreign court cases and payment of damages like the recent Mambilla Dam case.

Quite sad. Not until every government in Nigeria starts thinking of best alternative for business people before any demolition or relocation. Nigeria might never be a better place. That's why i so much love seyi Makinde. See, to get capital and set up a business in this nigeria is not easy. Imagine, a government comes to demolish all what you have worked for and you had to start from scratch again. Not everybody can survive such. Come what may, a government social responsibility is to ensure good welfare of her citizen in any aspect and meeting business people to discuss better alternative before demolishing their place of business is just one of the social responsibility.

Women are damn a weakling. Men pass through much worse and have had to pick themselves back up. A proof of feminism is the ability to Independently get yourself back up but guess who's going to help her out - a man.

OMG!

The woman should hire the best lawyers and go to court.

Her compensation should be in the billions.

She should get someone to photograph her bruises.

Nigeria is a lawless jungle, really.

Even if the woman was at fault, why would you beat her up?

The questions of her little girls just totally broke my heart.

Did you even read the post before commenting?

Did you see where it said that the court had decided in favour of the woman and there is a standing order from the court to the authority to stand down any kind of action against the woman?

Did you read that part?

Honestly i just tire for some people. They will know they are breaking the rules ooo. But they will use poverty and hustling as excuse, as if everyone started breaking laws to hustle society will be better.

Just like all these traders using a portion of roads to display and conduct their business. When you wanna drive pass and beg them to move their wares they'll be forming kingkong and people will support them but at the sight of govt enforcement agencies they dissapear in seconds and when their wares are finally confiscated they bring up the country hard and hustling excuse.

The woman should head to court if she believes she was wronged.
