Let a "werey" Governor Wike be the Governor of Edo state. He would be sending the Oba of Benin to fetch water for him. 7 Likes |

Breeze don blow, fowl nyash open; politics has exposed the hypocrisy, iberiberism, and irrelevance of Emirs & Monarchs in the Northern Nigeria, it has always been a hoax they use to deceive the south that North is united, united by terrorism and poverty I guess 2 Likes |

kygo: Shut up and stop talking out of ignorance. Even as Lucky igbinedion (when he was governor) and his father (the esama of benin kingdom) were having issues with the late oba of Benin, it never crossed his mind one day to dethrone the oba. It can never happen. If you know the history of the Benin Kingdom, and the spiritual powers that follow occupiers of that seat, you wouldn't be talking like this As Benin is, they already know their next oba (the first son of the current oba) and no governor or king makers can alter it. 6 Likes 1 Share |

MyVILLAGEpeople: Yes, the Oba had issues with the then governor and his father. But go and ask them, body tell them. They had to ask for forgiveness. The oba never appeared in court. Moreover, as a governor , you can have issues with the oba of Benin. But you can never think of dethroning him. Never. It can never happen. And when as a governor, you realise that you will spend maximum of 8 years in govt and leave power why the oba will spend years on the throne, you will maintain 5 Likes 1 Share |

Meninmen:you are just blabbing.. nobody dey argue if the Oba get spiritual power or not... but obaseki is stronger than him politically.. he can remove him if the oba trespasses.. same as Alaafin of oyo... kings are not regarded like before... but oba of Benin and alaafin are well respected in nigeria and Africa.. but that does not mean they cant be removed by governors... . Remember sultan of sokoto and emir of kano are the strongest monarch in nigeria, yet one of them was removed... so politics is stronger that monarchy in this era 2 Likes |
