This is just a directive or resolution that the FG isn't even bound by. Wait for DSTV to start operating pay-as-you-go first before you start wagging your lips.

Who's the fed govt? Are the reps not part of fg? They're the highest beneficiaries of multi choice in Nigeria. They should do the needful cos the fraud has been here from time immemorial. They do pay as you go in their home country but has found it so difficult to do the Thames in Nigeria. Only a responsible govt frowns at mistreatment meted out to its citizens...this consumerism must end.

Tell your useless leaders to fix electricity first before saying anyone should implement pay as u go ...without stable electricity telling cable TV provider to do pay as you go is telling them to close business. You can't force a revenue model on any business , let the FG use NTA startimes to start the pay as you go model let see how far they can go

I wonder how these people reasons. In a country that you can be out of power for 2years and they are thinking of this, is what i don't really understand.
In other climes that PYG is practice, working and minimum wages is per hour, then they should apply that first and minimum wages is also applicable to private business so the fed. govt. should look into it..
Public utilities and facilities is to poor and inadequate which is what govt. should focus first before going after business and trying to increase unemployment.

These guys only needed bribe. They have the direct power to pass laws that prohibits monthly billing and make pay-as -you-go billing compulsory as obtained in other countries and other sectors eg telecommunication and prepaid meter for Electricity.

They are unserious but just needed bribes and lobby from DSTV

Multi choice doesn't do pay as you go in SA. And these rep people, is DStv our problem?
The poor health care, security issue, poor education is there and it's DStv that's their concern.
Pathetic people
my friend's brother in Pretoria once told i think it was pay as you view not pay as you go sorry. I just confirmed from him.

I'm a fan of PAYG services. But truthfully, asking a Satellite TV provider to implement PAYG in a country where there's in no power is just the same as asking him to close shop.

Let me use my self as an example; For the past 21 days I've not met light in my house. When I come back from work every evening, neighbours would inform me that there was light during the day. This also apply to majority of Nigerians.

So for the past three weeks, I can tell you that my TV set has only been turned on about three times, which happened to be on Sundays

In a situation like this, there's no way the operator would not close business in a matter of months.

You know this is not like GSM, which once you charge your phone, you can use it for a long while without necessarily needing a steady power supply.

Its not for the FG to determine the marketing strategy of a private firm.....

All they need is implement a ban on monopoly nd competition by other firm will Mk tins fall in place

I remember when we were glamouring when HiTV came out and whatever it was call when rep/senate restle tv rights to it from dstv, they show ball 1year, then the whole shits and its tv collapse and today what is happening? DSTV still wax strong. DSTV are not forcing anybody to subscribe, like we were paying electricity bill even when power was not available.
You can force them to do pay per view but you cannot force or regulate the charge compare, how many people can tune into their tv and watch nta channels without dstv in nigeria not talking about watching other channel outside nigeria like bbc, mtv, cnn, al jazeera etc those and others are foreign channels and which dstv brought to us into bouquet..
I was thinking that we switch from analog to digital and by now we should have decoders and utility lines that we can easily connect and watch any tv channel within Nigeria!
This would be a terrible idea if this shits happen.

I swear they will curse the senate after that..
The worse picture quality and tv's in dstv bouquet are Nigeria owned one and how will the rep regulate the charges of pay per view should be our concern.

DSTV do not offer pay-as-you-go in South Africa.

Customers subscribe monthly in South Africa.
Don't mind these people that talk anyhow.
I have never heard of any cable network that uses pay as you go tariff. It's always monthly subscription
Both broadbands and cable networks or even Netflix.
The only thing is that they reduce subscription rate for users and offer fantastic packages to lure them

Let's hope corruption does not ruin the effort. Multichoice may offer key government officials a tidy sum to make them look the other way, and we all know how the plot will unfold from thereon.

And why is the company not running down in South Africa and many other countries that Multichoice operate Pay as you Go?
It is absolutely true that ass licker Nigerians like you are the reason why foreigners will come to Nigeria and rubbish us here.
Dstv cant try this in another country.
If Dstv wants to run down, let them run down. They should just stop exploiting us.
Use your common sense and don’t be selfish,it’s easy to operate pay as you go in a country where there is stable electricity unlike Nigeria where there is no light and they might not make a kobo if they implement pay as you go,Infact lot of developed countries does not allow pay as you go in order to protect the company from bankruptcy
Football right is paid yearly or by percentage not pay as you go,they should go after network provider who are ripping people by refusing to provide infinite monthly data sub

So because you yourself responded to his words at 2.25am can I also call you a yahoo boy? That you believe all working class should be sleeping at 2am shows that you are far from making it in life. I have a 77 year old father that I can never remember the last time he is sleeping at 2am. You either see him reading his bible, reading books or planning for his business. At 77. Then because you are a working class you must be sleeping at 2am? Can you see that the problem of this country is not in the leadership but stupid masses and unintelligent fools like you. For your information I am a working class with one of the biggest IOCs in the country and I have my other businesses I run as well and I can't use office hours to be doing that cos it will make me a cheat. So I use my personal hours and those hours of the day like 2 to 5 am are the best hours to do something productive in life.

Bible says a little sleep a little slumber, your poverty will be extremely great. Continue sleeping at 2am o and let's see how you will make it in life. Lazy fool.
