The 1st death from #COVID19 in Nigeria has been recorded. The case was a 67 year old male who returned following a medical procedure in UK

He had underlying medical conditions- multiple myeloma & diabetes, and was undergoing chemotherapy

Our thoughts are with his family.

Sad.

There's a pattern. Those with compromised immunity record more deaths. This patient that died had an underlying medical condition, he was even on chemotherapy (which further suppressed his ability to fight off the infection). Those of extreme ages (infants and the elderly) also have weak immune systems.

This doesn't mean youths and every other person whose immunity is supposedly competent should get careless. Always remember that you can be a carrier of this virus. That is, if you are strong enough to fight it off, you just may end up passing it on to those within your circle, like your aged parents.

We all must be careful. We must wash our hands regularly with soap and water or with alcohol based sanitizers. Stay at home, if you can. Avoid physical contacts. Cover your mouth/nose when you sneeze. If you have suggestive symptoms (especially if you just returned from an international journey or you were exposed to an infected individual), immediately self-quarantine yourself and call the authorities. Ensure you drink lots of water.

Recall, your safety is primarily your responsibility, not the government's. So, act wisely.

This is the kind of thing that inspired Charles Darwin to embrace the theory of Natural Selection. If you want to weed out your garden, just put your hands in your pockets and watch.

When you flatten the curve you also lengthen the curve. IF the NCDC willing to go 6 months or more with this? Going 6 months will destroy the economy and usher in a total collapse of the economy . Why is this necessary for a virus that is a little worse than Typhoid or malaria, which we did nothing for?
Just like every other flu we have known throughout the history of mankind. Should you not shake hands? Of course, Should you wash your hands regularly? Always. Should you stay home if you are sick? Certainly. So the NCDC are waiting for community spread before they issue any guidelines if u are reading this pls. Isolate urself Sh!t is getting real..

he died because he has a lot of underlying health conditions. Most people will recover from it. My thought are with the family .

Covik one nine is the one we should be worried about . That one kills faster than covid-19

God help us

Let us stay indoors please

As for me n my family, no work, no church, no party till further notice

Before we panic too much, let's read the article in full which stated that the man has other medical conditions and just returned from medical trip so it's likely something else killed him and not the Coronavirus
