Are they just waking up from a long slumber? After allowing them exploit us for years and years? Everything in this country seem like a joke.

Very apt and well thought by the NASS.

Imagine subscribing a monthly Compact Plus, and after 4 days, you inevitably leave home to spend over a month elsewhere. On expiry of subscription, the useless customer care wont just let you be, calling you every now and then to subscribe again. angry

Una papa.

Pay as you go make sense joor. As per airtime. Charge as per use, not as per time of subscription.
Those guys will look for another way to exploit Nigerians either by increasing subscribtion charges.

Who's the fed govt? Are the reps not part of fg? They're the highest beneficiaries of multi choice in Nigeria. They should do the needful cos the fraud has been here from time immemorial. They do pay as you go in their home country but has found it so difficult to do the Thames in Nigeria. Only a responsible govt frowns at mistreatment meted out to its citizens...this consumerism must end.
well as a business man I will look at it from their own point of view

Business environment in Nigeria is very harsh. I mean look at the things you have to deal with to succeed.. electricity for one, corruption from top to bottom, staffs stealth, bad road network, security unstable government policies that can ground your business over night etc....

Until you leave Nigeria, my people you don't know the shit you have been putting up with all these years.

Judas Iscariot.
And what exactly are you trying to explain in this your story?
That DSTV should not do pay as you go?
You better be very careful with that your leaking mouth.
If you dont need Pay as you go, all you need to do is apply to DSTV not to put you on Pay as you Go while others who wants it can enjoy the benefit of Pay as you Go" in peace.

Landlord should also suspend rent for the month you traveled.
And if you forget your phone for house the company should refund part of the money you used to buy it
If you get hungry within 2 days after leaving buka you should be able to go back for another round.

It might be a bit late by the time they get DSTV to do this. People are gradually moving towards 24 hrs streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime. I even heard DSTV is having same intention.

Long overdue. Even when you are not at home your DSTV subscription is wasting and counting. Pay as you go is the real deal

Tell your useless leaders to fix electricity first before saying anyone should implement pay as u go ...without stable electricity telling cable TV provider to do pay as you go is telling them to close business. You can't force a revenue model on any business , let the FG use NTA startimes to start the pay as you go model let see how far they can go
this is the major reason why it can hardly work most people don't subscribe even because of lack of power,I don't think they can survive with a payg plan

You all think they are fighting for you? They are only waiting for negotiations with Multi choice, the set of reps and Senate we have are too corrupt. As soon as they are settled, that's the end of the matter.

Multi choice doesn't do pay as you go in SA. And these rep people, is DStv our problem?
The poor health care, security issue, poor education is there and it's DStv that's their concern.

It is absolutely true that ass licker Nigerians like you are the reason why foreigners will come to Nigeria and rubbish us here.
Dstv cant try this in another country.
If Dstv wants to run down, let them run down. They should just stop exploiting us.

Nice one from rep Idems from Akwa Ibom but I take the news with a pinch of salt as this is not the first time this issue has been raised at the highest levels of government but the conspirators keep shooting it down after making noise about it for a while.

If only Nigerians knew the details about the ownership structure and shareholding of multichoice Nigeria and why successive governments have been looking the other way anytime this issue of PAYG is brought up.

For now,it remains a wish and a mere motion!

Bless you with your write up more wisdom. I know some brillant people will have something negetive to say. Best comment habe read so far.

Can you say authoritatively that DSTV dont do Pay as you go in South Africa and other countries?
Are you saying those pushing the bill have not done thier findings. before trying to push the bill?
Or you know more than them?
When Lawmakers try to make laws that benefits the common man, it is the very common man that will kill the move.
And later they will say the lawmakers are not doing anything.

Pls this is the best thing that will happen to pay TV in Nigeria

There are other alternatives like Startimes, TSTV, MYTV, etc.

But Nigerians want the best but always want it cheap. Cost of doing business in Nigeria is too expensive, you pay multiple tax, little or no power, little or no security.

If we can't afford DSTV then we should use alternatives and not forcing them on how much they should charge or how they should run their business.

If it was easy then Startimes would have taken over.

DSTV do not offer pay-as-you-go in South Africa.

Customers subscribe monthly in South Africa.

Nigerians are giving MultiChoice too much attention.

That is why the company will confidently exploit Nigerians.

If just 60% of Nigerians go the way of FTA, trust me, this guys will sit up.

Reps are not the ones paying the bulk of subscriptions, the Nigerian populace are.

Do we all remember how MTN was dealing with Nigerians until GLO came to the rescue!!!!!!!
