Please I need your help. My phone is Tecno Spark 4 and I just noticed something strange. Whenever I make calls the screen goes off, and stays like that until the call is over. It started only a few weeks ago. Please what can I do?

That's normal for phones. I think there's something called a proximity sensor at the top surface of the phone which makes the screen light go off at close distance with your ear or something else capable of covering it.

The function of the proximity sensor is to enable the screen light go off during calls to avoid any inadvertent contact with your screen that could likely interrupt the call. That's not an issue at all.

I think there's issue with the sensor. Even without bringing the phone close to my ear the screen still goes off during calls

I'm sure it's one of the transsion models either infinix smart 4, techno spark 4 or the itel variant.


It's the promixity sensor and all production models i mentioned here will have or already have this issue.

Best advice will be for you to visit the carl care office in ikeja and they will replace the screen for you free as long as the warranty is active.

I replaced one for my dad just last week. You'll collect it same day. Just 2hours though.

I tell you there are alot of people there with the same issue.

you sef don see am too. When people have problems with there device, instead of looking for solutions, they'll rather wanna blame the phone brand.

Just remove the unbreakable glass on your screen. It cause it because of proximity censors

This is the correct answer. My wife has been experiencing same problem on her phone but as soon as I removed the screen guard, it became normal.

this issh is a big problem to this brand. once u flash it things will go back to normal but expect same thing to happen after some weeks

I have seen and sold many phones.

A lot of them has settings under call and screen behaviour, you just go there and uncheck “Turn on proximity sensor” 

Eg... Some models of Asus zenfone , it took me 2 days to locate the setting under call and screen behaviour.

Some other ones... Its just the screen protector.

not only that's experiencing, I know about 5 people using this phone and they are complaining of this same issue

Spark 4 is scrap, I will Advice u to sell the phone off

Bad Screen guard, Change it or remove it entirely

I wouldn't bother myself flashing anything ooo, just activate the power button to end your call and you will be fine.
