Hello everyone,
Please I have an issue with a BMW I recently acquired. The previous owner couldn’t be bothered with the extra attention he felt the maintenance would require. At the time I got it, a gear oil change was done and it worked fine for a couple of weeks. Afterwards, once I start the car and in park, it’d start to jerk forward with a clicking sound in the gear stick that sounds like it’s trying to shift on it’s own. That happens for a few seconds then it’d switch to a failsafe mode that feels like gear 3 when I drive. An electrician told me to replace the transmission valve, he tried two used ones but they didn’t work. Another advised me to change the whole gearbox.

The normal performance of this car is a beauty and I’d really like to fix it. Please help recommend solutions or good electrician and mechanic.

Scan it first, use a proper scanner that can scan transmission.

Thanks. Perhaps you or anyone here can recommend a good mechanic with a good scanner that’d suit bmw transmission. The last one checked it with a scanner that didn’t give the precise fault, but it faulted the transmission as a whole.

Greetings y'all.
My car's media is messing up. It wouldn't come on up (both radio & the media screen)
Diagnostic scans threw up no error codes on the media as well as a series of test & examination by both car electrician & radionic.
Please anyone who has experienced such or know what the solution may be should help me out.
It's a 2007 525i
Thanks

Had such in my E60 too. it happened to be the radio fuse that was the culprit. Check the fuse the trunk.

Or, disconnect the battery negative for about 30 minutes after checking the fuse. These gremlins are well known in the BMW E series.
