CharleyBright: Yes they don't do pay as you go. Have you tried to subscribe for data on pay as you go compared to monthly subscription. When you do, decide which is cheaper for you. Stunts like this don't help the masses. DStv isn't our problem. People are struggling to eat & live everyday & those people who receive fat cheques focus on something that ¾ of Nigerians can't afford. 1 Like |

It's very simple, since the system is failing you. And, you know there is nothing you can do to change it, do away with it. I was in a francophone country before i came back to the country. There, they have Canal+ , if you doubt my saying, go and research it. The amount they pay to watch the almighty Premiership is not much compared to what Dstv offers my countrymen. See, so many companies are ripping Nigerians. When i tell people around me, what annoys me is that some of them will still find enough strength to challenge what i am saying. So, i decided to "siddon look''. This "suffering and smiling" syndrome is holding this nation far behind. I won't say more than that before THEY come after me with machete. 1 Like |

sniperr007: Rather, i think my first question should have been : Are you a DSTV subscriber? I think you miss the point when u try to analyse the issue with Telcos. It is similar but not same. Dont forget it was same excuse MTN was telling Nigeria that Pay as you Go is not possible. And that Sim cards cannot be sold below a certain amount or they will be out of biz. Today, all these are possible because they were forced. By the way, is Startimes or any other Pay TV doing Pay as you Go? Yes. How are they doing it? Govt is a problem. Yes i agree with you. But then that dont mean that should be the basis for other unneccessary problems to thrive. If DSTV dont want to do " Pay as you Go" let them pack their loads and go. Nigeria is their biggest market. We have to leverage on that and cut a deal. |

CharleyBright: Pack and go. That's what Nigeriansike to say. Do you know the jobs they create directly and indirectly in Nigeria. As for SA. Its monthly. So and yes telcos changed but remember that the technology in telcos and tv is different. In that tech improves in Telcos faster. Why don't Netflix or apply music do pay as you go? Ask yourself that? Its business and not charity. In 2001 when DStv came to Nigeria. It was ₦8k. Those that paid no complain. They crashed the price as the technology improves and as it works with their business plan.. Lets not regulate companies in Nigeria. Shit like this scares investors. Let the market determine price. 2 Likes |

Flier: So why is MTN and other Telcos doing Pay as you Go" not out of Business? Didnt they say they will be out of business of they do Pay as you go? And today, after doing pay as you go, they are still racking in billions. And isnt Startimes doing Pay as you Go? Multichoice are damn selfish. They monopolize the market, get the TV rights and bully and frustrate other Pay TV Providers who intend to make the market more competitive. Pls stop arguing rubbish. Pay as you go is very very possible. They should pack their loads and go if they wont deal. That is when they will lose when they lose 40% of the Market and profit. |

useless jokers. DSTV is not a right. it is a luxury. if you are not happy with the service, opt out and watch NTA. i cannot believe these ediats are still focusing on this nonsense. you want DSTV to move to pay as you go, let a competitor come that will provide the service. that is how it works. of course we have already seen two competitors crash and burn. is startimes pay as you go? https://techpoint.africa/2019/08/09/econet-media-finally-end-kwese-tv/ this is just like that foolish telecomms minister instructing telcos to reduce their data prices. as expectes, when state governments are guoging same telcos for right of way costs - he is suddenly silent. abeg make dstv vex shutdown operations for two months jare. let all these whiners enjoy nta or arabsat. nigerians are their bizarre sense of entitlement 1 Like |

sniperr007: Lets lick their asses and get the jobs... that what people like you always like to say. If that is Ok by you, it is not Ok by many of us. So because DSTV is employing Nigerians, we should allow them to exploit us? You sound like a Multichoice staff. That was what MTN was saying when they told them to adopt Pay as you go. Today how much is MTN making after they adopted Pay as you go? Business is a Win- Win. You cant be making billions while i am not getting good value for my money. I repeat they should pack and go if they wont deal. |

sniperr007: abeg let them pack and go jare. maybe TSTV will fill the vaccuum. [sarcasm] these nitwits think that all the channels dstv provides are not paid for. let them stream zee world and champions league and burn their internet. let them return to the giant satelitte plates of my youth and the absolutely horrible signals. nonsense |

Hon. Unyime Udem that moved that motion. May God bless you and your generations to come with heavenly wisdom. Multichoice are simply dupping us madly. As a matter of face what they do in South Africa is PAYG. Awon oloriburuku. |

nigerians are the ones wasting money on dstv, if you are a very busy person that watch tv for not more than 2 hrs a day why should you pay more than 2,000 naira monthly for dstv? nigerians are the ones dashing money to dstv 1 Like |

This is a good idea, but I think what Nigerians need now is a competitive and stable internet. With stable internet no one needs those pay TVs, they will die naturally. You can watch more than 10,000 live Tv channels worldwide and millions of movies free of charge. |

You can't provide constant electricity, same you want to ban generator, you also want dstv to do pay as you view. How do you lot want them to make their money, or you want the business to die? FYI, the South Africans even pay more on Dstv subscriptions. |

Islie: If you want Nigerians to be charged pay as you watch, go and establish your own pay tv. Let Nigerians switch over to you. Its as simple as that. There are other options available. Did multichoice force anyone to subscribe? If Nigerians arent satisfied with multichoice price, they should switch to the alternatives available. Afterall, when MTN insisted it wasnt gonna charge per seconds billing, other networks came up and provided Nigerians with that option. So Nigerians should seek alternatives and not try to force a business man to lower his price or offering. Let the market forces determine that. 2 Likes |

seunlayi:Thing is you want it available whenever electricity supply is available. They dont switch it off because you dont have electricity. Maybe they will oblige your request If you let them know when you watch it so that they can switch off as well and put it on when you are ready. |

We don't have a working government,South Africa multichoice is exploiting us, it is suppose to be pay as you go.even in buying of data from telecom firms, they will tell you that your 4GB will expire in a month, whether you finish the data or not,.you are suppose to use your subscription in multichoice or the data you bought from mobile services till it finish,so you will be the one to manage it. |

Mentorme: It's different here , your phones use batteries and can be on for over 24 hours without charging and you buy your airtime prepaid meaning you have paid for the full value before you even use it ... |
