RisenPhoenix: Good morning. Check my posts as far back as Febuary. It is not about 'common cold'. When hunger hits people after staying in isolation for 6 months people will vote to go out to work, kiss the virus and die trying. Let them bring out all the police and armed forces for mayhem is being stoked. We have nit seen anything yet. Nigeria CANNOT BE LOCKED DOWN AND SO THIS VIRUS CANNOT BE CONTROLLED. IT IS LATE. |

No one is even talking about crime. Shut downs will cause hunger, hunger will cause crime. The police will be ordered to cut down on arrests and the courts are going off line. Can this slow goverment come out with a policy statement as to how public safety will be handled in the worst case scenario around this pandemic. |

Dominatrix:If the world could overcome a deadlier Spanish flu in 1920, then I guess things will return to normal shortly after the world recovers. However, I'm more concerned about how long we'll have it around. The Spanish flu lasted from 1918-20, a whole two years. Makes me wonder how people coped that long. Even if a vaccine and a cure are developed, how long would it take to get to the general mass? The movie 'contagion' comes to mind. It's a bit scary, tbh! 1 Like |

Reference: Apart from my belief that your 6 months is even 5 months 27 days too long for most Nigerians; corporate and individual; there is nothing in this comment I can disagree with. A lockdown in any part of Nigeria will kill more people than the virus ever could. All these so called precautions are just eye service photocopies of what is being done or has been done in Canada, the EU or China without the underlying organisation, plans or thoughts that went on in those copied countries |

That was a terrible mistake on their part. Whatever their reasons, it is not excusable. Be that as it may, they have now locked up the borders. The next task is to curtail the spread within our borders now. And for that, the lockdown is not just an option. It is the only option. lexy2014: |

RisenPhoenix: We were shouting lock borders, lock borders after the Italian came in. No way. They left it open till yesterday. For what gain I don't understand. Okay Nigerians should be allowed back into their country. No problem but why not quarantine them for the mandatory 14 days in a goverment controlled facilitity like China does. What the hell is self isolation. Who can be trusted to do that. Looking back, was is not easier to have quarantined 5,000 people coming into Nigeria since January than shutting down 180 million people which is inevitable....and someone will rather have me blame Nigerians today and exonorate the goverment who is supposed to be 'organising society'. 2 Likes |

If our politicians knew that they would stay back in Nigeria one day to receive treatments, they would have developed the health sector. I pray that they learn a lesson from this pandemic problems. 1 Like |

wwwihy: Most Nigerian live on daily income. Is FG considering free foodstuffs for all on this lockdown season? Pls next time vote for people who are passionate, agile and proactive into power. It is so sad that FFK had to do a post before the President could think of addressing the Nation. No passion, no drive. The lawmakers that are representing the people felt too big to be checked at the Airport and now the spread is escalating. What a Nation!. God will surely deliver us for the sake of the helpless masses. |
