even in worst hit regions, union workers did not suspend operations, instead they work for the masses but only in Nigeria things always go different!

Are other countries with the outbreak shutting down filling stations?
What is wrong with people in this country sef? Why are we so hostile to ourselves? If everybody and businesses were to shut down, where will the nupeng idiots get their necessitates? Which hospitals will their kids get medical care? etc

I tire for our country people. Nigeria has got to be the most dreadful place to come from in the planet, I'm sure.

Dis people get sense at all

We Nigerians are just crazy peeps...
We see every mishap as an opportunity to make money....

Well e go worry everybody no cause for alarm

Of course bro, Nigerians and indeed black people seem to be a curse to themselves.

Instead of thinking ways to help their society all they think is to create artificial scarcity and hike fuel price. forgetting that they might not be alive to spend the money.

Nobody thinks of ways to help the society, only to enrich themselves.

Virtually prices of everything is hiked. My goodness. What a race. Instead of coming together to fight and be alive, they want to make money and die.

Honestly there is something wrong with a black race

SouthNigerian:

When you try saving Nigerians from drowning, they'll turn back & bark so hard @ you, that you'll be confused on what to do next.

We are talking about lives here [some thought its a joke], majority are celebrating havoc caused by the epidemic among the elites forgetting that them "the poor masses are going to take a bite of the poisoned cake" where they are going to suffer grievious consequences of our "Crippled Health Care System".

The Epidemic will soon descend on the Commoners and that is where doom spells. If you are wise, you'll plan ahead & take cover before the storm hit your spot & the only way that can be achieved is by joining our hands firmly with our Leaders so as to curb the spread of the virus.

If you don't agree with me, liken the epidemic to a Wild Wind Storm (WWS) that that caught a large group of communities unaware. The Storm came from the North West where the Elites resides, community bells rang calling the attention of the community to the Violent Storm, but the Community People rejected the call saying the gods are fighting on behalf of them the poor people (the gods must be crazy). The Storm rose in strength from the West down to the East destroying everything destroyable in its path, the poor community people started to realise that the Storm is not staying put in the elites zone but will also feast on them, the commoners.

Now we have a problem, our elites are the ones living in brick houses where they take cover during the Storm making casualitiea minimal. We, the poor Community People are living in tents, Oh! The Storm is going to expose us,
destroy our tents, carry our children away & displace families, what a crazy time to live. Calls were then made by by our Communities Leaders instructing us that the only way we can defy the strength of the wind is by forming a large Circle, where we place our children & valuables in the middle of the Circle. When the Storm arrives, it will shook us but we will never fall with our hands firmly held together in a single Circle. But those who decides to take cover seperately, they shall be miamed & displaced by the Storm.

CONCLUSION:
Let's all forget about what our Leaders did wrong and cooperate with them [Leaders] in this trying times, that way, we will all remain smiling.

Remember:
(i) When spiderweb unites, it can tie up a lion.
(ii) A stick of palm broom can be broken with ease, but a bunch of it [palm broom] can't be broken.

Shalom!

Truth is, they know most of their products will end in the black market allowing them to make 100%-300% profits that is why they are pushing for this.

Nigerians just love to exploit eachother. This not not even make sense

When you analyse a country's strength and you calculate its GDP, count the number of tanks and missiles it can deploy or ranking of its universities....

...but cannot rank or rate, 'the state of the nation', the power of social cohesion, that is basically the ability of the people to agree with one another to achieve things... then it is a waste of time.

Nigeria has an additional burden of a fractured society which this pandemic will exploit, fractured along ethno-religious lines which we know well but with this pandemic we will also see schisms around economics, privilege and class.

Weak social cohesion manifests in the level of greed a society tolerates, the level of insensitivity to fellow citizens and apathy towards authorities.

Nations with strong social capital like China weathered the storm quickly. They obeyed authorities, supported one another and fought together without bias. Nations with weak social cohesion such as Italy where authorities seemingly cannot get the citizens to obey any order, a country that could not even enforce the worldwide public smoking bans properly, a country that changes its political leadership like underwear are battling yard to contain it.

You just wonder how a society like Nigeria where it is strictly a battle ground for the 'strong', a chapter out of National Geographic, where social cohesion is almost non existent, giving way to survival at all costs....

A nation where the manufacture and retail of fake drugs is called business, a nation where disaster regimes are exploited for gain, a nation where lives are left behind purposes, a nation where the police and army instead of assisting are exploiting... just how are we going to win this fight against corona.

Who will get the scarce ventilators, who will get the first drugs out of trial, who will get the limited hospital beds, who will get the last yam in the market or the last can of petrol.... very soon who will get electricity...who will the police protect when their colleagues begin to succumb to corona in numbers....

Everybody wants to be noticed.

Thank God soldiers will be on the street. Declare martial law and force essential workers to work. Is this the time for strikes?

Abi let the police, medical workers, agricultural industry and PHCN too go on strike. Let us all know that nobody is at risk. Or are NUPENG workers the only ones whose lives are important? I have family members who are doctors and law enforcement workers. I don't want them to risk their lives for NUPENG workers either.

My point exactly, the health workers should just sit at home if so.
Just to supply fuel with tanker, them dey shout covid up and down, but they expect heathworkers to be at the hospital attending to them for a pittance as hazard allowance.
Let Nepa too sit at home self, no essential services. Police too and soldiers in the northeast
Exactly. Let this Madness be complete.

This is no time to Start to show how important Your service is. For, we all are going to need each other to Survive this.

This people should understand this.

If you're going to stop work
Then what should we now say about the health workers, the pharmaceutical stores, the medical stores, the hospitals that are at the fore front.

Truly Nigeria needs Natural Reset.

Nigerians are so inhumane. Truckers, medical personnel ( of all cadre) grocery store workers, food chain workers, delivery suppliers are working tirelessly in the US without holding their government or people to ransom. They care if their personal safety by adhering to instructions to wash their hands regularly and maintain social distance. NUPENG workers should do the same, instead of the union executives using the pandemic to make money.

There's absolutely no need of them joining the seat at home order since the job of the tanker drivers do not include carrying passengers but fuel.

They know.... Every idiot wants a piece of the Corona spotlight.

Even your army is also talking about shutting down... A country's military!!!

That's how damaged your nation has become... Maybe when the inevitable anarchy comes, then will sense prevail.

I just dey observe everybody... Una never see anything.
