This crisis has a very peculiar behavior that is replicated all over the world. At first people think it wont come home and when the first case comes people think it wont spread. So everyone including govt behaves normally while the virus continues to gain a foothold, untill the full storm arrives. So yea, you're right we should lock down now but as I said, everyone is like ahh is just a few cases, we should be ok for now. Cant be blamed, we havent dealt with this before. Currently the govt here is strict but not locking people, they are waiting for more substantive numbers (I guess hundreds like SA) to get to business.

Africa is at the bottom of the food chain in terms of international travel so that has significantly reduced the sample of infected people who have made it to Africa. Africans are also the youngest people in the world and less urbanisation which could reduce infections. it cannot be so easy to come to such a conclusion when so many factors could be at play alone or together...
