Abakaliki, Ebonyi state

Abakaliki on the rise!

In this day and age of drone-shots can’t the state or local gov’t put in more effort into landscaping public areas....and tell private property owners (esp’ corporate) to do likewise!?

That pic of the multi-lane expressway would have looked perfect but for the isolated patches of unkempt bare earth showing here and there!

Also, i’m still not seeing any concerted effort at planting lots of trees!

I am beginning to think aesthetics is the down fall of south east leaders.

They call everything “world class” but once you see the final product, it’s like depressing to watch sometimes.

Anyway I hope a fresh generation of leaders can understand and tackle this issue of aesthetics.

If small Rwanda can get it right, then I don’t know what’s the excuse. Is just depressing sometimes.

They don't understand the importance of landscaping at all.

We can't do it alone. We need igbos to help us liberate Abia state

This comment makes me think:
For someone like Nnamdi Kanu who wields a lot of influence among the populace through IPOB, what is his position on the situation of things in Abịa?

I know he has not been in good terms with governors from the SE, and Abịa State governor in particular.
So, why hasn't he called on Abians to observe days of civil disobedience, to make their displeasure known to their governor? IPOB could declare a sit at home, or non violent protests. Things like that.
Charity should begin at home, right?
There is a disconnect somewhere. The trio of Orji Kalu, Theodore Orji and now Ikpeazụ has made a huge mess of that state, and the people only seem to murmur about it, and nothing gets done.

Few days ago, a document purporting to be an oath sworn by Ikpeazụ to give full access of Abia State finances to T.A. Orji emerged.
Don't know how authentic that document is.

This is so disheartening.

Nnamdi Kanu prefers the monthly IPOB contribution... If Abia State is better governed, then the need for his Freedom struggle will automatically subside, seeing as it is bad governance that is spurring the members on.
It's simple logic!
There is no difference between him and all the people you mentioned above, just more followers!!!

I hope our people have seen the trial run of a new explosive device some herds people have started using for their terrorism of southern cities.

They used the same explosive at Abule Egba in Lagos and destroyed so many adjacent buildings and killed so many people at once. The Nigerian Police is doing all in its power to cover the tracks of the perpetrators and of course conceal information on the type of explosive they use.

They have again tested the same device in Akure with devastating effects. I bet you the next thing is for them to find some crowded southeast or south-south city to detonate that device. Unless we are very watchful and vigilant.

We said the same thing here when the use of petrol tankers driven by people from a certain part of Nigeria was used as a tool to burn down markets in parts of Nigeria. Nobody listened until they deployed the same tactics to burn markets in the southeast.

Again, we must be very vigilant on what type of explosive device has been used at Abule Egba and Akure. How do they transport the device to the target area and how are they able to detonate it. Unless we find out about these things and set up plans to thwart their evil plans, we are bound to see an Akure or Abule Egba type of explosion in one of our cities soon.

Abia state is under a very strong curse, even miscreants like chef2000 aka okpalaAnambra is aware
It's not curse my brother. Ihe ojoo gbaa afo, o wuo omenala.

When the oppressed refuses to speak up, the oppressor continues business as usual!

Whenever the people decide to get interested in the affairs of their state, that's the day good governance will be born. Till then...

Abia state is a national disaster and embarrassment. Abia state since 1999 has remained the worst state in Nigeria.

I was born and raised in Aba, though I'm from Imo State... However, i can tell you that other Igbo's cannot help Abia.

I always make sure i vote in every election against the ruling party in Abia State, and one thing I have realized since i started voting in Aba is that our people prefer to be deceived, to be subjugated than do what is necessary. Even when some people decide enough is enough, some other people will sabotage the effort. I always tell my friends that only radical means can be used to free Abia from bad leadership, but you only need to watch petty market politics to realize that you will just be wasting your time and at the end sacrifice yourself for nothing.

It's not like the people to bring about the necessary change is lacking, but the internal backbiting is too much... I will always blame Nnamdi Kanu for not utilizing his position to better the lot of his people. There is nothing bad in using your influence to make sure your peoples suffering are at least alleviated while you fight for your so called freedom, but instead he canvasses and advocates they abstain from voting... You need to have seen how empty polling units were in the last election. I wept. A recent example of peoples might was recently shown in Ikeduru, the emergence of Uche Ogbuagu... Youths voted and secured their votes and the officials read the writing on the wall... I wish Abians will have same courage, because like it or not, Abians are cowards!

Abaribe is their at the Senate attacking the president as if he is Virgin Mary, but he is one of the biggest problems of the state.

Condition of Abia state is irredeemable. If you ever go to Aba, then you will realise that Abia state is gone with the wind. The level of filth decay and dilapidation in Aba alone is mind boggling. And to think that Aba is the main town of Abia state is disheartening. I am ashamed of being an Abia indigene
