Thank you Sanwo-Olu for doing your job, please when you intend to halt nonessential movements please let us know so we can panic buy.

Not true. Without Trump we would not have known that chloroquine works against Covid-19. Do u realise the Chinese have known this since February but they kept it somewhat hidden, always refering mysteriously to some exotic “malaria medicine”. Only Trump came out and spelt it out, “chloroquine!”

grin.

You just buttressed what am saying. He didn't know what he was talking about.

FDA debunked his statement few minutes after he made it.

If you listen to everything thing Trump utters, you heading for destruction.

Globally, this virus is causing more harm to our social behaviour than to our physical bodies. I think it is time the media houses/social media are clamped down, forcing them to balance out the news by feeding us with useful information that is stripped of gloom and doom.

If this virus had occurred a decade ago when our social media lives were still at its infantile stages, this would not have happened. Now, anyone can cook up a story for the dark depths of their sick minds and it will be taken as the gospel truth courtesy of the social media.

We all have a responsibility to end this crisis caused by this pathogen, let us hold unto what makes us human to save this dying race.

Are these the signs of the end times? The jury is still out on that.

You want to take the China cover up approach? That is partly how we got here

That may also be the reason why they recovered relatively quickly with very little choas in their social lives. Now things are back to normal.

We are in uncharted waters here. China has been there and back. It only makes sense that we mirror what they did to achieve similar outcome.

China recovered because they are a hardcore state with zero human rights. They enforced a quarantine. If it was FESTAC ( where I live) in China , they would have welded all the gates and built a wall around the city. That is what they did in Wuhan. Straight up city 17 shit. No other nation on the planet has the resources and ruthlessness to do it. Their hiding the information slowed down the worlds response. Imagine if everyone knew from the beginning, this might have Ben better contained and the world might have better coordinated.

Well said

We should thank nature. For the first time we can be proud of our nasty weather that turns a lot of fresh looking people into dark charcoal like creatures. This is a major factor against local transmission of the virus

Have you noticed that most of our cases are imported? Have you also noticed that of all the contacts the index case had, which would be in hundreds, only one local transmission was recorded to date and even then that one make a quick recovery and may never have known he even had it if not that he was isolated and tested

My take is that the virus would and has met its match in our weather and I do not expect to see the kind of spikes here as seen in Italy and much of the temperate regions

So the governor is right. They have been proactive, frrontally confronted the pandemic and there is absolutely no data to support the need for panic behaviour from the citizens

True and one would.have thought that since we are relatively immune to this that our lives will not be disrupted but it is.

And if care is not taken, more people will suffer not from the disease itself but from its ripple effects.

May God help Nigerians! Most of them feed from hand to mouth, a lockdown may be like a death sentence for many. In other countries people have reserves. People have none of such in Nigeria.

I never liked this guy's style before but I think my opinion is changing the way he's been up and doingn on the Coronavirus issue. People should come first in every thing government does because they're not governing animals.

My concern still goes to the way president Buhari is handling the matter. He didn't even come to the media except once. He keeps speaking through garba shehu and oshiomohle. Who knows if garba shehu was the one who sent himself and baba didn't seem to be aware if it. World presidents allay fears by coming on air to address their people on a regular basis . This isn't good enough as a leader.
All normal President dey address their people.

I agree but aren't we past that now? There is a pandemic at hand, what is the next step? Common sense dictates that enforcing a quarantine might be one of the solutions if not THE SOLUTION. Already, some nations are deploying their military to "enforce self isolation and quarantine'. I don't see that approach working here but still the barest minimum we can do to avoid panic buying, chloroquine poisoning, economic decline and God knows what else is to curtail the degree of false information we are being fed with
Re: Coronavirus: No Need For Panic Buying, Sanwo-Olu Tells Lagosians by Nobody: 6:12am On Mar 21, 2020
In this time of trial, people waited for presidents to come on air and give a solution like they are doctors. What surpasses my knowledge most is that the way everyone bought the idea of chloroquine for a virus. WHY IS IT THEN SO DIFFICULT FOR YOU GUYS TO BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST ALL THIS WHILE WE HAVE BEEN PREACHING SALVATION TO YOU ALL? grin

Stop spreading false info. It's under trials

It's spreading on daily basis as we speak in the US.

Numbers rising in Italy.

Even the FDA has debunked claim that it's approved and you are here saying it works with death tolls rising across the globe.

Are you aware China is not decimating actual figures and status. If deaths in Italy can surpass that of China in couple of weeks, it tells you a lot happened in China and the communist system kept it hidden

How do we enforce a quarantine in Nigeria? We have sit at home experience, but nlc is silent.

Worse this is a country with half baked infrastructure.how do you quarantine when there is poor power supply and no running water? How many people have savings? The us has amazon to ship food to people if it comes to that.

And on twitter, it is clear that the masses think this is some sort of hoax. ( they really have No choice but to believe that) I can afford to panic because I am middle class and have enough savings to stockpile fuel etc. what does a person living day by day do?

My real worry personally ( my man egunmogaji2 resident gun nut will laugh) is that I don’t have a gun. There is every possibility things will go full mad max if we get an Italy style collapse. People break into houses to vandalize cars. Nothin stops them from breaking into a house with a stockpile. These are scary times.

We are uniquely set up for the spread. Danfo 5 per row. Okada rider coughing in your face. 95% cash transactions. Open air markets

Doctor to patient ratio of 1 to 3500
Naija to hospital bed ratio of 1 to 10500

I am thinking I should just run to the village. Of course it may already be there.

Am giving you real time news. Counts are increasing globally. Economy's are staggering, and you are here conforming Chloroquine has the cure even when a regulatory body denied it.

You need to be careful of information you spread. A trial is been done in the US and you already have the result at hand.

The last paragraph...I.havent thought that far and yes, I can see that happening. Wow. In truth, noone is safe. When it comes down to it, people will indeed to do anything to save their lives and that of their loved ones.

Like I opined earlier, I don't see self isolation and quarantine working for us down here.and I hope our leaders are smart enough to know this. Just like we allow HIV infected mothers to continue breastfeeding their young because they can't afford to buy baby milk who will first die of malnutrition before the HIV, the government should understand that we aren't as economically buoyant like other nations, ergo, rather than die in our homes and feast on one another, it might actually be "safer" to weather this virus head on believing in the ongoing myth that blacks are immune of this disease.

May God save us all

You are not safe.
If you drive car,an infected wicked demonic person can spit into your door handles, windshield, rub it at any part lf the car. Someone can mistakenly bump into you
Rub it in your face and run away.
Scale your fence ,rob you still and infect u.
I mean these random crazy things happen
However how about mad men and women.
How them wan prevent themselves too
Virus that has started killing thousands globally
And you are here speaking nonsense..
Niggis.
Tha time has come to grab any auto or semi auto you can lay your hands on.
Ranging from pump action to british pistols, assault rifles like AK 47,AR 15's dem.
Zombie era is here.
Hahahahahahaha.
All those zombie horror movies we used to stream don finally come to reality.
Imagine corona virus patients turning to zombies and infecting more and more people.
The time has come.
