Once upon a time, we wished and salivated at the prospect of having premium stocks like Zenith and GTB and many more at subs N16 and N19 respectively. Now by divine providence, it has been placed on our lap according to our wishes and we are scared to buy. When do we then want to make this money even? 6 Likes |

DeRuggedProf: By the time the AGMs can hold(when the effects of COVID-19 may have started to show), I hope they will not slash the proposed dividends or cancel them altogether? Uncertainties cropping up everywhere ... |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by thesilentone(m): 11:22pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
chillykelly86: Unfortunately, that might be the reality. Many coys out here have cancelled their dividends altogether. It wouldn't be unusual for Nigerian companies to do likewise. |

millennium2012: You guys should calm down; to make the best investment decisions(whether buy, sell, hold, wait, etc), you need to factor in as many views and perspectives as possible. I know the effect of such seeming negativity if one is already in the market. Yes, there are a good number of monkey hunters. But then the diverse views and perspectives actually add beauty and depth to this forum, so please resist the temptation to stifle any contrary voice; it won't help on the long run. NB: I'm also in the market. Now about 27% invested, 73% cash. 1 Like |

millennium2012: I don't think he is causing panic. Probably he is looking at the worst case scenarios. Like in the country where I live, schools and businesses have been closed, embassies closed, banks work like half day. There is a limit to gatherings. Some businesses are regarded as essential and must open. Pharmacies, supermarkets, banks, fuel stations. Only non-essential businesses could be told to close. Once this start to happen all over Nigeria, expect a hit on Q2 2020 data in all companies. Advice : separate investment money from upkeep money. Everyone should have emergency fund they can tap into for upkeep. The last 2 weeks low in banks is yet to be seen again. People should stick to buying low. Don't chase price. I love panic sellers. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Lol. This really is not the end of the world. I really pity the newbies here, who doesn't know how the game is being played. Worse than Coronavirus had been here before and people scaled through. Am very optimistic that this shall definitely pass away, and normalcy will return with time. It's well with us all. yom2: 1 Like |

naturalflow:The suspension will cause more danger once it reopen. You might see straight 10% red for consecutive 5 trading days once shut down and reopen. American didn't shut down their trading, and Nigeria will likely not. |
