I live in South Africa, I've lived most my life in the Northern Part of the country and for the past 3 years i've lived in the Western Cape.............I've been to all nine provinces, and I can confirm nearly all middle and upper class houses have chimneys, including every house i've ever lived in.

Also Winters in South Africa are cold.......all over the country!!
