The EPL may have to end the league like this. Or if they like, fly to Africa and finish it under hot conditions that are averse to the virus. Most likely North African stadiums.

Flying to North Africa where there's already reported case of Corona virus in Algeria will not be a wise decision.

Let them just put the fixtures to a halt for now abeg

Let them cancel the season and render it inconclusive.

We start next season in August.

Not satisfied the season should be cancelled

Our manager won’t be fit by then
We’ve not been training as our players have been in isolation.

How ready would we be for fixtures in just 3 weeks

I'm sure this is just a first step.

If things don't improve generally with the Corona virus thing, they might cancel it altogether. I'm guessing they don't want to take a panic decision just yet.

A club statement read: "Our London Colney training centre has been closed after head coach Mikel Arteta received a positive COVID-19 result this evening.

"Arsenal personnel who had recent close contact with Mikel will now self-isolate in line with Government health guidelines.

"We expect this to be a significant number of people from Colney, including the full first-team squad and coaching staff, as well as a smaller number of people from our Hale End Academy which we have also temporarily closed as a precaution.

"We expect those who did not have close contact with Mikel to return to work in the coming days. In the meantime our Colney and Hale End training centres will undergo a deep clean and our other club sites are operating as normal."

Managing director Vinai Venkatesham said: "The health of our people and the wider public is our priority and that is where our focus is.

"Our thoughts are with Mikel who is disappointed but in good spirits. We are in active dialogue with all the relevant people to manage this situation appropriately, and we look forward to getting back to training and playing as soon as medical advice allows."

Head of football Raul Sanllehi added: "Mikel and the full first-team squad, players and staff, will be fully supported, and we look forward to getting back to training and playing as soon as medical advice allows. Obviously Mikel’s full recovery is the priority now for us all.

"We will work with Public Health England on the next steps in regard to our facilities and staff, and with the Premier League, Football Association and relevant clubs around our forthcoming matches in the Premier League and Emirates FA Cup.

"It is clear we will not be able to play some fixtures on their currently scheduled dates. We will update supporters who have tickets for forthcoming games with more information as soon as possible.

"We are now working to trace any other people who have had recent close contact with Mikel. We will let them know what has happened and they should follow the NHS guidance which is likely to recommend self-isolation."

Arsenal have confirmed that their Premier League match against Brighton this weekend has been postponed.

Celebrities infected by the coronavirus

US actor Tom Hanks, the wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta are among the rich and famous infected by the coronavirus:

- Entertainers -

Tom Hanks and his wife, actress and singer Rita Wilson, are the first Hollywood stars to announce they are infected. They have been placed in quarantine in a Gold Coast hospital in Australia. Hanks has urged the public to heed the advice of experts.

Best-selling Chilean writer Luis Sepulveda, who lives in northern Spain, has also been infected, showing symptoms of the new Coronavirus in February, after he had returned to his home from a literary festival in neighbouring Portugal.

- Sport -

England's football Premier League, the richest in the world, is badly affected: Arsenal's Spanish manager Arteta and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, who is British, have both contracted the coronavirus.

Italian football team Juventus has announced that one of their players, defender Daniele Rugani, has tested positive.

French basketball player Rudy Gobert has become the first US National Basketball Association player to test positive, prompting the NBA to abruptly suspend the season.

Utah Jazz star Gobert has apologised for potentially exposing people to the coronavirus, after triggering scorn on social media for pointedly touching every microphone and voice recorder on a table in front of him at a media availability on Monday.

A second Utah player, Donovan Mitchell, has also been confirmed to have tested positive for COVID-19.

Colombian cyclist Fernando Gaviria, is doing well after being admitted to hospital in the United Arab Emirates 10 days ago.

He is the second of two cyclists at the UAE Tour to have been identified with the virus after Russian Gazprom cyclist Dmitry Strakhov.

- Politicians -

Canadian premier Trudeau has been placed in isolation for two weeks after his wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau tested positive.

Spain's equality minister Irene Montero has tested positive and has been quarantined along with her partner, deputy prime minister and radical left Podemos leader Pablo Iglesias.

French Culture Minister Franck Riester is staying in his Paris home after contracting the coronavirus earlier this week.

British MP Nadine Dorries, a minister in the health department who helped craft the legislation to fight the bug, has tested positive, the first British politician to do so.

Several senior officials in Iran have been infected, including Vice President Massoumeh Ebtekar and Iraj Harirchi, deputy health minister.

Australian Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton, has entered hospital quarantine after being infected. He recently met Ivanka Trump, the daughter and aide of US President Donald Trump.

Fabio Wajngarten, a top aide to Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has tested positive for the disease following a trip on which both met with the US president. Bolsonaro is awaiting results of his own test.

True tho. But was just telling you that Mustafi was once worse and his error. It was just to show you how bad he was in case you might have forgotten. Nothing More!

Baba no dey sugarcoat anything Jàre. Even Michael Owen when asked about mustafi said he's just not good enough. Nobody is disputing the fact that he's a professional footballer who has had a long time coming having paid his dues, but mustafi is just not good enough as a defender for starting CB for a team that wants to be taken serious as top contenders for the title.

Players do have a drop in form leading to a bad season ; we know. That video I posted was not just one season video of mustafi having a bad one, rather it showed mustafi in more than two seasons making the wrong decisions consistently, refusing to maintain an offside trap position, slowly reacting to crosses landing in his front before an opposing player coolly slots the ball home and even one involving him and Zaha where he was calling Leno to raise out yards away when he failed at his own primary duty of preventing Zaha gain access to the ball. The list is endless.

Mustafi na dirty abeg! Whatever Arteta is doing with him presently is good for now....till our new additions click and displace him

lol... I even watched another video of mustafi/Jones howlers. It was even worse than the one you sent sef.
I'm not really sugar coating, but I'm just giving him chances, seeing the improvement he made. I know koscielny and Monreal started as badly as he did and later became a rock in their positions. That's what I'm giving him too

IMO, Mustafi on his day is okay and far from being terrible. But like I've always said, to move up the ladder and compete with the likes of City and Liverpool, We need better. Mustafi is 5th/6th material at best.

He is not a youngster that should be given time, those can develop from the squad.

Mustafi’s situation is one of the bones I have to pick with Wenger!!!!!

Wenger had the opportunity to sell Mustafi when Inter Milan made 2 strong offers for Mustafi 3 years ago but the man turned both offers down!!!! I nearly cried that season... it was like a spell.

I love Wenger to death, I don’t care what anyone has to say about him but I will never forgive him for that.

Hmmm.
Monreal was very solid defensively, the best in recent years, he was also quite okay going forward..
Monreal was arguably a PL winning material and surely a top 4 player.

You know it's almost at the same age as mustafi he started gaining consistency, and before time started becoming indispensable in the lb position. Before then he was erratic and his wing was mostly targeted by opposition. That's what me, I'm believing with mustafi recent form, he might turn the tide from erratic to consistent.

No how at least half of our team won't have the carrier. Aside that match he also hugged almost all our platers, the players trained a day before man city match, and that will be another avenue for contact

What's with the Coutinho rumors. They are looking real..

Ozil will retire well if he sees a good replacement that can dribble too.

I hope Pepe is training hard on his decision making?

Coutinho will definitely be an upgrade on Iwobi,Ozil,Mhicky and Nelson.
An average coutinho is a top4 material.
