I applied for loan officer in workforce though what I saw as the minimum degree was second class lower. I don't know if they do get a third class graduate if u were able to impress the interviewer very well. Moreso, I have an interview with them tommorow and I want verify if I can be selected as a third class graduate. Urgent reply is needed ASAP. |

Did you specify your grade during the application? If yes, it means they saw it and still decided to give you a chance, you probably have some relevant skills and experience. Practice really hard for the interview at this point, really really hard, for the behavioral interview practice your answers to common questions Can we meet you? What is the most challenging project you’ve worked on? What is your biggest accomplishment so far? What recent successes have you recorded? How well do you work in a team? What would you say is your greatest weakness? Where do you see yourself in 5years? etcetera If the role requires some form of experience, try to convince the interviewer why your experience is important to the role. Add a lot of packaging in your presentation, for instance, don’t say I build websites for clients, rather you’d say, I create software solutions tailored to meet client specification by being actively engaged in the entire software development lifecycle and using industry wide best practices Packaging gives interviewers multiple orgasms. Try not to overdo it though Also be ready to be caught off guard as a third class graduate, the interviewer may ask you, why did you graduate with a third class? Truth is almost no answer you can think of can be satisfying to the interviewer, especially if it’s not due to illness or the fact that you were self-sponsoring while at school, by working partime If you simply found the course difficult, or you were distracted, fellowships, parties, unproductive relationships, or simply depression or other metal problem, know it right now that this won’t cut it. It’s even difficult to convince interviewers that you spent your time on something equally productive, learning a skill, being part of a leadership forum at school etc. The interviewer would tell you “but your primary commitment at school is to your studies, how do you let side activities take up bulk of your time?” I can’t really give you an answer to this question, so you have to think long and hard on how to navigate through, without deviating too far from the truth, which comes down to packaging once more Good luck all the same. Wish you lots of luck THE BELOW IS UNRELATED BUT CAN COME IN HANDY AS FUTURE REFERENCE If you get the job, be ready to work your ass off to prove your self. Forget flexing, forget woman. From your first job, relevant experience and career accomplishments are the most important till you retire. Your grades will be relegated to the backstage at this point. |

sahito: Oga!!! The one thing that would kill your career before it starts is your lack of confidence, they’ve already invited you for the interview, go for it and give your best, even if you don’t get it, after attending a few interviews, you’ll feel more confident when attending further interviews as you’ll be used to the process and interviewers won’t intimidate you anymore Like I said before, jobs are everywhere in Nigeria but for experienced folks. Graduating with a first class in a reasonable course offers some advantages over a third class, like offers to scholarships and the likelihood to be considered for job offers before others Beyond this stage it’s experience that counts, if it’s not a reasonable course, say Yoruba engineering, first class and third class are in the same condition honestly. When looking for a senior m&e officer for example, interviewers don’t look for first class, because it’s irrelevant at this point. So you have to be ready to pull through this initial period *) take a professional course, paid or free, like some offered online, on management, safety, hr, computer proficiency etc, to decorate your cv *) work for a no name company in your industry of choice paying peanuts for about a year then move up, so long as peanuts can handle your t-fare and feeding *) maybe consider changing industry to one where there are more job offers, like IT. Traditional industries like banking, telecoms, advertising, finance etc are very difficult to get into, even getting jobs in microfinance banks are difficult to get. *) Work up your connection, if you have any *) Apply for federal jobs Good luck 1 Like |

sahito: The requirement for the job says a minimum of 2.2, which you don't have. Even if you did get shortlisted (which may have been an oversight on their part), it's most likely you won't be considered for the job because you aren't qualified. And the requirements workforce stated was on behalf of their client who must've asked for a minimum of 2.2. you don't expect workforce to flout thier client directive and present a third class candidate for a position 2.2 minimum was requested for. |
